The asbestos would have been on the fuse itself, and they appear to be missing from those cabinets. Basically it was a bit of asbestos rope that was used to quench the arc when the fuse blew. Really clever stuff when you think how long ago it was all thought of.
The asbostos is a white fabric tape/wick material that is put under each fuse. Couldnt see any but that type of fuseboard would be full of it. Its to prevent arc flash when the fuse wire blows it suprreses the flash/energy of the fuse wire blowing. Hope that helps Sparky Joe
Great explore Matt, very atmospheric and no vandalism. Guessing the angle around the edge of the bunker is cover to the concrete rebar tying the wall and ceiling together
HI Matt , Thanks for 'all of these wonderful videos, and Adventure's , being person of Disability , I Can never have such Adventures, Thank you, Merry Christmas
Amazing bunker, thanks for the video. The cooker 1 - 5 setting is “gas mark”, early electric ovens used this as well for familiarity. The levers on the engine are valve decompressor levers to help hand start it. One of the switches on the wall was to change between mains supply and generator. Would be great to know what the exact purpose and staff arrangement would have been.
He pads in the back of the fuse carrier sockets are asbestos. Best thing with those is to leave them closed as the dust will be lying inside. Probably lots of other asbestos around in these places. The copper pipe by the meters is mineral insulated cable, MI. A very reliable means running supplies and often found in MOD property.
Nice it's not completely trashed given the urban location. Shame there's very few period photos of these places to see what it world have looked like in use.
The cooker looks like an old Revo model R-334, fully electric. They are from around the 1930s to 40s and often sold by the local Electricity company at the time before they were nationalized.
Another great explore 👌 I've always been interested in this type of stuff. I've watched many other RUclips ppl on explores but it's always matt for me !
Definitely not built for the cold war. Those dials at the beginning With volts/amps on them are 30's-40's vintage as is the 40's Lister generator. Could have been used during the cold war. probably for WW2. Still haven't figured out where London V2 is yet. Thanks for sharing,
Remembering back to my childhood days in the early 70's, places like swimming pools often used to use a sort of cork and rubber based matting on the floors in wet places. It was like a mix of crumbled cork held together with a soft rubber. I think that was what must have been on the floor of that toilet and wash room you went into. Even when it was fairly new that stuff used to crumble fairly easily. I imagine that after all these decades it would have simply crumbled away to that spongy dust used had on the floor.
Nicely edited video - the music obviously helped but wouldn’t want it in all your videos! It’s in great condition - would be interesting to see pics of what it looked like when in use. Amazing that it’s in central London just hidden by a few bushes! Great explore 👍
Great explore! I feel like I’ve watched this one before, but I couldn’t remember who else you were with 😅, love the addition of the ambient music though One thing I did spot was the strange orb at around 3:14, if you used that as the thumbnail and drew a big red arrow and red circle around the ‘orb’ you’d probably get a million gazillion views 😂
pretty sure I have past this and never knew it existed. crazy its in good condition still. I think I seen the guy you blurred in other videos before , no names will be mentioned though always thought was a bit dodgy. hope you keep up the amazing work you produce
I like the music. I wouldn't want it on every vid but as a way to hide the muted bits it works perfectly. Is it just called ambient music or is there a better name to search for this kind of stuff?
At 18: 49 thermostat At 18: 09 i use one of those heaters in my shed 700 watts , Final thought now copper thieves know where it is all the wiring will be gone !
The earliest mixer taps crazy when everyday people had regular taps the gov had special ones lol shows how far we were to certain death everyone going about their lives not knowing how imminent nuclear war was.
@@TheSecretVault that’s good to hear👌I’ve got no time for these scumbags and just gives all exploration guys a bad name 😷 I do love your cinema exploration vids👍👍
Got keys for police station and codes from we we squatted in there sead ift was out out use but when we went in the was shell casing all over the place was a wired vibe in there especially when you see targets with known terrorists faces on them

@5:00 Mineral insulated cable. Fire and crusg proof. Love to do an explore just to geek out on that kinda stuff.

AHHA... GOOD OBSERAVTION
I hate seeing vandalism in old buildings as well👍
Another great find from the secret vault, who would've thought these places exist in London anymore.
HI Matt , Thanks for 'all of these wonderful videos, and Adventure's , being person of Disability , I Can never have such Adventures, Thank you, Merry Christmas
very glad to take you there virtually
I must of missed the original, the ambient music is kind of fitting and works rather nicely. Top stuff :)

I've always found Nuclear district control bunkers to be interesting so I enjoyed this 🙂Merry Xmas.
I thought Paddington Green police station was the most secure in the UK, I'm not really surprised you couldn't get in there! lol
This location has been aged to perfection. Toilets and sinks intact. Even the coat hooks aren’t broken off. Spiders 👀
Nice it's not completely trashed given the urban location. Shame there's very few period photos of these places to see what it world have looked like in use.
That Lister engine is a 2 cylinder narrowboat engine.

Nice one Matt. I don’t think I remember seeing this one the first time round

Bakelite is also often mixed with asbestos.
those were those brown things in the fuse box
You should've taken Jordan in there he would've screamed the spiders away hahahahaha

Another great one Matt 👍

Good job on the new editing
Who/why? If anyone can fill me in even if it needs to be vague? Cheers
Was that bunker meant to survive a nuke attack on London in the 1970s/80s?
Interesting once again Matthew Thank you
Exciting music during the explore. :D

Well edited considering you entirely eliminated someone!

Your voice has some reverb on it, is this from where you ran the audio through a noice cancellation-type bit of software?
Helps mask the sharp audio cuts
