  • As you are aware, high maternal and newborn mortality rates persist in Pakistan due to inadequate healthcare facilities. In the current economic challenges, underprivileged mothers in Karachi, rural areas of Sindh & Baluchistan, face hardships in accessing good healthcare, especially during childbirth. For the last 125 years, Lady Dufferin Hospital has been a beacon of hope for many mothers and children, ensuring safe childbirth for marginalized mothers and infants.
Lady Dufferin Hospital (LDH), a Non-profit Organization (NPO) established during the British era in 1898 and currently providing state-of-the-art facilities for the best obstetric, gynecological, and neonatal services to the women and children of our society, regardless of their socio-economic background, reflects a noble and compassionate approach to healthcare. With 300 beds, advanced facilities, and services including obstetric, gynecological, and neonatal care, LDH has supported over 285,184 women in OPD, conducted 23,747 deliveries, and performed 15,324 surgeries in the last five years. These statistics of treating a significant number of patients, performing deliveries, and surgeries over the past five years highlight the hospital's substantial impact on the community, particularly the low-income group.
