Chesters voice in that one, especially in the beginning, left me totally speechless. Chester, you were beautiful and we will keep you in our minds! You are such a big inspiration to myself as I was struggeling in the past and sometimes still do. Even you sadly couldn't stay with us you were so strong with everything you went through and I want to stay strong my whole life. This week we had to bury my grandpa and as I was driving to the graveyard I was listening to robot boy and it was so calming for myself. Music helps a lot. Thank you!
This is still so 💔heartbreaking . He had a beautiful voice! Another legend that we lost. May you Chester live on in our hearts & our memories forever. 🕇Rip. Chester 🕇
Vince was not too bad here. However Chester has a better voice Yes. Even Nikki Sixx who hired Vince said I didn't really like his singing so much but he could shake his hips and the girls went nuts. Back in the 80's when there were actual True Rock stars you needed the image and charisma as much as the voice. It may not seem it now but back in 1985 Vince Neil was the perfect lead vocalist for Sex Drugs Rock n Roll and decadence of the 80's and that's why Crue made it to the top.
yes but there were so many charismatic (and good lookin') and talented SINGERS during that era that poor neil never stood out as one of the best vocally-wise; think about david coverdale, blackie lawless, joey tempest, paul stanley, kip winger, mark slaughter etc.
Oh yeah for sure all that you mentioned are much better live singers than Vince. Most of them are still good to this day. Joey Tempest sounds incredible and has kept himself in good shape and puts on a great show. Blackie can still sing live fantastic. Kip Winger still sounds very good. Mark Slaughter unfortunately has lost that high note ability so he can sound like a cat getting choked at times.Paul Stanley I felt was always a little under rated vocally. David Coverdale again great singer as he has gotten older he has lost a bit but he is older than most of the hair band singers of the 80's.. Motley Crue was Nikki Sixx's brain child he was the smart one in the band. You can see that even as Motley Crue disbanded. He has a million other projects going on. One thing in music that does not get some song writers enough credit is the elusive ability to write a catch song.. The song that appeals to all ages, gender, culture etc. Songs that people across the board enjoy. I believe Nikki had that ability and even Bret Michaels did. Bret takes a lot of negative shots from people but the bottom line is the guy wrote some catchy tunes that people still love to this day. Songs like Nothin but a Good time are summer anthems to this day and Every Rose has it's Thorn is still a well loved ballad and love song. People sing a long 30 years later. They may not be the most technical musician songs but they are fun and make people happy and most importantly for them I'm sure get them paid for many years.
Cody the Barber .. well.. as you should know by your very Dick bad timing comment since your a professional and knowledgeable vocalist. It does not take or should it to be a outstanding front man or woman for a rock band. But to inform you on reality. Chester is actually a very good.. never trained singer / vocalist. Vince now not a great let alone good vocalist. But not important at all. Proof in the pudding with the career, hit sons, many years.. over 30 years of playing and making money still. And from songs centuries ago. John C much better singer but ask Nikki, Tommy, Mick or Vince how well that worked out?. Vince has a very distinctive voice and tone with style. And it goes with the combination of what makes the rock band MOTLEY CRUE. You ever hear the outstanding vocals of Ozzy, Ramon's, Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Korn, Lemme, Sid Pink Floyd, Geddy Lee... hoping you get the point. It has nothing to do with a professional vocalist, talented musicians.. it is about writing great songs. Usually very " simple " few chords. Few notes. That can and reach people and entertain many times change someone's life even. Your welcome on a 101 course into your ignorance and dickish comments when the person that is guest appearing just DIED. Please have someone punch you in the face

Chester didn't get the lyrics right in the first verse, either way, Chester, you ARE MISSED!!!
actually they changed the lyrics to the song specifically for Music for Relief

Almost anyone sounds better than Vince nowadays he's obese and old. He was only good in the 80's
Vince has never been a good singer, just sounded good in the studio.
