That was a huge box for a couple packs of copics. I wish I had the money to order some with that discount, oh well maybe another year. With that said I did end up ordering that Fuzzy Hygge coloring book to help cheer me up. As this has been a very sad week for us, and the art was just so adorable I was hoping it would cheer me up. It might come in today, I hope so as I really could use some extra cuteness and joy right now.
I kind of make New Year’s resolutions, but I always try to make it something I’ve been wanting to do rather than something I feel like I’m supposed to do. For instance, this year I’m using up all the art supplies I don’t want to rebuy by using them in my coloring books, but only on the pages I’m not excited about. The good pages are for my Ohuhus and Prismacolors. Also, thanks for the reminder about Goodreads. I really want to prioritize reading good books this year.
I just wanted to mention because it isn’t mentioned in the video that Alcohol markers do not last long. The art fades away pretty quickly when exposed to sunlight. If you end up liking an artwork you make with it you will wanna scan it on a printer or take a high resolution photo. I would not recommend hanging it in a frame even in indirect sunlight in its original form.
Yes, I was shocked to see how much the color changed with those alcohol markers in a short amount of time, even in my sketchbooks. They are very temporary and need to be scanned or photographed right away.

I like the colors in this set. QotD: i don't make resolutions anymore. I set smart goals. More achievable small goals i can do throughout each day/week and build up to the larger goal. This year i set out to enjoy art more and to do that i focused on doing a drawing or coloring page a week. Then as i go and start doing that i can start doing more until I'm getting into a habit of liking my art again

Woo 12 whole copic markers. Probably cost them more to make the box than it did to toss 12 whole markers in it. I don't understand the promotion. Is it just to get creators to use their product again since Ohuhu came in and blew them out of the water? Because you can change nibs and refill Ohuhus as well. And Ohuhu sends out THOUSANDS of samples every month.

Same thing happened to me. The fix was to take the discount code out of my cart and to only buy one marker (I had loaded my cart with 20, just to see what it would do). Then suddenly, shipping to my address was aye-okay and they tried to get me to overpay for some of their other sets in the process. I declined all but went ahead with the $1 offer. I'm a rube for buying the marker. With just one, they'll probably send their worst beige or something. We'll see. Hopefully they'll send one of the 18 markers I own that spontaneously dried out without use. Ohuhu all the way.

For years now, it is better for me to identify a change throughout the year that would be beneficial, work on changing my mindset & go from there. Nothing against you and you make lovely art, but seriously? Copic people. The waste on the size of the box for 2 small packs, ridiculous. And ohuhu also has refils and they are a fifth of the price where i am from.
I’m sorry but that box was way too big for the two sets of markers they sent for a pr box that size they should’ve sent more markers or quality paper pads and new products. Definitely a letdown and underwhelming. I know that amazing art will come from those markers though.😊

Everybody has different preferences, and that's totally okay! Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this safe space! :) I'll share some of my thoughts too! A singular Copic sketch marker usually retails for $7.99 (one fill of ink). A refill cartridge retails for around $5.39 (fills each sketch marker 7 times). For 8 fills of one color, it costs roughly $1.67. Plus you can buy replacement nibs (3 in a pack for about $5.85). Plus they offer refills for every color in their library so you aren't buying unnecessary sets over and over again. It's an investment that's meant to last for life, and becomes more affordable as you build the colors you want to have. Quite frankly, I think it's worthwhile and creates less waste. :)
Ohuhu does have refills and replacable nibs, too! They upped their game a lot since first entering the market. Their brush tips are a bit stiffer than copics' - which is up to preference - and the colours on the barrels don't necessarily correspond to the ink, so you gotta swatch them without fail. But a small price to pay for more affordable options, imo.
I've always wanted copics but I can't justify it even then. Especially since I CANNOT draw to save my life. I love art tho and I just love watching artists. And I love your different art styles ❤ Mira.

You can buy refills and extra nibs for Copics, but i’m not sure you can get refills for every shade they’ve released
