As suggested by the name, this mod introduced a brand new game mode to the game which plays unlike anything I've ever experienced in Terraria. Bye bye sandbox progression, and hello Binding of Isaac! 5:23 that's basically like Risk of Rain 2's 47 leaf clover, imagine if every time you had a chance to proc something like a debuff on an enemy or a special attack you rolled a dice, now you roll 2 dice and the dice with the greater outcome is the one that gets chosen. I THINK that's how that item works but it could be completely different I just know that's how the risk of rain item works
So you basically roll more dice
close enough explanation but it 57 leaf clover and the one in the mod works by rerolling bad outcomes
example is criting
in the calculations if the attack does not crit, it does the calculation again giving another chance for another crit

A lot of things in this mod seem to be inspired by Risk of Rain more than any other game. I love it

Also a lot of exact copies of items like gauntlets that are just renamed crowbars. Also there are lots of Mithrix music or ROR2 music for boss fights
When it dropped a portable generator and it said it provided invincibility for a set time upon entering a new floor I instantly recognized it as a Risk of rain item.
dude i played this and its actually so amazing, rougelikes/ rougelites are my favorite genre so i was so excited to play this mod when it first dropped

Putting literally my two favorite things together : terraria and roguelikes. This is a heavenly combination.
oh boy you will love Risk of Rain 1 and 2
the rarity color in the mod are kind of weird since blue- worst, green- middle, red- best (btw the shop inbetween levels is like the scrapper from risk of rain 2, but you just swap out the items.)

i saw the first 30 seconds of the video, downloaded the mod, and i now have probably 6 hours put into it. what i have learnt is that you got an obnoxious amount of legendaries on your first run, and also that it is REALLY fun to mess around in with cheat sheet.
These items gave me so much Risk of Rain vibes, the rarities, the items stacking, absolutely loves them

It's like 2D Ultrakill with Risk of Rain aspects. By the way, to all the people saying that its like Risk of Rain 2, that game is 3D. Risk of Rain *1* and Risk of Rain Returns is 2D

The red green blue item colors seem to be from Dead Cells. They don't seem to be rarity, but more like item categories.

yea fun thing is this mod kinda works with [ fargo`s enemy modifieres ] so you can get some very fun enemies that instakill you in room 1
with this new found knowledge i hope it helps you lose in even sillier ways

The true roguelike experience on the second run. That was a perfect encapsulation of how careful a first run looks and how unpredictable the second run can be
Terraria and Baldur's Gate 3, my favorite games, both got roguelike mods at the same time. This is awesome

The legendary which you traded for after the dungeon essentially makes it so if you have something like the turret item and don’t roll the 25% it re-rolls it for a second chance at getting the 25% chance. This item is based off the 57 leaf clover from risk of rain 2
I've played the mod. It uses the RoR music and it feels so *good* to play. The final boss had me on the edge of my seat and I got a little light headed from how focused I was. I absolutely recommend this mod. I can not stress enough how amazing this mod is.
I believe that the mourning wood boss takes inspiration from jack o fight in candy n curses a rogue like game
For some reason, Brain of Cthulhu reminds me of Flesh Prison in Ultrakill.
Was my first thought too. I think the sound effects for the eyes respawning is the same aswell.

I love this mod so much I played it as soon as it released and I instantly fell in love with it and just so you know the are MUCH crazier builds out there you just gotta hope for something good

Since you love this mod, i suggest trying enter the gungeon and risk of rain 2 since i noticed the whole gist and most of the features are heavily inspired by both of those games. They are also just amazing and should be played even more than they already are.
I thought this was a real feature! 😭, I would love Terraria like this!
this mod is Risk of Rain and Terraria in one thing i like that and the Drone buddy reminds me of the Robot from Enter The Gungeon another great Roguelike

It looks like this mod is take more inspiration from neon abyss with the room design and boss fights seem more closely related to the more linear design of neon abyss than risk of rain

I beat this first try because i got a sniper kit which made my melee do like x5 or more damage (i cant remember)
and i got every item that was helpful for tanking, so i just walked into enemies at that point and they'd die
That's crazy, gonna have tons of fun with this mod
most of these items in the mod are direct rips from risk of rain 2, not that it's a bad thing but ROR2 is an amazing roguelike that everyone should check out if you haven't already

Hy here just to say that the creator of this mod has a RUclips chanel (AcuaCG) with an epic trailer, and the RoR inspired soundtrack he use in the mod. also, very fun video :D
The first run I won, I had a super fast shotgun that made enemies drop health on hit. I was almost never below 50% health by the endgame
I feel like they have to do something about early game melee because it doesn't have knockback and it can't oneshot, so you get run over

As just beating it under 50 minutes, This mod is by far the best mod, well second best behind Calamity but still great
i just beat it for the first time, melee is amazing if you get any of the +75% damage when enemies are above 90% health, got 2 of em and was doing 1.5k a swing. Gun is 100% better for bosses tho

Also, one thing I would like is for there to be different weapons. My favorite rogue-like game is "Enter the Gungeon" and the many weapons that I can use is one of the reasons why I love it.
oh boy, once you get your pc fixed, i recommend you look into Risk of Rain 1 and Risk of Rain 2, is literally what this mod is based off

Very cool
it is still very much a beta like it says it is. Enemies scale too fast, bosses require HUNDREDS of hits if you don't get enough attack power buffs; some buffs are completely useless; the size increase buff seems to only affect projectiles and explosions except for maybe once on melee; the shop does not always spawn, so it's possible to go an entire run without seeing a core feature of progression; some items are just... better. For instance, there is a green (the second tier) item that increases all attacks by 1 (so +1 projectiles and +1 melee attacks) but there's also a green that basically is just too dangerous to use where when within X distance, you harm an enemy for 20% of your max health and heal for 2%. While this seems powerful, it's not unless you get a ton of them and it requires you to be within melee range, which the game is designed NOT to do unless you're either A, super-buffed or B, desperate.
best part about the mod is that most of the soundtrack is from risk of rain and ultrakill
If I had a nickel for every time a game franchise I am a big fan of got a fan made rougelike in 2024 I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice (Pokerouge and TerRougelike)
Would be amazing of they had support for other big mods like calamity/thorium.
A big fan of Rouge like games and terraria so this is exiding for me
I mean, the vanilla game, or at least caving in Vanilla Terraria and especially exploring the dungeon, is kind of roguelite-ish already. This is a cool mod, though!
just beat this on my 3rd try, its really fun but is in desperate need of movement items. The underworld is such a pain to go through with a double jump alone
