  • On Labor Day Weekend of 2015, the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society operated several trips from the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pa, to the Delaware Water Gap near the PA/NJ border. On Saturday, I ventured out with some friends to document the historic trip, seeing that Steamtown hadn't had any steam powered excursions of its own since 2012. When we set up at Myrtle Street, we were treated to a show we didn't expect and wouldn't forget...It is still unknown how it got there, but there was buildup on the tracks just East of the Nay Aug Tunnel, causing the NKP 765 and its rather large passenger train to slip upon exiting the tunnel. The train had to reverse and make a second attempt to get it over the grade. Enjoy, and subscribe for more content like this!
