Best friend lives in Whitehorse. Know a river - gin clear - only a mile long. Spey up big lake trout. So fun to see a Scotsman enjoy our Yukon. We kind of frown on the pike - slough sharks - and prefer the many river holes that hold big lakers.
Thank-you !!! As young children & people , growing up , in the Yukon , we took , this all for granted .. How wonderful , for you ,, to bring it to the rest of the World ...
That's always a great plaisir to Watch your new vidéo. nice fish and beautiful landscape. Could you tell me, who sing the end song, just before dueling banjo. Thank you.
Oh ,, p.s. We all hated catching the ,, Pike !!! lol !!! when , we were Trout fishing ,,, we called them the Yukon Alligators !!! But , oh , could they fight !!! Oh , how they would destroy our flies & tackle !!! Also they would chase up , any Trout we caught , they would follow them up & bite our Trout , before we landed the trout !!! Anyways ,, Thankp-you for this Video !!! Good Fishing !!! Nahanni
Loved the video, Great! I Recently purchased a Guideline lpxe 10ft 7 weight rod do you think it would be good for pike in small rivers, medium sized lakes?, Also i plan to fish it for grilse on low water in summer, on small rivers to medium sized? would it be good choice?
Yes, very different from the UK indeed. From what I know you book your days of fishing like dental appointments to fish a beat and pay in some cases GBP 1,000 / day or more. here, you just pay your air fare and you fish almost for free. Isn't there something wrong with giving away a public resource to a select few and then asking everyone to pay them? Are you going to make any changes in Britain any time soon?
I realise that this is a dual-purpose video, showing the fishing while also promoting tourism interests. However, it is both disingenuous and irresponsible to make no mention at all of the most significant creatures affecting the pursuit of outdoor activity (especially in these Northern climes), namely the INSECTS. It would be helpful for prospective visitors to have some idea of what they might be up against. For the presenter, who is obviously Scottish (and therefore not unfamiliar with the biting midge), to omit this crucial information is astonishing.
