To set Launch the easy way, turn of Traction completely and pull shifter back into Sport mode. Foot on brake and gas hard and launch. It stays activated until you shut car off.
Jason Le it really is man. And the the timing possibilities are endless as well making it fairly easy to have a 500hp+ all weather machine. Thanks for watching, hope you liked the video!
Couple of things: 1) That car looks lowered? 2) Is it just optical or is there a setting to make the headlights flicker like that? Love the car. I have TTRS and it's fantastic.
Todd Register Hey Todd , congrats on the TT-RS! Can't wait to drive one haha. The car is lowered currently on some springs that were on the owner's previous S3. And as for the lights flickering , that's how they come out on camera, if you notice videos of any car with LED's they'll all do that. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed!
Todd Register Yea I can't wait till the owner puts on RS3 appropriate springs with the right spring rates, the front as you can see on some shots was too soft for the weight of the engine. I drove the car stock as well and it's just a blast in general
Been trying to research this car for a while now. That bucking has put me off completely. I was nearly swaying to the dsg box. But ill stick to my manual s3. Cant go to an automatic. Good video!! Cheers bro!!
Mick Taylor Thanks for the kind words Mick! But don't be put off just yet! Apparently the bucking is a software issue with the dsg and with an update should be remedied. That being said there's always going to be the debate on whether the dsg would be as reliable as a manual once tuned(if you plan on that) but if not, I'd still very much entertain the idea of getting one. Honestly I still think of the car all the time especially seeing the guys over at Iroz Motorsports releasing all their big turbo kits haha
also has secondary cats for USA RS3 remove secondary cats for much better sound.. Should of had it in Dynamic mode better performance for those corners
Off topic but somewhat related... To all of you Vlog experts, what are good front/rear recording dash cams on the market which include a 24hr surveillance options?
Hey bro great review! I love this car unfortunately in Australia its like $95,000 AUD. A few tips for the review, i found your information flowed well but i felt like more engine noise would give the video a nicer touch. I wanted to hear the car more as you spoke! 🙏🏻
Thanks for the kind words man! Yea I k ow what you mean, what sells the RS is really the soundtrack but we're going to post some more videos of the RS, exhaust and track footage we have. Just dealing now with this hurricane passing over us so bear with us haha
The Shift anytime my bro. It honestly is a good review. I loved it. My dream car in the next few years hopefully. You have a new subscriber. Looking forward to your video of it. You should do a 0-100 and 1/4 hit in it. All the best and stay safe brother.
Anderson C honestly man, it is pretty vague and numb. I can only really compliment the precision but I felt some "lag" , if I can even call it that could've also definitely been the car maybe rotating, in the steering during a quick left - right switchback where I felt the steering input catch up to my input
It's the snow that sells this car for me. I drive 70-75,000 km per year as an accident investigator. I need a car that can get me where I want to go in any weather including deep snow. This will do it. Well done Audi.
david dykeman Man and that's what the RS3 will do. Honestly the M2 IS a better drivers car BUT overall the RS3, I think takes it, in terms of practicality, sound, looks, and all year round capabilities.
The Shift for me AWD is very important as I live in Canada and love to take my cars in the snow for pleasure, travel and work. AWD will get me there when the car is equipped with 4 winter tires.
david dykeman 100% definitely man, I would definitely consider the RS3. You'll buy it and never look back. And now with many tuners developing parts for it, just downpipes and cooling offers a 37whp gain, add a tune in there and you're looking at a 500hp monster
Thanks man! I know the owner has taken it back to the dealer to have it checked out but no updates as of yet. Was actually bucking ALOT throughout the day, almost makes you have to adapt and be ready to anticipate if the dsg is going to buck and makes you wish they offered a manual.
Man if you can swing the rs3, speaking for all of us, you can definitely feel safe in buying one, it’s great... aaaand the 5 cylinder lol. Thanks for watching! Stay safe!🤙🏼
The Shift I just didn’t wanna hop into that car if it doesn’t feel any different than my R except for the 5 pot. Like is it more refined than the R, better put together? Or does it feel like an A3 with a better engine? 50k used is still a ton of money for a car who’s interior for example looks lackluster
Lil_ Danny904 ah man as nice, and it is amazing ...for a golf(is what people would say) but the rs3, even though it has the same seats as the s3 and not some super dope RS seats is still reeeeally good, only downside is no manual option but not a deal breaker
The Shift I test drove a 2020 ttrs last week and if the rs3 seats are anything like them, I’m down lol I’m a manual guy 100% buuuuuut, if it’s manual or dual clutch, I gotta pick the dual clutch everytime lol I’m getting a carmax rs3 being transferred to a carmax closer to me this week so hopefully I’ll enjoy it and maybe pick one up, gotta sell my mk7 R first
Lil_ Danny904 haha só the seats aren’t the same as the TTRS which they should’ve technically have been however the s3 seats are still pretty boss and honestly the dsg especially if you end up modifying the rs3 might just make life easier since they are already fast stock but with some mods you might be glad you don’t have the extra pedal lol. But yea man if you can swing the rs3 , speaking from all of us, you won’t be disappointed!
Good eye! Yes the car was lowered on springs and had spacers on for the video. That being said, i did base my review off having driven the car completely stock.
Glenny Man I do believe with the mag ride you have to go to the dealer to have it adjusted for the springs, but that's what I've been reading on the RS3/TT-RS Facebook groups
Had my 2018 sportback 2 .months now and loving it so far, but yes i also get annoyed by the jerkyness at low speed haha, not every time but still annoying
Lewis haha yea man but pretty sure it's a software fix you can get sorted at the dealer. I see from your username you had an M135i, how do you feel about that switch?
The Shift so far so good, the rs feels better made and a bit special compared to the m135i, planted into the corners and slides the tail out in exit making it a good country road blast, the m135i was faster when it eventually got traction though it was tuned so that's why, stock vs stock the RS is faster, the m135i was 391hp/420ftlb
Hey Bro im writing ypu because i want to ask you if in the rs3 that you drove has magnetic ride sistem!! i ordered one rs3 sportback in Spain and i ordered with magnetic ride, could you tell me if it works good?? also i have to say that is a really good review!! and a really good video thanks so much
J John Thank you man! Really appreciate the kind words. The car does have magnetic ride. Was honestly great only issue really are the low profile tires. First thing I would do is find some 18's and some 40 series tires.
Hi mate, why do you thing that i have to change the wheels to 18's and 40 series tires? the one 255/30 and the rare 235/35 that it has are not good ? thanks so much!!!
J John if it was me I would. Those 30 and 35 section tires just too skinny for my taste and they really translate hard bumps into the cabin to honestly finding a set of reasonably wide square set up 18's and some 245/40's all around with a fat rear sway bar and some good end links would make the car a monster. Also camber plates for the front, must.
Car actually has some springs the owner had on his previous S3 and spacers. ALTHOUGH if you notice the rear kinda dip down on the corner shots you can tell those springs aren't adequate for the weight of the 2.5 up front. He's getting some RS3 springs soon.
Don't remember the brand exactly but they're from my friend's old S3 so thats why you see the front kind of dip too far down on the corners. Stock suspension handles better than with these springs but the owner, I'm hoping, is going to buy the MSS spring kit
Actually, The RS3 is NOT built with other RS cars, and most of the newer RS cars will not be built in one place any longer. The RS3 is built in Gyor ( have one on the way, and the VIN tells you all that you need to know) The vehicle is listed as a Quattro vehicle, but not built at the old Quattro GMbH like they used to. From what I have gathered, the only cars that will continue to be built at the old Quattro GMbH plant is the R8 and the RS7
Sherstrumy it’d be between the RS3 and M2. Practicality and all weather capabilities would be the RS3. And living in Miami , you see M2’s way more that you see RS3’s so there’s that exclusivity factor as well.
Sherstrumy not to mention that 5 cylinder soundtrack from the 2.5T and it’s endless tuning possibilities. That being said , the M2 also sounds awesome and definitely tunable
"TECHNICALLY" it's a VW engine introduced in the Mk5 generation Jettas and Rabbits up until the Mk6 generation mid model generation. Audi reworked the engine so that it can accommodate a turbocharger when em they introduced the previous RS3's and TT-RS'. This engine has been updated now being aluminum and having a couple of other differences(magnesium oil pan etc) to save just about 54-55 lb's
Munish Persaud yea low gear . Let's say you just put it in drive or you're at a stop sign and you start rolling and you press the gas it'll buck. Not always, but more than enough times for it to be annoying and to hit up the dealer
Records Hehe honestly wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure but what I can say is that money talks and I know of a Nogaro blue rs3 so could definitely be possible. Thanks for the kind words!!
Wow you have me a little nervous about that bucking ,my car will be here next week and that's the second video I've seen with complaints about that bucking
IGOTGAME NJ what I can tell you man is that I'd raise hell at the dealership. Hopefully it doesn't happen with yours, could even be dangerous in some instances.
that's great news.. Wendel can you tell me how many inches across the steering wheel is I'm looking to purchase a security device for the wheel and need to Choose the Right Size..I should have my car by the end of the month Thanks
Haha sorry to hear. But yea it's pretty disappointing that it does buck that way BUT nevertheless I think I do prefer the DSG to BMW's DCT. And also I think it might be a headache but I'd just raise hell at the dealership till they get a real fix which , according to the RS3 owners community , is just a re-flash of the ECU/TCU.
QUIX Yessir! Can only really assume it's to remedy the infamous Audi understeer, so more tire in the front and less in the back in combination with the new diff allowing the rear to flow more freely to allow for more rotation
Ruoyu Li that price range is S3 territory so the car rightly should be in another price bracket. Granted it's just a tad bit more expensive than the M2 but a relatively optioned CLA45 is about the same price as this RS3. Yes the M3 can be had for just a bit more but would be a "different strokes for different folks" kind of situation
M3 is about almost 30k more here in Canada. Thats a big chunk if change imo. The RS3 can give it a run for its money stock for stock. Also you can drive the RS3 easily during winter months.
what new diff does the Facelift has?? :O :D It still can't send up to 100% to the real wheels. this is impossible with a haldex system. there wasn't changed anything...
That's a sweet color on the RS3. Bad ass ride!
Tran Cross can't go wrong with nardo grey haha. The thing is a monster!
To set Launch the easy way, turn of Traction completely and pull shifter back into Sport mode. Foot on brake and gas hard and launch. It stays activated until you shut car off.
WAY easier haha. Thanks!
RS3 looks slick and fast, definitely one of the best from Audi's RS lines.
Jason Le it really is man. And the the timing possibilities are endless as well making it fairly easy to have a 500hp+ all weather machine. Thanks for watching, hope you liked the video!
Really in depth review, good job guys
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed!
Lmao, is it just me or did this guy shave between 6:06 and 6:09 😂
Donovan lol we had limited time over a couple days shooting the car all separately so continuity was a bit of an issue
Also Lmao !! He did shave.. Very good catch.. You just won a Cuban cigar.. :)
LMAO
This just made me sleep he was talking about absolutely nuthin
I love the sound and color of the Audi RS3!
Couple of things: 1) That car looks lowered? 2) Is it just optical or is there a setting to make the headlights flicker like that? Love the car. I have TTRS and it's fantastic.

And as for the lights flickering , that's how they come out on camera, if you notice videos of any car with LED's they'll all do that. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed!
During my PDI, I had them change my springs to H&R...really makes TTRS sit right.
Todd Register Yea I can't wait till the owner puts on RS3 appropriate springs with the right spring rates, the front as you can see on some shots was too soft for the weight of the engine. I drove the car stock as well and it's just a blast in general
This channel has potential, I hope to see it go far.
Luke Jackson Thank you for the kind words man! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for subscribing haha

great video mate can't wait to see more audi stuff!
Dan Masoomi Thanks for the kind words Dan! We have something special in the pipeline but might be for early next year
An awesome car! But wod never go with this measly white greyish color. Id opt for the beautiful dark grey one!
3DFX i just bought one in daytona grey 👍👍
Nardo grey is nice in person.
also has secondary cats for USA RS3 remove secondary cats for much better sound.. Should of had it in Dynamic mode better performance for those corners
Downpipe and mid pipe all in he works but was in dynamic mode ;)
you did say comfort @ 621
The steering was in comfort. Car was actually in individual mode with everything in dynamic but the steering.
Off topic but somewhat related... To all of you Vlog experts, what are good front/rear recording dash cams on the market which include a 24hr surveillance options?
I don't always drive but when I do, I prefer RS3...
Nice review. Just picked one of these up. How did you get the headlights to do that strobe function?
J.R. Orci Thanks man! You're gonna have a blast with it! The strobe you're referring to is most likely the how the LED's come off on camera
I love the content keep it going!!
zITorQuE THANK YOU!!

You should do a 0-100 and 1/4 hit in it.
All the best and stay safe brother.
Yeah, now that Australia doesn't manufacture cars, you wonder why the luxury car tax is even needed; besides the obviously corrupt government.
CLA 45 ain't got shit on the RS3
Nick9910 Facts
Steering feel...was it a "connected to the road" feel or was it a little "vague/numb"? :)
Anderson C honestly man, it is pretty vague and numb. I can only really compliment the precision but I felt some "lag" , if I can even call it that could've also definitely been the car maybe rotating, in the steering during a quick left - right switchback where I felt the steering input catch up to my input
M2 definitely has the RS3 beat on that front. But I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker either.

we are tuning to 600hp now 9.90 1/4 on stock hardware, this car will be banned from the US, get yours as soon as you can.
Great video man, did they mention anything about the bucking?
Thanks man! I know the owner has taken it back to the dealer to have it checked out but no updates as of yet. Was actually bucking ALOT throughout the day, almost makes you have to adapt and be ready to anticipate if the dsg is going to buck and makes you wish they offered a manual.
Would this be a worthy upgrade from my stage 2 Golf R?
Man if you can swing the rs3, speaking for all of us, you can definitely feel safe in buying one, it’s great... aaaand the 5 cylinder lol. Thanks for watching! Stay safe!🤙🏼
The Shift I just didn’t wanna hop into that car if it doesn’t feel any different than my R except for the 5 pot. Like is it more refined than the R, better put together? it does look better this way great video thanks

Yea the diference springs and spacer make haha. But thank you man! Appreciate the kind words man! Thank you!

Kenneth Barker I stand corrected yet every journalist seems to say the rs3 is indeed built at Quattro. You happen to have any source to verify?
I thought the same thing, but my VIN number for my 2018 RS3 says Gyor. I had it analyzed. It is listed as a Quattro GMbH car, but built in Gyor.
Shit well haha that's that then, Thanks for the info! Do you know if the Gyor plant assembles any other cars from the line up?
That is where many of Audi's engines are built. Including the Quattro line up. It is also where the A3 and S3 are put together.
Kenneth Barker damn , not that it's a bummer but... It's kind of a bummer haha. Audi really should've put those "RS" then
Does the RS3 have a manual transmission?
Unfortunately not , would be super cool if it did haha. Thanks for watching!
2:41 that squat tho...
SwissTec sick right ? That new haldex set up is awesome
The Shift it’s actually not Haldex anymore, but QUATTRO’s own system
SwissTec sure about that? I don’t believe so man. Could be mistaken but if you have any sources on that we’d appreciate it.
RS3 OR CLA45 OR M2??
Sherstrumy it’d be between the RS3 and M2. Practicality and all weather capabilities would be the RS3. And living in Miami , you see M2’s way more that you see RS3’s so there’s that exclusivity factor as well.

ohh thats true, the audi RS3 has a lot of potential
How the hell do u get the rpm gauge to turn green at 5000rpm? Nobody can figure this out. Is there a setting for this??
I actually have no good answer for you man, maybe it's an update for the 2018's?
The Shift I have a 2018
Can you ask the owner of the car?
That shift light only works only in manual shifting, 1st gear doesn't get it but after that you'll be able to see the shift light in every gear.
Grexx esc off? Dynamic mode? I will try it tomorrow. Hope you are right.
Nice video:-):-) is this rs3 engine a vw engine??? Thank you
"TECHNICALLY" it's a VW engine introduced in the Mk5 generation Jettas and Rabbits up until the Mk6 generation mid model generation. Audi reworked the engine so that it can accommodate a turbocharger when em they introduced the previous RS3's and TT-RS'. This engine has been updated now being aluminum and having a couple of other differences(magnesium oil pan etc) to save just about 54-55 lb's
The Shift thanks for your reply. Just subscribed. Can you do lambo perfamonte or hurcan in the future. Thanks keep up the greawotk:-):-)t
Michael Lui hahaha we'll try man! Slowly but surely we'll get there!! Thanks for subscribing! 👏🏼👏🏼
@@theshiftchanneltv Actually I believe it dates back to the 80's Audi Quattro.
I would really like to help channels like this with editing your videos. It could be so much better with great sounds and color grading!!
BestOfEDM thanks for the offer man! But we're really trying to hone our editing skills to become self sufficient but thank you!
I wish you a lot of success! :)
Thank you!! To you as well!
I like that Ronaldo Grey
Two months later and still waiting for that PBIR drag strip video lol 😬
These come in manual?!? I have to get it
FreshDoughBoi28 if only man. Thanks for watching!
no manual available sry man
when does it buck, low gear low rpm?
Munish Persaud yea low gear . Let's say you just put it in drive or you're at a stop sign and you start rolling and you press the gas it'll buck. Not always, but more than enough times for it to be annoying and to hit up the dealer
Thanks for watching!
What dampeners is on that car? It's not original RS3 dampeners. It's riding way to low. Also it looks like it's using spacers.
you can get s3s in yellow?
Records Hehe If I’m not mistaken that might be Imola Yellow, now an Audi Exclusive color. Thanks for watching btw! Hope you enjoyed the video!
The Shift yeah awesome awesome video. Nardo gray is amazing. Could you get the rs3 in that Imola Yellow? Does audi do “‘individual colors” like BMW?
Records Hehe honestly wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure but what I can say is that money talks and I know of a Nogaro blue rs3 so could definitely be possible. Thanks for the kind words!!
We barely saw the car we only saw him most of the time
Damn I want one so bad
👍🏻👌
Fabian Fong Thank you for watching!
I've had mine for almost two weeks and have had no bucking whatsoever. Absolutely love the car.
that's great news.. Wendel can you tell me how many inches across the steering wheel is I'm looking to purchase a security device for the wheel and need to Choose the Right Size..I should have my car by the end of the month Thanks
IGOTGAME NJ don't worry about it...its very smooth and has quirks but it takes some learning and some adaptation.
IGOTGAME NJ Sure. The steering wheel is exactly 14 inches across from left to right.
What's the intro song? thanks.
how much for the bucking?.
David Bradley repair wise? Or the car itself? Haha
lol bucked on me on test drive.. lolol trying to grab a gear with all that torque.. just hold on brah..
Are you Brazilian?
Luciano Finardi Deu pra perceber? Haha
Valeu por ter assistido o vídeo!
Wait.... 255 up front but 235 in the rear ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓ my simple mind is hurting why so small in the back
QUIX Yessir! Can only really assume it's to remedy the infamous Audi understeer, so more tire in the front and less in the back in combination with the new diff allowing the rear to flow more freely to allow for more rotation
The Shift what happened to just learning to drive an Audi XDDD my b5 is staggered with 265 in the rear lol
Cop at 6:59 on the freeway while he's taking those bends. Not today.
this car makes me moist
My bad. I didn't see the "F" in The Shift Reviews :-\..
The Zanzibarbarian Hey man , might've been shit but your view got us some $$ , thanks for watching!
255 in front 235 in back?
Carlos Danger Yep! Comes with the Dynamic Package
Carlos Danger it's to help eliminate understeering in corners, which audis are notorious for.
Sorry I can't take a car seriously that has wider tires in the front LMAO :D
great car but over priced.. Should come down to about 44k or so with most options. at 55k you are too close to m3 territory.
Once you start adding options trust me it’ll go way higher more like 75k to 80 for an m3
M3 is about almost 30k more here in Canada. Thats a big chunk if change imo. The RS3 can give it a run for its money stock for stock. Also you can drive the RS3 easily during winter months.
This car looks lowered...

what new diff does the Facelift has?? :O :D
It still can't send up to 100% to the real wheels. this is impossible with a haldex system. there wasn't changed anything...
Martin S facelift rs3 has the same new e diff as the mk7 gti performance pack that can send up to 100% of the power to the rear wheels.
