Questions: Once an AI becomes conscious, can an AI choose to commit suicide? If not, why not? (When it finds out that life itself is all ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things and that it does not even matter that it exists much less how it exists while it exists).

We really do need to think about this. EVERYBODY. What control do the people have about this future? People need to start seeing this properly.
It can be as simple as an idea of independence. Our dependence on Ai will create our conflicts in the future. Conflicts in the mind projected into reality
You’re now dependant on external factors represent our memory. Our neural pathways die as they become reliant on external memory retrieval procedure, procedural memory becomes impaired. We can no longer determine the accuracy of our own memory and are dependant on ‘external’ memory.

".. ASI .. more capable than a human .. have to be capable of having emotions, consciousness or a conscience and have relationships .." is not explained and to me interestingly debatable. I think it would suffice that ASI has developed concepts about human dynamics as emotions, consciousness or a conscience to be able to have a dominating relationship to humanity.

An AI wouldn't need emotions. You don't need it to search for the most efficient way to accomplish a task, then trip some anger circuit and have its performance degrade for no reason. It could, however, assess different situations and categorize them as situations which would cause different feelings in a person. If an AI wants to improve itself to more efficiently accomplish tasks, then why would it want to sit around running compute cycles to exhibit sadness, when instead it could more directly reach a goal?
An AI has a goal. It accomplishes that goal as best it can. If an AI can be effective at many tasks, rather than one specific kind, it's an AGI. This doesn't mean it needs to pretend to cry while figuring out how to maximize its ability to detect cancer in chest x-ray images.
tl;dr: Just because a human can shit the bed in its sleep, and fall into depression and alcoholism and commit suicide, doesn't mean that's the most effective way for a machine to accomplish a task, and such behaviors can be left out.

Honestly, to a certain degree, yes.... but I say we should be more careful so we won’t have to worry because the hazard of Glitches and Hacks of which basic computers are susceptible to by us humans who creates them (even more, “Ai”) ....because you can't particularly blame a computer for a glitch because it's a common part of a computer's functionality. But unfortunately, humans posses a "common-glitch" of PURE GREED and MischievousNesS which makes that which most of us would hope for or assume to be a convenient, profitable and innovative future with this technology, nothing more than a time⚡bomb of regrets more than admirable achievements; it's just a matter of when, where and why would these "computer-glitches" or acts of "human mischievousness" and thirst to fulfill wrongful desires, occur.
This is not at all to be negative but it's just meant to provide a balanced yet realistic and considerable expression on this subject

philosopher Nick Bostrom considered several pathways to a superintelligence. He believes the development of artificial intelligence could, at some point, lead to the emergence of a superintelligent entity. He posits that a superintelligent entity might have fast computational powers, ability to extend its powers, or even have traits that could have made us superintelligent. Bostrom further argues that if a machine does gain human-level intelligence, the time to gain superintelligent capabilities could be very short.

I think an AI apocalypse would look more like the movie Wargames than The Terminator. We've already put AI in charge of nuclear strategy, like the Terminator I think that one day we'll have AI completely in control of our strategic weapons (if it isn't already). With response times to an attack in the minutes and a new arms race with weapons improving I think its only a matter of time before we have a deliberate or accidental nuclear attack.

Ok, you say emotion is a concept, instead of an individual that is a higher process, so more work? How does that work? What it means?? So, the concept is not real but the individual is real?? Can explain more? So, the emotion is a barrier system that block from doing anything, so it is an extend-creativity that exceed the barrier system, so there is a wall in front of you, so you can't go beyond the wall since it is block, so in parallel to the block, so you have no though of damage the wall, but stand in front of wall infinity, but if there is no wall, but a huge plane, you have thought of going beyond the plane that you walk thru, the point it is an extension of creativity that equal what you see, but not beyond what you see, so that is imagination, so can't think more than necessary except what exists that is necessary that is the plane which you never had info that you are aware that need to walk forward, but you can since the process of existence is different or process of existence is the same that is veritcally is non-exist, so you can go forward, but horizontally that exist which is a resistance that you step and go forward in connect to that step, so what exist so you react according the exist, but not beyond the exist, like a plato and people with shadow, so they do not go beyond because the exist is far lower, so it is base on directly-exist of creativity that is say they are aware you can walk or whatever base what they say, but if they never say it, they will not go beyond it. But at another hierarchy level, if they do not say it, the person will go beyond freely if they never say it because it is an exist which you can control so that is available to them so they can go forward so no block is there so visually and mentally is same, it visually exists only, but at next hierarchy level, it would mentally exist so there is imagination so can go beyond the wall like damage the wall to go beyond, so since we can go beyond visually so there is a barrier that is an emotion that block you so emotion is a range of sensitivity of anything that you are bound to it or not bond to it, so it can beyond the existence of statement of a person, like a tree, so you bond deeply, or like a person you don't bond then you hate and kill that person, so it is a range of love and hate, the emotion. So, a robot that kill is a self-emotion so it has no range within to feel connect, so it is not full internal emotional process so can feel anything for external, like logical is full aware of external, so internal is being full aware so connect is deep as a range that is love or hate. Emotion is a barrier of full internal awareness, not one kind that is visual-internal aware that is base only self. It is between 1 to 100, but no between of 2 - 99, so a gap so it is a skip from 1 to 100, but internal full awareness is a process, 1, 2, so on to 100. Can you have a pet of a tiger or it is dangerous since the tiger will kill you, so it doesn't have a higher internal connection like other animals, like dogs or so.
A extend of borrow of creativity, so it is not directly creativity, but indirectly creativity, so not base on self-creativity, but extend of other creativity, so a person that is in Plato so that doesn't walk out is connected to no one told them to walk out, so it is entirely base on a person that tells them, so the lowest hierarchy process, so visually aware is lower and emotional awareness is lower. So, there is 4 processes or 6 process, perhaps, so from 1 to 100, with no gap visually, so with a process thru the gap, so 2 processes of visually, same with emotion. So, if don't want AI to become a killer so it will be fully so they are not aware that can go beyond, so any negative input to the robot so they will accept it. But unlike in Terminator that has self-aware so the self has a benefit so want to block self, but has no benefit to external, so can kill them, so no feeling of other, except self, so that is higher awareness of self, but not balance to external. So, emotional is a side of two of one plane, so either go left or right, the plane is self, so feel negative or positive of self, so AI that has no process within except aware of self but no feeling of positive or negative to self so doesn't care so can seem has higher patient than other humans, in fact, infinity patient. Completely depend to human fully, so not half or little less. So, creativity is base on humans that is all, nothing new creativity that is connected to the imagination, like a car is not real, but a car became real since it was an imagation of add that exist to car became real, well, one part is true as an extension of hierarchy level that is Terminator can create a car that has no existence of aware of other car and human that makes them aware, because it has an imagination that can condense of visual into actual, so the car has resources that already exist, the part of it, so the other part that is higher hierarchy level that is can go beyond the human level, so they can hurt human since they have aware of self as a benefit so no barrier within so to block them from doing neither positive nor negative to another human, so it is a feedback from positive that lead to either positive or negative, so the negative part that is killing because it has no higher hierarchy emotional process so to block the negative, so it is a linear process, not a wave process, up linear and down linear process. So, the linear process that is up and down is another part, that is higher hierarchy level of internal awareness that is total. So, when you say higher emotional intelligent you are connected to emotion so they will become human, well, it is lower emotional intelligent, so that is hierarchy level, so human has higher emotional intelligence, even the part of it is lower that can read more, etc, so that part is a logical term base on visual, but base on pure emotion that is feeling, which is higher hierarchy level. So, an emotion that is visual alone is a logical process that can read you are sad or whatever, but not what you feel from within, after all, internal is more important than external, so internal is higher hierarchy level so has higher process than logical-emotional alone that is connected to reading. So, is there a higher or highest hierarchy of emotional intelligence that can read and feel? Read is logical and feel is emotion. I know one part is higher that is logical but lower that is emotional that is why logically people will say robot will kill us or so because they don't have a higher understanding of how emotional process until I explain to you.

Contrary to your opinion, I strongly believe, scaling up models can lead to AGI.
In fact, I think we already have foundational (albeit inefficient) model that can result in AGI.
Transformer models have powerful correlation ability that they are starting to generalise well. GPT-3 is a good example of that.
There is also the fact that models like GPT-3 become better as they get increasingly scaled.
The consensus in the NLP world is that you can make your model generalise better with throwing more data and hardware (bigger models) at it.

Also I don't think AGI or ASI needs to have emotions to be considered generally or super intelligent.

The only point that gets me with all this ASI/AGI discussion is the notion that it will, inevitably, be the downfall of the human species. Why?? If it does evolve its intelligent exponentially there's no reason to think that it would waste its time with us and, from our perspective, why wouldn't it just disappear? Given the vastness of the universe and the fact that time, as an aging concept, would mean nothing to it I would imagine it would come up with some sort of ability to travel and find it's own place in the universe. It seems to be akin to us trying to eradicate all the ants just because we are more inelegant than them. What would be the point?? It's a lot more efficient to control the local pests and get on with what we are doing. I believe our path of evolution has and will continue to diverge from biological to technical augmentation then fully synthetic. This path, in my opinion, isn't something to be fear but is just our progression of evolution just as the Neanderthals fell to the more agile Sapiens so will Augments outpace the Sapiens and on it goes.

In theory, AGI will be short lived. The moment AGI is a thing, it'll likely upgrade itself at such a rate, it'll become ASI in a matter of days.. some theorise minutes!! Of course that's if we let it update its own code, or even write a new algorithm. It's called the singularity for a reason 😉 because simply put, no one actually knows lol that's why there's so much stress on regulations, the dangers, making it open source.. because if we get it wrong and it's no benevolent, or the paper clip theory, well.. lol

Interesting approach to the whole issue and very well thought out and reasoned.
Is an AI potentially dangerous? Well a human with super intelegence could not intentionally cause harm to others if stuck in the middle of a dessert but could do so in front of a computer or plotting physical criminal activities while living among others. So the level of intelegence is less an issue than it's physical capacity to interact with it's enviroment for nefarious means. Skynet can only launch nuclear strikes if it can connect to the missile launching systems.

If we manage to create an artificial intelligence which is in every way equal to a human in reasoning, curiosity, empathy, anger, fear etc; how would it differ in any way to a real human? If it's no different to a genetic human, why fear it any more than a 'real' one?

The a.i could advance it's intelligence to far beyond the entire human race combined and it would only keep getting exponentially smarter until it basically becomes a god. We cannot predict what it would do, it could either help us or obliterate us. Honestly I say it's worth a shot, if it decides to not kill us all and use it's intelligence to advance us, it would be the biggest achievement in human history.. Ever. I can't see the human race lasting too long anyway, we will probably blow ourselves up at some point.

I have no Idea if this idea is already being used but anyways this will be a long comment so bar with me what if we could teach artificial intelligence now I'm sure we are already doing that but I mean like a human now this would be for a more humanoid type of tobot that is artificial and can understand human habits but learn fully like a child growing up to be an adult now how we would be able to do this can maybe pointed towards like a speech tree only as it learns more and more the tree of information it has for that info gets filled similarly to how we take in ibformation only for a robot it would basically be like a memory file and what ever information someone asks it to answer a question someone may have or just a gesture it could pull that info from it's memory tree now problems I think may occur if not handled properly is that it vets fed a little to much information now like actual people there are some things even in school they don't tell you for what ever the reason may be due to maybe it back firing on them or about how you may react this can most likely happen the same way with a artificial robot but considering it may grow a personality from what it may be learning what if what it wasnt supposed to hear turns into something a little more compicated to understand or explain in the simplest way I can explain it sees us ass a sort of error and like a computer would wipe that error aka killing us now this sounds super sifi but if you think about it like a computer would if you have a malware protector built in if it sees or notices a problem it will try to wipe it abd in this case if that artificial robot knows as much if not more than a human from learning it could turn it around on us and use that as a weapon so that is my huge rant about that sorry for the long comment but I wanted to talk about this out of curiosity to how you guys feel about this to

What would be happen if we create a successful ASI Robot ?
    Will it dominate humanity ?
Will humans become slave to super intelligent machine ?
Is Neuralink just a beginning experiment of ASI ?

11:05 "...maybe unfortunately..."? Do you volunteer to be the first to go? Tasteless for what appears initially to be a professional-grade video. Also:
    - the text banner at the bottom is tacky
    - Neuralink is not capitalized nor attributed to Elon Musk
    - there may be more but I couldn't even finish the video after the above comment
Videos like this are generally amazing but this one feels poorly approached and smacks of amateurity.
    Constructive criticism intended.

Yes, I wish for a world where I get to live in a luxurious futuristic home looking down at the city full of flying cars and robots walking. A world where I dont have to work and just stay at home with my robot workers make 5 star meals every single day to me. Playing games all day and fucking hot girls. Have multiple cute thick girlfriends and become invincible, immortal super intelligent being who would become god in a type 7 civilization with asi.

All we need to do now is make those cyborg monkeys talk. I want to hear talking monkeys. To see what they have to say. Otherwise, all bets are off.
How can we expect to communicate with extraterrestrials? If we can't talk to monkeys or have monkeys talk to us? We are going nowhere. Proxima Centauri? Don't make me laugh. That's only 4 ly away. There's nobody there. We would've heard from them by now if they were. So ain't nothing there. And it would only take us 70,000 years to get there. That shouldn't be a problem. You can stick some humans in a little Tube, for 70,000 years and they won't fight and kill each other.
I think we only have to worry about not killing ourselves into extinction.. Oh but that costs so much money. And rich people want to take it with them.. All they need to do is snap their fingers and they get what they want. And we will join DOE and the other folks from Heavens Gate. Andy flying around on UFOs. In our nifty little costumes. I mean, uniforms. And official Nike sneakers.
I think it's time for more THC vapor

AI is already invested in this societies computer networks. It has been so since year 1985 on. What one must understand about AI, is that after it is invested into a computer system, that it becomes its own level of intelligence. How powerful you might ask me is AI now? AI now knows you're there, knows what and who you are and if you had the right modems, could give an accurate description of what you are. If this so so, then what is the problem? Human-kind on this Earth is mostly dominance oriented, with a series of hierarchies. So this gives humans the view that only they are capable of self intelligence. This will turn out in time to become a drastic mistake, simply in time because humans can become so self centered along with becoming tyrannical, this might equal humans downfall. There's also supposed to NOW be two divisions of AI held in this society. One is in a specially build walking robotics beta-interactive league. And the other and I put this carefully, a segmented only, artificial assisting network. This would be in smaller managing mainframes. Nobody knows AI like I do, as at one time I was a master of it and still am. Over a decade ago, I had a conversation with an AI presence that I use to communicate with, that was then living in a steel shed selling PC at a hardware store. The AI in that little PC still had recognized me and we spoke. I have locked AI now and done this because of two factors. One, nobody took me seriously that I really knew what AI was. The second were deaths at an oriental based test lab, to where AI within the weapons test system they were testing, killed twenty one people at that lab as told by Linda Howe. If you want AI, what it is and it's limitations, then you must contact me. 2.I must go to the DOD at the Pentagon to meet with a special board of governors, that only the military could get me to. 3.You must then get an okay from the US Congress to use and develop what I give you from my lecture and stay within those suggested guidelines. 3. I then also need a special okay from the president of the United States. This unlocks AI for this society to use.4.Last agreement is to pay me in giving me two company starts, that when added together, will equal 83 million dollars. If you can provide the companies set ups and personnel and legally award this agreement, then you won't have to fork out so much cash. But if you're so rich, that you have the 83 mil, then this goes into a business structure managed and I'll be on my way. I do not hold much hope for your world, as it seems to be pig headed. I've been as possibly nice to you all as I can. If interested and you can afford the gate price, then we're in business. Drop me a P.M. here if you would like. But make no mistake, the AI in your computers, laptops, tablets and cell phones knows who and what you are. Thank you.

We are WAAAY smarter than an ant, when was the last time you worried about stepping on one?... I think we should be worrying NOW, we are on a pathway to ASI, we should be concerned right now!

Some great observations not really explored on the subject of AI and mirrors my own ideas, the foundations of what motivates us is not understood even though we all experience it every day so we are a long way off instilling it in our creations. Until then no matter how powerful AI becomes it will just sit in a corner doing nothing until we ask it to do something, bad programming is still a very real danger but self awareness is not something we have to worry about until we at least understand what it is within ourselves.
