Elk/Cougar/Bobcat were 100% volunteer designed and built (with great support from EMBA). The build was led by the Dirt Wizard Trail crew and we ran public workparties to accomplish it all with in the time scope. It took 4 months and 1500 hours to build it all, and over 100 different volunteers assisted in making it happen.
That is awesome. This trail looks absolutely killer. Does EMBA every help get similar well thought out trails especially ones designed well for the footprint, get build in city spaces? looking to get something proposed to a city i live.
25 years ago I was taking time off from work just to help the old BBTC (pre Evergreen) maintain the original Tiger mountain trails with the legendary Art Tuftee. We had a heck of a time getting volunteers to come out and just keep what we had going. At 61 now, and plenty of crashes, I'm incredibly envious of the trails you all have to ride but I don't ride much anymore because I moved away from the area. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the original work at Tiger! Are there trails where you moved to? I’m down in Olympia but there’s so much accessible within 2 hours north and south. I feel super blessed to be able to choose from multiple world class trail systems
@@MTB_Corbin I'm now in the Sequim area. Mind you when I lived in Ravensdale I was 12 minutes from Tiger, and less than 5 from Sawyer Woods. Very convenient. Here the riding starts at 30 minutes away, and it's limited compared to what Tiger and Sawyer evolved into. It's incredibly cool what you all have.
@@MTB_Corbin It definitely won't be the slab trail. I paused the video and thought "wow, that actually looks super steep on video, so it must be vertical in real life." LOL
Haha it’s a steep one! The catch berm at the bottom is super solid though. Lots of front brake, little back brake so you don’t slide and then you slow down from the compression. Such a cool move!
Iiiii see what you did there with the intro clip, cause we're all watching waiting for that rock biff which of course, never comes 😝. Genius Scuba steve!! Daaammm uuuuuu!
Great video, efficient and clear like this place. Just swung by there and wow, they really make every yard count. Like, "Please design us a highly accessible balance bike to double black progression park. Yes, you have to do both manicured flow/jump lines and rooty, rocky stuff. Make sure it's fun and rewarding. Oh, and you have 32 acres." There is zero fat in this system -- every piece is there for a reason. What a lovely introduction to a sport some people are going to get.
Trails are awesome! And I’ve got a full camera settings breakdown posted on my channel 👍🏼 My DJI Settings for MTB ruclips.net/video/Kd9BV-j4xbs/видео.html
Thanks for the trail preview! We rode them yesterday and had a blast. What was your recording setup for this video? I felt like the preview perfectly captured the difficulty -- I was expecting Cougar to be impossible given how hard it looked on video but IRL it was exactly "as hard as it looked," which is rare for action cam video.
@@MTB_Corbin Thanks man! I'm surprised that this footage is in Ultra Wide; the equivalent setting on my GoPro makes everything look really flat even with the chin mount. Kinda makes me want to try the DJI cam TBH. I appreciate the camera advice in any case!
Awesome riding, man! Subscribed! So, I plan on moving out to the Seattle area this August. What are the chances of you giving me a tour of all these awesome places? 😬
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. The riding around Seattle is so sick. You got Raging River, Tiger, Duthie, Tennant, and so much more within 2 hours. Definitely give me a shout if you see me on the trails!
FYI this has always been called exit 27. And that old clip of cam McCall back flipping the house gap was in there. All those trails used to be illegal and the local dh pros would train there. I live 10 minutes away
hmm I know 27 is supposed to connect down to Tennant but a lot if not all these (Tennant) trails are new. DH pros used to train on the Tennant trails or the 27 ones? There are some wild 27 trails lol
Looks like a great use of space, glad they added so many tech features, usually these types of things are like 95% flow/jump. The only thing I don't like it is that it's yet another Evergreen trailsystem for the already-saturated I-90 zone, while we up here in Snohomish County continue to starve on our meager trail rations. :( I understand it has a lot to do with that area being really receptive to Evergreen's projects but man... hurts a little bit.
Yeah the use of space is so nice here. I feel that with how many awesome riding spots there are on the I-90 corridor. I'm down in Olympia so it is a bit of a drive to get to Raging, 27, Tiger and now Tennant... Any trailbuilding community or non profit in your area that you could help with?
Love your videos, love your voiceover. I catch everything you post. But we gotta fix your mic in post overlay! It's so tinny and hollow. Somehow your on-trail mic is warmer and fuller, which is weird.
Thanks for watching them! Yeah I'd love to get a better mic but all my money goes into gas, bike maintenance and living haha. Maybe if the RUclips thing generates some extra cash then I can upgrade the mic, it's on the list for sure
I was there earlier today and the flow trails are not very good they seem very basic with nothing new the black jump trail feels like a blue or green but the tech trails were really good. Its hard to find acessable tech trails where you can just improve your skill level but the did a great job here, and they were just really fun. Its like a practice for tiger mtn.
is the climb really that difficult, the riders looked like they were walking it? Those trails look awesome, so nice to seem trail areas popping up everywhere!
I hate to say it but I'm at the age that I would downhill but I need a ski lift to get me back up😅 of course I'm Rusty and sat on the couch too long, but yeah

100% agreed! The use of space is seriously so cool. Makes you feel like you get a lot out of each lap even though they’re fairly quick.
Did this trail system today and it was as advertised!!!!
Thanks for putting this together. Great highlight of whats out there

Dude! Way to shred! Thanks for letting me tail into some of those features, you made them look too easy! Maybe someday I'll do bobcat! Haha
You were getting pretty stylish on those jumps too! It was nice to meet you and rip a few laps 👍
You made that rock slab 9:34 look easy but looking at it, I know that is not in fact easy LOL

Yeah when I first rolled up to it I stopped and called to make sure my life insurance was up to date. Sketch!
