Soviet doesn' t equal Russian. It is not what we really want for our children. In some aspects late Soviet Union of Leonid Brezhnev 's was not a bad place to live, except for almost zero international contacts, trade and tourism. Maybe people in their age of 60-80 still have their nostalgic sentiments, but in general the younger generation of Russians is much better educated about the world.I would say we have good young generations.
The USSR had socialism, not communism. Communism is the highest goal, it is a utopia that they tried to build back then. A large number of people in Russia and the former USSR countries remember the Soviet era with nostalgia, but in the West they do not understand this. Because initially in the West everything was shown from a negative point of view about Russia - the USSR - the people as a whole. In the West they came up with all sorts of strange judgments about bears walking in the streets, and drunk Russians with balalaikas, and everything in gray tones, so that Russians would be treated badly in the West. And do not equate a Russian with a communist)), this is naive and funny. A citizen of Russia is proud of his common centuries-old history. There are different trends, different interests in the country, but basically they concern the interests of the Motherland! U go 30 km out of Moscow city centre u will see rubbish piled up in streets, I’ve seen plenty of homeless drug addicts in Moscow and St Petersburg. Lots of gypsies as well. And u say about military. Well at the moment there is plenty of Russian men been arrested on streets to be forced to go to the war. Even manipulating 18 year old conscript boys to sign a contract .
