James stated at the beginning of his Cottage Living LP (or in passing during Dream Home Decorator, I can't recall) that the canon we're following is that Chaz completely hates his family (save for Trenton), and decided to remove himself from associating with the Bigwallets at all. We, as an audience will know it, but I guess for Chaz, changing his name was the only choice to make. Start fresh in an alleyway somewhere in the British countryside, completely separate from the drama.
Aida cloth is a stiff cloth with the fibers arranged in a strict grid-like form specifically for cross stitching. The number indicates the density of the grid. It ranges from 12 to 22 (I'm guessing squares per inch). The finer grids are ideal for really detailed designs and the larger grids are better for simple, bold patterns and allow you to work up a large area quicker.
I think it would look awesome if the house were further back on a sloping hill overlooking all the crops and animals around it. Maybe a pond in front, the crops out back, chicken area on one side and the cows on the other? Also, go CRAZY with the vines, ivy, and plants all around. Turn the place into a cute floral overgrown little cottage.
I also used debug to make the livestock barns a lot nicer... You can add a lot of shrubbery directly against the stone walls, add a lot of debug whispy grass so they actually look like they're grazing, bales of hay, and even barn doors if you use the wooden fence gates in debug. I even put the hay bales in a spot where the cow automatically goes down to graze so it looks like they're eating hay
In real life farms people do eat their own animals, which is extremely sustainable and in my opinion better option than buying meat from a store. I don't think anyone should be upset about trading animals for meat. So it would only make sense for them to change the animals for meat and ingredients or at least for money. That would be extra food for them.
@@Donna-LookingUp Yes. It only makes sense really. Animals give you eggs, milk, wool etc and meat of course. Farm people probably never buy meat from stores. And some people maybe only grows one animal at the time and eats it some special day like Christmas. But usually if you have a farm and animals you eat them also.
Totally agree. No reason to avoid trading animals for meat. It's done in real life and these sims are not vegetarian or vegan. People are allowed to choose their own diets and should not be shamed into avoiding eating meat in a video game just because some random person on the internet doesn't agree with the fact that humans are biologically omnivores. Not to mention this isn't factory farming which is one of the more common complaints against eating meat that vegans and vegetarians have.
@@Skytoxin24 yes, more good points! Makes total sense. RUclipsrs should not be forced to please every single person in the internet especially in these kind of things which are just normal life and nothing bad. This is also actually promoting better way to enjoy meat and help planet 🌏 like you said this isn't factory farming animals!
@@Donna-LookingUp I'm a vegetarian on a farm. We have chickens because they give manure which is great for the vegetables and fruit trees, they also help to eat bugs and tractor up the weeds. We would not eat them even when they're old (they'd be very tough meat in any case) Also we're thinking of getting some sheep to keep our paddocks grasses down instead of using petrol to slash it (we don't have time to scythe). So people do keep animals even if they don't eat them or their products to help with tasks and or to be sustainable in other ways. That said I don't have issues with others who keep animals for meat, it's definitely more humane and sustainable way. My spouse and I just couldn't do it and choose not to. We have plenty of fruit and veg (well we will our farm is a work in progress) I also have no problem with James trading them in a game. It's just a shame the game doesn't have a penalty for selling them too old or sickly.
Depends on the building and what modifications have been done to it. Some folk split the livingroom up to give themselves a dining room, or knocked through the kitchen into the living space for a larger open lan space. Though open plan is only recently popular, used to be seperating the spaces was much more common.
The living room size and shape is actually pretty accurate and common in the UK, Iquitos a few of my family members have weird long living rooms with two doors
What about the fridges/display cases for businesses? The ones that are the open cases. They keep food fresh longer, and you can see the items you are storing. You can put it in the small room off the kitchen.
Also when James joined the brothers at the dinner table I almost spat out my drink I wasn’t ready haha brilliant I actually look forward to your videos and is one of the first things I check when I wake up
Also when you get relationship up with patchy you can ask for gardening advice and that will boost your gardening skill up. For me it was 50% sometimes
I noticed in my own play that the roosters are almost always full but the poor hens are hungry. Clearly the roosters eat first and most leaving scraps for the hens and chicks.
Same with Patchy. I try to harvest before he wakes up so he doesn’t snag my stuff. It just disappeared for me but if anyone knows that the harvested crops go somewhere specific when he harvests let me know!
@@mandydini Good point! And it's worse with Patchy as you don't control when he is active, unlike the club where you can wait until you have finished harvesting before calling the club together. I don't know where the harvestables go with Patchy, but I'll have a poke around and see if he has a hidden inventory or something,
You could say that you're actually take the old chickens to a chicken retirement home. Like an old dogs sanctuary but for chickens. You picked the perfect moment to switch to him struggling with Lenny 😂 Also I am so happy hearing that you see and acknowledge the comments we make ❤ I was someone who suggested meat but I can get behind any of the more comfortable options. Maybe try produce and decide if what you get is worth more or less than the simoleons you would get instead. If you can buy more produce with the money you get than what they give for the chicken then money seems like the smarter option. Also there are flat garden stones in debug or something I think. REALLY REALLY love the farm! When you first started I thought it was weird that the house was right up front rather than further back but now I think it looks really good so idk. Would probably look good no matter where you put it honestly.

Once chickens get to a certain age, their meat is tough as leather. I don't think any farmer would have much luck selling an old bird as meat unless the purchaser was planning on stewing it for a week and getting a huge discount.
@@sharonhoffman1052 making ground meat with old animals is common. Ground chicken can be used in a lot of recipes 😁. We used to send our old cows in for ground beef and was perfectly fine.

Plus, my club is made of family members, so it's nice for the kids to be able to see their grandparents and aunts/uncles every day.
@@babybonesxd4810 Yeah, they do that. Also they get your eggs. You have to harvest before starting a gathering.
@@fuzzypumpkin7743 I am going to try this on my lil farm today! How fun! My rules aren't as strict as JT's. Lol
Any way you can change Chaz’s last name to Bigwallet… or Ricks-Bigwallet at the very least… He’s gotta pass on that LEGENDARY name somehow…
Oh definitely I love the Bigwallet name
I wonder how the Ricks surname came about. Is Bonehilda called Bonehilda Ricks? 😂
@@tinnie75 It was randomly generated because Bonehilda doesn't have a last name.
He hates his father, why would he want his name?
James : doesn't pay attention to the stories the locals tell him.
also James: "Why are they asking me to do this?"
love this series by the way !
There’s lots of stepping stones in Debug which would be perfect, I use them in a lot of my builds
I was just going to write this! I think you need the live edit objects cheat to find them!
The rogue robot vacuum vacuuming the yard had me in stitches. Typical Sims chaos.😅
In real life farms people do eat their own animals, which is extremely sustainable and in my opinion better option than buying meat from a store. I don't think anyone should be upset about trading animals for meat. So it would only make sense for them to change the animals for meat and ingredients or at least for money. That would be extra food for them.
Agree! If you didn't you probably wouldn't want animals on the farm but instead just live in a small country house with a regular job.
We have plenty of fruit and veg (well we will our farm is a work in progress)
I also have no problem with James trading them in a game. It's just a shame the game doesn't have a penalty for selling them too old or sickly.
Old English houses have large lounges so the size of the living room is perfect
Depends on the building and what modifications have been done to it. Some folk split the livingroom up to give themselves a dining room, or knocked through the kitchen into the living space for a larger open lan space. Though open plan is only recently popular, used to be seperating the spaces was much more common.
You could get another evil chicken and name it Dehentor, then make the 'fort' as Azkaban 😄
YEEEESSSSS
Azkabarn or azcoopban?
Rather not have references to the work of a transphobe
Looks like Hazel is getting locked out of her next gig…
Noooo
That would be so funny 🤣
how long into the episode will he be until he realises lol
I don’t think he ever added that gig because he knew he was going to be playing with them.
@@lauraparkinson437 yeah but next ep he will probably pick a farm gig 🙈
I knew you’d name one Cluck Norris, you always listen to us James
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
The living room size and shape is actually pretty accurate and common in the UK, Iquitos a few of my family members have weird long living rooms with two doors
I hope Trenton gets a mini story line with a family! I love that the Bigwallet family just keeps getting more branches.
“It’s too many Agnes variants” I love a fellow marvel fan
26:54 "We need to prune one of the Anges" Love the LOKI reference!
James: "I will concentrate on making money with the animals instead of farming"
Also James: "I am building the biggest farm!"
lmaooo
What about the fridges/display cases for businesses? The ones that are the open cases. They keep food fresh longer, and you can see the items you are storing. You can put it in the small room off the kitchen.
The mud room? Or boot room as James calls it
Yes or it could go into a walled off storage room in the large living room
Also when James joined the brothers at the dinner table I almost spat out my drink I wasn’t ready haha brilliant I actually look forward to your videos and is one of the first things I check when I wake up
Also when you get relationship up with patchy you can ask for gardening advice and that will boost your gardening skill up. For me it was 50% sometimes
The birds have a very long range on helping with plants. I had a flock off of my lot that would still come by and help!
*Gives food to one chicken. *
*Others come out to eat as well. *
"Guys no, I was only feeding one chicken!"
Relatable.
I noticed in my own play that the roosters are almost always full but the poor hens are hungry. Clearly the roosters eat first and most leaving scraps for the hens and chicks.
I raised chickens and this is extremely accurate. They would all gather around me when I would come out with their feed.
@@jorwayblacknight3619 Yeah, my grandpa used to own chickens so I know what that's like
26:56 “We need to prune one of the Agnes’s”
Someone has been watching Loki :P
Don’t do a garden club! I did that once, and my clubmembers harvested my crops and I never got them back. ☹️
Yeah, I’ve used them. It works, but you have to harvest before you start a club gathering :/
If you use the club you do need to remember to harvest all before starting a group meeting, otherwise this does indeed happen!
You have to harvest them before starting the gathering
It's run by a nice old woman who's lifes work is giving old chickens their best possible life. Maybe the money/groceries is from her chickens very active social media presence.
Laughed until I cried at the rogue vacuum with big dreams 🤣
James: Where are the upgraded parts you promised me???
Me: It’s in your inventory, James. You got a Kitchen Upgrade Part. 😂😂😂

I'd give this farm the Creepy Crawlie lot trait cos I can imagine there'd be lots of bugs and spiders about
But it's the English country-side, there'd be no poisonious spiders there!
Too bad Chaz and Trenton will never get their arcade.
Hahaha
He could have just built whatever. It's not like Hazel always follows the rules, ya know. Just throw a cheap video gaming system in and voila. Gaming bathroom. Or whatever.
You can search the snail in the bramblewood and it counts as a foraged item! This helped me a lot
Also with being outside water proof and storm chaser is a huge help!
I'm not sure whether it's available in Australia but you should watch Clarkson's Farm, it's an Amazon original. All about an idiot learning how to farm. I think it's fun and interesting to watch but it may also help with this series.
I really enjoyed this!! It was great watching whilst waiting for this pack 😌
It was quite enjoyable. I felt incensed about the wool trade in the UK (or lack there of) since I grew up on a wool farm (that is no more since the market crashed).
you could give trenton the storm chaser reward trait, i think that’s cheaper than the never scared one.
Every time someone dances.
James: Whoah-ho Yeah!!
James, the Storm Chaser trait is cheaper than Brave if you want them to work through the storms sooner rather than later.
"Trenton how are you doing..?" LOL I lost it. You picked the perfect moment to switch to him struggling with Lenny 😂
Also I am so happy hearing that you see and acknowledge the comments we make ❤
I was someone who suggested meat but I can get behind any of the more comfortable options.
For stepping stones James, you can look in debug in the base game. They have small squares and rounded stones available.
I played this pack for like 16 hours this weekend. No regrets.
same lol
Ditto!!! 😂 😂
Same! Been waiting the new pack to start the decades challenge....both a blessing and a curse
I seldom left the computer to “live”. Lol I’m just so caught up in the gameplay and my own little goals that I totally lose track of the day.
"We need to prune one of the Agneses. There's too many variants of Agnes." 😂 We see what you did there.
I named my chicken coop: "What's the coop?" and named all of my chickens after different ice cream flavors: Chocolate, French Vanilla, and Rocky Road.
A good name for one of the Golden chicken would be, Nugget! Because of a gold nugget and definitely not referring to Chicken nugget :)
Amelia Egghart or Drumstick. That’s what I’ve named my hen and rooster in my game 😂
James when you edited yourself into the dining table i chocked on air!
Yes, that was hilarious!!
Yes! That was so funny!!!
37:00 james, debug has a bunch of stepping stones, you should use those.
also, you could put a tree or two between the pond and the crops, and blend the bunny and bird stumps in there. patchy too, they look so out of place by themselves.
I have waited this entire LP series to finally hear "Ah! Baatu!!"
I think "trading for meat" would be the most realistic farming solution
I agree.
@@KaiyaAquamarine that's fair. Once ground up, it probably wouldn't be too bad. But an old whole roast chicken? Still thinking leather. The only chicken farmer I know sells most of his butchered chickens when they are much younger and more tender. I don't think cow meat would have much trouble.
@@sharonhoffman1052 yeah I'm sure a whole roast chicken would be bad lol. My cousin sends her old egg laying hens in for ground chicken. I honestly haven't had it so don't know how tough it would be lol
I just LOVE this series. One of the greats up there with Seasons. This Cottage/Dream home era is a solid one!

Yes, bees can go indoors. I have 3 bee boxes in the basement gardens of 2 of my houses. It doesn't change anything for them either. Unlike seasonal plants, they still go dormant in winter even when inside.
I fenced my chickens in around my house. Next thing I notice, two chickens are strolling through my house! “Hey, you get Animal Network on this Telly? I want to catch the next episode of Henswives of HOB.” 😳😂
