I am so glad I got the convection oven/microwave oven in our rig. I love baking in it. We spent a week in FDR State Park, GA. Lots of history around Pine Mountain. Safe travels
We swapped our Dometic range in our 2011 International Serenity this past Fall. Our rule is if there are 3 issues with the present appliance, then it’s time to replace. So, we did and went with the Furrion - same model as yours but on someone else’s recommendation. We have issues with the oven’s igniter taking way too many clicks to finally light. The oven takes way too long to preheat and doesn’t get up to set temperature. The dial must always be placed 50° higher than the temperature needed for baking. We complained about this issue to the manufacturer. Their response is always that’s normal for RV ranges. The cooktop is great! Only the oven had issues. Love your channel. Happy trails to y’all ❤
Thanks so much for watching and the nice comment on our videos. Since we produced the video the oven is behaving a little better. Still, we are frustrated with lack of a simmer setting on the stovetop...
Just watched your oven critique. The best part of it was the7 steps of manufacturing. Your great! That oven lighting is harder than the 1962 water heater in our airstream. The steps of procedure for lighting your oven is absolutely archaic. Love you guys, hope to see you again @ international .
Thanks for watching! Yes, we'll be at International and will hope to see you there. IT is probably just as difficult to light as your '62 water heater but one would think we should have progressed in 60 years... We're glad you liked my "7 Groups".
Cindy: “I need this oven”. Same girl, same! I intentionally got an oven in my Airstream, but it’s so far off on the temp and the preheat time takes so long that it just doesn’t get used as much as I would like.
Thanks for watching! That's why we use the infrared gun to check the temperature. Our oven actually pre-heats pretty quickly which is a feature we like. They are all so quirky... We still love to cook.
We have the same oven. Doesn’t require the knob to be held in once the pilot is lit. I’d replace the thermocouple or check if it needs to be repositioned.
Thanks for watching! That's a good thought and we may check the positioning of the thermocouple. We can indeed release the knob once the pilot is lite but it takes unimaginable finesse or it goes out.
@@LuvSubbin, you really got me wondering so I stopped by our rig in storage on the way home from work. I turned on the gas and, after lighting a burner, I tried the oven pilot. It lit in about 5s of holding the knob and I could release the knob immediately. Afterwards, the oven would fire right up. Definitely check the thermocouple to make that it’s completely bathed in the little pilot flame. I took a photo of mine burning but realized I can’t share a photo here.
Thank you for your video! Although this is just a practical review of the stove, I’m curious about the entire Furrion line in terms of practicality & reliability?
Our Furrion RV Oven looks identical to your model. After we get the pilot lit, we simply turn the oven temp to the left and the oven light’s automatically. We never use a lighter.
Thanks for watching! We may have had some crappy editing. We also never use a lighter - that was with the old stove. Our Furrion works - it's just finicky...
Two of the things we learned in this video: 1) Disco lights are good. 2) We still don’t know exactly what rejecting the null hypothesis means. Carry on!
We have a Dometic in our RV and, although it’s not perfect, seems much better. We have simmer ability on the cooktop and the oven lights first try. There is no broiler.
Thanks for watching! It should not be like this. We're not sure if our particular stove is finicky or if it was designed by lawyers. Our old Magic Chef that this replaced lit in seconds and one could simmer easily.
Thanks for watching! We purchased the Furrion because it is the most widely used oven in the RV industry. We're still not happy with it but it is at least "usable". When we did this video I was seriously contemplating ripping it out and junking it. It still takes 3 tries to light the oven and we've already had to replace one of the ignitors on the rear burner - but it at least works. If I have to replace this one, I probably would also consider a GE Profile.
Thanks for watching and letting us know about your experience with the oven. It seems to work a little better these days but it is still not where it should be.
We have all Furrion appliances in our Rv. It came with them. We absolutely despise them. The oven never comes up to temperature and you can't even cook a pan of cookies in it. Its too cold. We hate every single appliance we have in this 2023 Forest River Rv
Thanks for watching! Yes, our 20 year old El Cheapo Magic Chef stove was definitely better than our new Furrior. Aside from lighting the oven, one of the most irritating parts is that the BTU's on all the stove top burners are too high. You can't simmer anything without scalding the bottom. Do the Furrion engineers ever use their own products? Safe travels.
@@LuvSubbin I am convinced the RV industry thinks all RV people only eat hot dogs, hamburgers and balogna. Its insane. Guarantee you the people that own the factories in the industry have all TRUE residential appliances and beds. The queen bed in an rv is the exact size of a full bed. The RV King is a slim queen size. Don't get me started on the storage layout. Its the most inefficient junk imaginable for shelves and drawers.
Thanks for watching. In my mind, "No". I would gladly spend more for something that worked like our old Magic Chef. It's just too finicky. We've watched other RUclips videos and others seem to have similar issues.
Thanks for the science…now I know never to buy a Furrion RV oven and stovetop…way too slow in starting the oven. Oh, and I thought a double negative was a no-no!?!
Thanks for watching! I almost considered ripping it out after a few weeks and replacing it with something else - it was that irritating. Still, we're getting used to it and it has its good days and bad days.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I'm not sure we would buy it again. It's getting better (or we're figuring it out) but there's no way it should be that hard. Our old El Cheapo Magic Chef was 100% easier to use.
Thanks for watching! Yup, we consider that stove a complete mistake. We're able to "work with it" but that should not be the case. I would replace it in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises...
Wow! I thought Furion oven was the way to go with the disco lights and I thought the pilot light was lit by pushing an igniter button so that you didn't have to crawl around on your belly like a serpent to get it lit (what I have to do with my Dometic oven). 10 minutes or more to get the oven lit?? Ridiculous!
Thanks for watching! The Furrion will light the pilot without having to crawl around it. It is just super finicky whether it wants to light or stay lit...
Well, we don't eat out too often but the old oven started like an oven should. Plus, one could throttle down the burners to a very low level versus the "hard stop" on the new stove.
Your hierarchy is hilarious! Absolutely correct!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you agree!
I am so glad I got the convection oven/microwave oven in our rig. I love baking in it. We spent a week in FDR State Park, GA. Lots of history around Pine Mountain. Safe travels
Thanks Cotton Tales! Once our Furrion is lit, we love it and C has done some great baking. It's just SOOO finicky...
Great video. Nice to put some science in it!
Thanks Mike! You know we're all about science...

Ha! What a great review! And ... what a freaky oven/stove ... I've never seen anything so reluctant to do its job ...
Thanks Bill for watching! We still haven't figured it out. We just brought the Airstream out of winter storage and it lit right away. Go figure...
Just watched your oven critique. The best part of it was the7 steps of manufacturing. Your great!

I think Living Vehicle uses Furrion products as well.

@@cbdane That's very similar to how mine works as well. Not anywhere near as touchy as shown in the video.

Thanks for watching! Sound like you have a good oven. Once ours is lit, we like it however the inability to simmer is irritating...
#8 - Testing for serviceability is done in the field by the purchaser.
Thanks for watching and I loved your comment! Sadly probably too true.
Newbie here. Is it normal to take that long to light a stove? What would you buy now? Thanks!

You would think they would use better piezoelectric devices in these stoves.

Why does it take so long
I think the old oven was better
When your hungry the 3-10 minutes to light
Will seem like a hour
Time to eat out 😅
