Squirrels are thugs. They harass birds, bunnies, & humans. Almost a decade ago, the squirrels of Texas killed 100-300 million mature oak& elm trees by eating the bark.
Regents Park is my favourite park in London. It's also where I used to walk my cocker spaniel (who loved chasing those squirrels until he was so tired I had to carry him home)😂
Thanks folks. Yes, I bumped into Woody again the other day on the tube when he was here doing his live film experiment. I stopped him and we chatted a while but I'm only 60% sure he remembered who I was. He looked pretty zoned out which didn't surprise me! Always remember the time he almost started a fight in a pub because someone was smoking! Funny days. He made our summer.
I met him in Lakeville CT a few years ago. He has a summer house there. Being a fellow Texan I said howdy and we had a couple of cocktails before he brazenly fired up some smoking materiel, and it wasn't tobacco.A Wild Child for sure.
I couldn’t believe it. After watching this video this morning I walked into Regents Park and immediately saw Joolz in his Panama hat and cricket jumper. Got to wish him a good morning . Pip pip and tally ho! Keep up the good work.
Re the Woody Harleson story. I remember the charity match and he actually talked about joining a match, your match, in Regent’s Park in his interview before the game.
And after striking the winning penalty, not a mention for me who taught him everything he knows! Ha ha! I actually saw him recently and had a beer with him. He was nice and even had watched some of my films. He said I should try being a bit more funny in them! Good advice I guess, coming from him!
I always love 💕 returning to This Regents Park video !There is were I took my first photos ever with a Kodak camera 🎥 I don’t have anymore,I still own a couple of Violeta trousers like yours, What play did I attend in Open Air Theatre Regents Park? was it the Tempest? I used to live then in Halam street YWCA residence, 1985 I was so sad because I had to drop out an Engeenering degree course because I had a lump in my breast and returned to Spain😢😢😢😂😂😂 😅😮❤💙🩵💜💚❣️🤎
Good afternoon, dear Julian. You've made our day!Thank you. 2:12We've drawn you ,squirrels, birds, your hat ,your umbrella and a bench. These touching music, episode and story are incredibly fantastic!!!🇷🇺
I liked Regents Park, Julian. I wish I'd known as much about trees back then as I do now, so that I could have appreciated that beautiful space more. What beautiful flowers at the beginning of your video. I am learning so much from your interesting videos. Thanks for that.
Me too I remember I took a photo of a squirrel running up a tree/ 🌳 or it was down it and in Rived Domingo amplified it on a cloth little portrait/ picture without a “Marco” Rim?😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🖊️🔎🚺🟪🟦🟨🟧🟩♦️
Thanks. I would have loved if you had gone around the outer circle and given some history on the different terraces. There are several of these iconic buildings here.
When I was a kid they had motorboats and even sailing dinghies. In about three feet of water. In those days our way of chatting up girls was to bump in to their boats trying to start a conversation. Simple pleasures. Nearby the park is the residence of the American ambassador where they filmed 'The Omen'.
Awesome video, and Withnail & I is definitely then best film ever made. I wrote my name on the wall in Monty's cottage when it was derelict, and my dog caught a rat in the outbuildings. 😁
Outstanding the way Joolz breaks out into reciting Shakespeare or bits of other known plays. Mine has always been "Tis the very witching time of night, , , " or O day and night, but this is wondrous strange! And therefore as a stranger give it welcome. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.,, Wm Shakespeare( Hamlet), Lastly " Ho Ho Ho, look who thinks they know so much,, Fact is your friend is only Mostly dead,, Big difference in Mostly dead and all dead, , , (Princess Bride) William Goldman.
Thanks. As it happens I do sometimes use that website for research, but only if I am feeling desperate. I prefer local knowledge and legends even if they are a bit sketchy on accuracy!
You could have been a great teacher if Shakespearean acting Joolz! ....and...a very talented and entertaining....park attendant 😊👏👏👏👏😉 btw....those squirrels love you! 🐿
I've already mentioned in comments about this being possibly my favourite RUclips channel, as a fellow 'Quirky London' fanatic. But when at 7:45 you say that Weeping Willows are your favourite tree.. as it is mine... I start to get a little creeped out. I'm stating to think maybe one of us is there other's doppelgänger...!
Hey Joolz, did you know that adjacent to Regents Park on the East side is Albany Street, & the Army Barracks there are mentioned in HJ Wells “War of the worlds”.
Well, you can actually do it anywhere really. Around the university is good but I was near the broadwalk on a mound which is hidden round the back. Hard to explain..near where the art sculptures are at the moment.
You mentioned that you had a "shrink" so clearly there is an ongoing need for a reduction in stature. Judging by your height in comparison to the squirrel, I say 6' 7".
The problem with encouraging tourists to feed the park squirrels is the parks then have to cull them, killing them at random in the thousands, which is a far worse situation, some might say cruel (orphaned animals, social hierarchies altered, new territorial fights) than not being fed the poor quality food in the first place. People, in general, have no idea of animal nutrition, they all bring the same food (peanuts) which are too high in various vitamins and minerals and leads to organ failure. All animals need a variety of food. Worse, the tight tourists just come with an empty hand and tease the animals all day to get their free photos. I don't think its a good idea to encourage them. The parks themselves have signs asking you not to.

That's Woody, he's a rude bad boy here in the states.
Here too by the looks of things! I witnessed some of his moments!
I met him in Lakeville CT a few years ago. He has a summer house there. Being a fellow Texan I said howdy and we had a couple of cocktails before he brazenly fired up some smoking materiel, and it wasn't tobacco.A Wild Child for sure.

That Woody story is classic.
Amazingly true..

Julius-this is one of my favorites in your Guides series.
Love the soliloquies.
I guess I'm in practice in case my agent ever calls me.
I’m addicted to your channel ❤️
love squirrels

Thanks. I would have loved if you had gone around the outer circle and given some history on the different terraces. There are several of these iconic buildings here.
With Nail & I is a gem of a classic movie! Good video and very well presented, thanks.

Hi Julian, I did like your Brazilian football t-shirt . Thanks for supporting my countries team. Take care mate !
What a pleasant, wonderful stroll this was. You're really very good at these, Joolz..Love all these so very much!
Thanks. Yes....I could do with more subscribers. I think they'd like these films. I wonder how to get more exposure.
A good one again.I love the little anecdotes.
Really great lithe video!
Makes me realise what beauty and culture I have on my doorstep!
Awesome video, and Withnail & I is definitely then best film ever made. I wrote my name on the wall in Monty's cottage when it was derelict, and my dog caught a rat in the outbuildings. 😁
Joolz is just brilliant
Thanks....I made this longer as people have been requesting
Great video! Love your work
awwwww I love squirrels 🌰🐿❤️
Who doesn't!
Yeah but they actually attack you in regents park and grab whatever you have in a plastic bag 😅😅 ♥️
♥️🐿♥️🐿♥️🐿♥️
That was great Joolz!
you are brilliant!! Love you're funny comments and history facts of London City.
Thanks Christopher! I steal them mostly from Blackadder but some are my own!
I was born in Barnet 5.11. 1968 and my parents moved to Switzerland in 1976. So I really miss London!!
he looked more professional when he was clean shaved. and dark jacket. these videos are amazing, no other like these.
Love it, Joolz, it was my local park growing up. Our football skills were honed here, having to dodge dog crap!
But we had many, many hours of fun.
Outstanding the way Joolz breaks out into reciting Shakespeare or bits of other known plays. Thats my Sister giving the talk in the penguin enclosure!! 😆🐧 I thought I recognised the voice!!
You could have been a great teacher if Shakespearean acting Joolz! ....and...a very talented and entertaining....park attendant 😊👏👏👏👏😉 btw....those squirrels love you! 🐿
Great video! Julian, did you know that Aspirin came from your favorite tree?
No, I had no idea! That tree looksl ike he could do with an aspirin!
@@Joolzguides 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
These really are 'Fun London Guides' Joolz!
Thanks Pete, I thought of the title all on my own ;)
Good stuff! Have you done a Withnail & I special?
I've already mentioned in comments about this being possibly my favourite RUclips channel, as a fellow 'Quirky London' fanatic. Also creepy as they feature in that song from The Innocents... Willow Waily
Awesome :)
Hey Joolz, did you know that adjacent to Regents Park on the East side is Albany Street, & the Army Barracks there are mentioned in HJ Wells “War of the worlds”.
Excellent 😊
Joolz..love your vids ..who sings the fabulous songs on you videos?
Well constructed Video
Excellent
Great! I'm glad people are still watching this one. I really liked it!
Im always watching joolzguides because i know i'll never be able to afford to travel and live in london. ;c
Hello Joolz. I love your videos. Have you ever done a video at the Clissold Park & Abney Park Cemetery ?both located in Newington. London
🐿 points 😊
Love your videos sir.....
Woody...........how cool......
Yes...very odd. I actually bumped into him recently on the tube and stopped to talk to him. DOn't think he recognized me though :(
You should had invited him to Regents park for a football game ! lol.....
I know..I'm so stupid. I felt bad for stopping him as he was clearly incognito....but I noticed him.
So are the wolves gone? as I visited there when I was 6 and I have fond memories of there
Love how you ended the video
I have seen Whitnail and I. When I return I’m going to have to feed the squirrels at Regents Park
What a corker !
We have squirrels in Australia. They're called koalas, and they have two thumbs on each hand.
Our Squirrels don't carry chlamydia
Joolz: You can use any nuts.
Me: Not my nuts, thanks.
The lake froze over at Christmas 1947 and we walked across for the first time after WW2.
Excellent Joolz, how about a Jack The Ripper walk film ?
Terry
Hey! Funny you should say that. I was just thinking of doing that! Might take a while though. there's a lot of info!
Good stuff Joolz your take on it would be most interesting :) cheers
Mr. Jools how about a guide to pub/beer gardens that acyually have grass rather than paving stones rather than the common misnomer
Where in the park is the spot where you fed squirrels?
Well, you can actually do it anywhere really. Around the university is good but I was near the broadwalk on a mound which is hidden round the back. Hard to explain..near where the art sculptures are at the moment.
Come on Joolzy, what happened to the squiggles?
The wolves at the zoo used to overlook regents Park and as a small kid I used to imagine them escaping
Me too!
English squirrels seem to be really aggro!
Tried poking my finger in the fountain today but no joy. Maybe it was turned off for the winter!
I am very ashamed to say that living in the London area for decades, l have never been to that park, and l can see what l missed.
What a pity! Nor woman neither….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Tree looked like Hugh Laurie.....
7:56
"Did you know, incidentally, that Swans..."
Are assholes?
Break yer arm with one flap of their wing ya know!
I'D BE MISERABLE TOO, IF I GOT PEED ON BY ALL THE PASSING DOGS! 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕😅🤣
LONDON IS THE BEST!!!!
Wonderful film - you seemed melancholy though, I hope it’s all forgotten now if you were.
There are websites for nature fairies
Let us all guess at the height of our host. He seems to tower over everyone. Might I suggest 6 foot 5 inches?
ha ha! Wrong! Guess again!!!
You mentioned that you had a "shrink" so clearly there is an ongoing need for a reduction in stature. Judging by your height in comparison to the squirrel, I say 6' 7".
There seems less squirrels than in the 90s when i was a regular
The problem with encouraging tourists to feed the park squirrels is the parks then have to cull them, killing them at random in the thousands, which is a far worse situation, some might say cruel (orphaned animals, social hierarchies altered, new territorial fights) than not being fed the poor quality food in the first place. I share these awesome videos on m y f/b which also includes "Americans in London"
Check it on f/b
Great! Thanks. I will now!
It looks like i can only see it if I join the group but I'm not American so I don't think they'll let me
Yes you can join......Trump is not in control of f/b ! There is no border to cross and no passport needed.....
