    Differential equation for the motion of a pendulum.
    F = ma = -kx, sub in x = l theta and write acceleration as the second derivative of displacement. The change in displacement over time is velocity, v = dx/dt, and the change in velocity over time is acceleration, a = dv/dt = d ( dx/dt ) / dx => d^2x/dt^2.
    m d^2 (l theta)/dt^2 = - k (l theta)
    k = mg/l sub that in
    m d^2 (l theta)/dt^2 = - mg/l (l theta)
    so now we can cancel the m's and the l's
    d^2(theta)/dt^2 = -g/l (theta)
    This is what I was looking for, hopefully this helps other,

    g/l is omega, the angular frequency, denoted by a character that looks like w. Omega is equal to 2pi/T, when you rearrange for T, it comes out as it is in the video.

      Because you have to define some axis before you can tell if the vector is positive or negative. And since axis aren't really necessary to describe the problem, he just talks about the vector module.

    youre going well, untill you simply say "oh so the period is 2pi Sqrt(l/g).. youre explaining it good.. but then you state something like that and i still dont know how you got there.. like the squareroot etc.
