I used a plain white dinner plate to make this crown with the hot glue and then just let the glue set in the fridge. Let me tell you, it was SO easy and turned out SO nice. Thanks for the idea! Now my costume looks soooo good, thanks to you!
Great video. I'm not usually a DIY'er, but was excited to give this a try after coming across it. My crown turned out great! Only constructive feedback for future videos would be to include in the video or as written text in the video all aspects of the project. This video glossed over the part where you glue the crown to the tiara/base. That was probably the most difficult part for me too. But otherwise, really great job. Thanks!
I would have liked to see how it was applied as well as links to where i could have gotten the picture and crown . Could u make another step by step visual one ?
I kinda did this in art class, we took a bowl of water and put the hot glue in the water. It did pretty much the same thing. We just made a waterfall looking effect!
YOU GUYS ARE GENIUESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ALL YOUR COSTUME IDEAS!!!!!! Thanks so much!!! I subscribed cause you guys are AWESOME!!!!!
@riggett1 Hey there! Try doing a layer, and then tracing it again a couple more times. I don't know if we mentioned in the video but there are probably three layersish...
DO NOT use a Pyrex Container, I didn't have plastic and it was a mess to take it out. In the poster it looks kinda shiny so I spray painted it black and added just a cloud dust of silver I had lying around and it looks just like real metal! Thank you so so much this was actually closer to the movie look and way more cheaper than buying another crown.
Thanks! That probably would have worked if I hadn't forgot about it, it kind of broke off in pieces when I peeled it off frozen. I re-did the crown on wax paper and poked holes out, it was very easy! Thanks so much!
It might be worth mentioning that you should use LOW temp hot glue. I work in the theater and I have to make things like this on a quick basis. This is actually a good idea!
Thaaaanks a lot for the tutorial!!! I've made the crown and it really looks like in the movie! I didn't painted with acrylic paint... I used Stazon Ink and it really worked so well. Now I just have to attach some "diamonds" and it will be perfect! Thanks again!! You look so fun in the costume video! LOL
@misscarlos326 we got it from a party supply store in toronto! Like I said it used to be a crown, but I broke off the top part because it was too pretty... then we made our own top part :) goodluck!
I forgot that it was a "black swan crown" so when she said "what time is it?" ...I yelled "ADVENTURE TIME!!" and got disappointed when she did not say that >_
i did this today but the glue wouldnt come off of the plastic bowl...so i redid it on foil! then i had to pop out the foil holes for like an hourr. but the crown seems super delicate...i also painted it black..anyways, thank u so much for sharing this! im being this for halloween(:
thanks ladies! waiting for my paint to dry to glue it all together! i'm assuming you use the flat side of the melted glue as the front of the crown (like the bottom side after peeling it off plastic container)?
this is an amazing tutorial! i already own a high-temperature hot glue gun so i traced my template on parchment paper instead. it turned out perfectly. thank you kelsey and becky :]
Glue it with your glue gun. If its too stiff to bend, put it in warm water for a few minutes , then take it out, dry it and bend it to your desired shape. It's better to paint it after you glued it onto the crown :)
I salsa danced in my crown. It was challenging because salsa moves require a lot of fast over the head movements, so guys kept bumping my crown. But if you're just going to a regular club and dancing, should be fine if you dig the combs into your hair!

yeah deffs could try! you'd be ending up wearing it as a headband instead of a crown it in the end it should all look the same from far away.

I would have liked to see how it was applied as well as links to where i could have gotten the picture and crown . Could u make another step by step visual one ?
i hope it works out.after peeling it off how do you stick it to the crown??
Try putting it in the freezer for a few minutes! It should be much easier to peel off afterwords :)
I didn't make the black swan crown but i did make a different tiara and it look really cool. thanks for the idea.
I kinda did this in art class, we took a bowl of water and put the hot glue in the water. It did pretty much the same thing. We just made a waterfall looking effect!
That crown is beautiful
@princesshyrule Thanks for the feedback and good to know that we have the approval from a theater pro!

Wow, you are a creative person, love this idea! Thank you :)
For a more metal-like look you could use nailpolish to paint it or metallic black spray paint...
Thanks! That probably would have worked if I hadn't forgot about it, it kind of broke off in pieces when I peeled it off frozen. I re-did the crown on wax paper and poked holes out, it was very easy! Thanks so much!
I did this and it was super easy, I used glass instead of the plastic container.
Just made this - great idea, easy to do - and it looks awesome!
I actually used a foam black crown from Michaels and cut pieces out and added glitter!
It might be worth mentioning that you should use LOW temp hot glue. I work in the theater and I have to make things like this on a quick basis. This is actually a good idea!
Genius. Absolute genius! My crown is fantastic :) thankyou!

Glue it with your glue gun. If its too stiff to bend, put it in warm water for a few minutes , then take it out, dry it and bend it to your desired shape.
It's better to paint it after you glued it onto the crown :)
It looks good, I think you may have better luck with wax paper though. Keep making more designs!
cool!!!!!!!! but i think i'll just play it safe and spray paint a cheap plastic tiara...great idea tho!!!!

wont the hot glue melt the plastic box
How did you make to have the image of the crown? Can you send me please ?
you also can use black glue sticks!
Bon travail !;)
love it
were did you get the picture from ?
I would recommend using a glass container instead of a plastic one. Also, why does she intonate every phrase as if it is a question?
Jessica Russian Sifontes plastic is more flexible so it may be easier to release. Some people talk differently making us all unique.
is there any way you can do this without a glue gun???????????
You can also buy colored hot glue
Im doing that, just clipping the headband on my head so it doesnt pull back into a headband
Genius
Where can I get rhinestones!!!!! HELP PLEASE
very creative, but every other sentance sounded like a question :PP
Why did Becky leave?
I would have never thought to make this crown from glue gun glue. Glue Gun Glue? what?
you did not show how to attach the hair peices
i used aluminum foil as my headband
@JassieLovesU Then cut it out and paint it black. People can't tell.
The beginning was so dumb but good idea
Can I dance in this?!❤️❤️
I salsa danced in my crown. It was challenging because salsa moves require a lot of fast over the head movements, so guys kept bumping my crown. But if you're just going to a regular club and dancing, should be fine if you dig the combs into your hair!
