He wont get as much/ maybe have some of his existing customers left because of the way he said he's gonna leave Aussie market& that he's gonna accept doctor more and leave out truck drivers. Aussie ppl are generally very respectful.
In the US, any apartment or condo complex will run a credit check before renting to anyone. Granted, the potential renter could have excellent credit but could also be a terrible tenant (noisy, etc.), but it's still easy enough for the rental agent to check on the potentials in advance before signing the lease agreement.
If you find yourself consistently disagreeing with this collection of highly successful group...you may need to re-evaluate your perspective, if you are interested in financial success of course.
@@powelladventures4069 I would agree if this wasn't television. Things here aren't what I would call very true to real life and some of the people showing up are literally there just to bolster the shows numbers. People seem to always think it's publicity for the people pitching but forget that this is TV, the weirder, more harsh, idiotic things that show up help the network probably a lot more. Not to mention that a lot of times they just throw offers out to literally cut peoples balls and be bottom feeders because they "offer so much" yet most companies invested in by sharks fail. Odd how that happens. I would say disagreeing with highly successful people isn't always the smartest idea but it depends in what context you are viewing those people in.
He was funny. "G'day, can I have 2.5 mill?" "What for?" "Err, dunno...an idea?" If you are going to blag, why not try to blag a fortune? He looked like he had just wandered off the street into the studio!😁
Steve Baxter is from Toowoomba and he doesn’t really like country people or people from rural sort of areas. He grew up around them and doesn’t like ANYONE from the country unless they’ve been living in the city for ten years
That’s wrong ! He’s from Queensland ! He was being snarky and classy at same time by saying : There was one thing I liked about you. Youre from Queensland.( where he’s from) That implies the rest was garbage which was everything lol 😂
Seems like his model is backwards, in that he is marketing to the wrong side of the table in the rental market. He is charging consumers a monthly subscription fee of $16 for them to gain what is essentially premier status as tenants, along with ancillary shopping discounts, etc. Say I join, cough up the money, find a rent house, and sign a year lease. Why do I need to keep the subscription? I'd have to spend $320 each and every month just for the 5% discount to pay for itself. That's not enough incentive to keep it active. What he needs to do is retool the model. Have people shopping for a property pay a one-time fee to gain premier status (have background/credit check) and they are put in a database. Keep the shopping discounts for six months just as added benefits. They also gain access to properties that are exclusive to members. Then, market that database to property owners on a subscription basis. They pay to gain access to a desired tenant list. Each side pays a fee to gain access to the table.
Exactly. Renters aren’t interested in paying the fee forever. They sign a lease and they don’t need his service. And he will never get enough excellent renters to make any money. It’s a shopping discount club and it’s going nowhere.
Yellow Penguin They don’t get to make up the rental history. They give the company the info needed to do the rental history inquiries, but they also sign a release that allows the company to share it with rental companies and landlords. The release is voluntary and makes everything legal.
Why does he think that some "Card" will give his customers a better priority for renting? "Hi i have a weekly subscription to this company you've never heard of can i get a better deal on renting this house" Perhaps my netflix subscription will help me get priority on the next house i rent.
I think the concept is good, having a history would help landlords decide on tenants much easier. Doing background checks is a pain I imagine and using courts to chase problem tenants is alot of hassle. The concept is feasible tho I don't like how it's monetized. Actually I'm not 100% sure I understand how it works 😅 tenants and landlords pay monthly to either post or have access to tenant resumes? Might be better if an estate agent paid monthly to have access and landlords/tenants updated or accesses the documents as needed through them. It's more reliable if a business pays in, atleast that way you won't have to worry about subscriptions being cancelled every month as the landlord has found a long term tenant. The major flaw in this is that anyone could use the concept, you can patent software but anyone could make something similar.
In the U.S. there are three ways that rental tennants get accepted, three systems: 1. Name Racism - landlords look at names, email addresses, and judge them based on their prejudices 2. In Person Racism - landlords look at tenants in person and judge them based on their prejudics 3. Credit Report - landlards make potential tennants pay for their own credit checks plus a bit of profit, and judge them based on their geneological socioeconomical background, if they come from money, great tenant, if they are working class, bad tenant. 4. nothing else matters in the U.S.
Do Australians not have a credit score system similar to the US? Typically, rental collections and evictions will show up on a credit report. Now there are companies that specialize in rental collections and having a collection/eviction on your credit score can prevent you from getting other housing. I don’t understand his business model 🤷🏾♂️
theres millions of discount cards and cashback cards everywhere. 5% at KOHLS is nothing groundbreaking. that said the service itself... as an everyday American I submit a rental application maybe once every 5 years? I can't imagine paying for this more than 1 week if it added any value. Also most property rentals have their own applications and don't require a resume. I just don't understand the need.
I've been renting my current place for 7 years and have no plans to move. You're gonna tell me I'll have paid well upwards of $1000 on top of that for some store discounts?
Surely it's better to call it a discount card and remodel the business, 16 dollars a month for 5% discount in several store's and theoretically you can do it all through an app no physical membership card needed.
I don't understand what individuals would purchase this, if you have money the renter will rent to you, if you dont have plenty of money and do get behind on bills your subscription is a constant reminder that you made mistakes. The only way he has sold any cards is because of the discount thing.
What are these business owners thinking? Absolutely unbelievable to ask for that much money for a business that's not even started. Nothing makes sense and I dont trust that guy either. Something wasnt right.
These are the best (worst) ones. Crazy $ value with 0 market penetration. Ok mate. I swear some of these people don't think about the deal they're offering. It's like going up to a homeless guy and expecting him to give you his shoes and blanket in return for your handful of bottle caps.
Honestly at this point this is like the Idol auditions, just on TV because it's outrageous, no producer of this show expected this guy to get a deal, they put him on because the audience would get worked up. we're just puppetted by the producers getting this idiot in front of them
Aussies are very proud of their country (in a good way) :) I think he's saying that he's gonna leave Aussie out of it and say it's not a big enough market (irrelevantly if it's true or not), that way, for me, might be quite offensive? (This is my opinion based on my experience living in Aussie for 8 years)
It would be a good app if the landlord was insured against all losses from the renter using this service. What's to stop a dead beat tenant from signing up and screwing the landlord once they get in? NOTHING, I can see.
