Amsoil. Best you cn get. Check your PPM of zinc on both small engine Amsoil vs. Amsoil diesel oil. You'll find diesel oil is higher in this dept. Comes in many weights.
I wouldn't use brakeclean on any painted surfaces, you'll be sorry. I bough some degreaser in a gallon jug from Harbor Freight. I mix it up in a gallon pump sprayer for engines. MUCH cheaper than spray cans, and won't damage the paint.
I'd recommend the 10w30 (ASEQT). That'll be the best over all weight for the age and environment/temperature you'll be operating in. Capacity is 2 quarts according to my lookup. I want able to find the filter number for some reason but you can just cross the one on there to a wix from your local parts store or cross it to an amsoil filter also. I believe it might be an ea15k51. Thanks for watching and asking about your lawn tractor. If you have more questions, you can contact me directly through www.360plusoil.com.
@@360plussynthetics thank you. I can't seem to find aseqt. Do you mean SEA QT size? Sorry. I know very little about oils and motors. Picked the mower up on a great deal to cut my lawn but I really want to change the oil first before I do. Any brand in particular for the oil?
ASE is the part number for our small engine 10w30. If you go for another brand oil, just make sure its rated for small engines/spec. Not sure if links work in RUclips replies, but this is the small engine oil we have to offer. www.amsoil.com/c/4-stroke-power-equipment/12/?zo=1382872

Yup. I've moved away from brake cleaning everything. I got one of those pump sprayers from HF also and use purple power degreaser.
Royal Purple!
Good stuff. A true PAO oil. I'll stick to the FIRST synthetic!
Just got a Scott's John Deere S2046. Any suggestion what time oil would be best? I'd like to change the oil

@@360plussynthetics much appreciated. I'll be sure to put an order in for a few bottles later today via the site.
That oil is still clean and didn't really need to be changed. It's still carmel color... did it even have 10 hours on that?
Especially if it was synthetic it definitely had lots of life left
Your oil filter is bigger I would have pour 2 quarts in it
I checked it again after running it and I believe I did end up adding the rest if the quart. 👍🏻
You use PI fuel treatment in the small engines?
In small engines I use Quickshot. It battles ethanol better for the small engines that are prone with sitting fuel. 👍🏻
Terrible drain system on the motor. Just junk and very cheap
