- Proto P2 cars are a sort of covered go-karts with a very low weight and powered by motorcycle-derived engines which makes them very agile and suitable for slalom races and for tiny and little circuits. Generally they are homemade by enthusiasts but there are specialized companies who build these fun track-toys, like Polini Motorsport. This Fiat 126 (a little Italian city car, which replaced the famous Fiat 500 in 1972) is now powered by a modified Honda 1000cc engine taken from an old CBR 1000RR. Watch it racing at Castelletto di Branduzzo circuit during the 2018 Challenge del Lupo driven by Damiano Furnari.
Formula Challenge is an Italian series taking place on permanent circuits or on arranged ones (dirt, tarmac or mixed). Races are chase races in which the cars start at preset intervals. The type of the circuit must be such as to provide an average speed not over 80 km/h. The final classification is drawn up to the sum of the times resulting in the two best heats of the race (out of 3) discarding the worst.

One of the coolest little machines I have seen so far! Yet another nice upload!
Two words :
*Pocket Rockets.*
Love the on-board cam angle. Great video!
I would love to take that to the supermarket
It's like a kart
Tom: I ´ll catch you!
&
Jerry: If you can...😁
Jeez that little box screams. Nice vid Bozzy
Those chassis look cooler than the ones for older classic cars but boy are these old timers stable in corners, the other home made chassis turn into drifting machines no matter what you do.
The lil polski has gone insane
Great to see good old school home garage silhouette Racing cars still being built and raced. I loved seeing want people had been building over winter, when the first meeting at Lydden Hill came around, Bill Richard with his metro and mini and the other cars like the imp’s and outright home builds.
Looks like so much fun.
This hybrid is insanely insane!
Pocket Rocket.
Almost as wide as it's long
This thing is insane 😳
Thank you, have never seen this before, but that would be so much fun.
Sure looks like a handful! But what a fun looking "toy"
Wow. Any link of the specs where they mention driveline specs and engine location/fabrication?
Ho qualche dubbio Che non sia una 126 originale..
Complimenti 👍
Vi prego di mostrare di più sulle X 1/9s che c'erano! I telai, le motore, tutto.
Suspension cries for help.
Looks like it needs softer spring rates.
Wow, what an angry dwarf. Wonderful.
Qué tal el fiat ése motor que le pusieron fenomenal pura potencia 👏👏👏👏👍😃
Epic 😉
There were more of them in Poland, than in Italy.
This car was literally in every Polish garage bt 70s-90s.
¡¡Impresionante el chiquito como se agarra al piso!!
I see very little body flex or body roll and minimum correction in turns, I see the opposite when the same engine is installed on a buggy or custom made chassis
Is it AWD ? I know Italian people make many off these bike engined Fiats awd or 4x4 for slalom events
Probably rwd. Motorcycle engines don't make a lot of torque so awd would take away a lot of the power i think.
@@MassiveBig they do this with busa engines.
@@AxelP33 thats understandable but this one is only a 1000cc
@@MassiveBig ONLY?!?
This car in stock form have 2 cyl 650ccm and 24hp. But it weights nothing.
1000ccm and 150hp+ makes it rocket fast!
Have seen many of them with bikes engines, from 600ccm to 1000ccm and above.
Never have seen AWD.
Only mid engine/rear drive or rear engine/rear drive, like original.
Awesome 😎
Sick!
Bozzy sei tu che guidi ?
Nice car
Cute Rocket Pocket
Zarombiste
amazing
Angry little thing lol 🥰💪🏾🤘🏾
Wooooow 😮❤💪👈👍👌✌
NIce :-)
I'm pretty sure if that fiat had a tail, it'd be wagging.
Nice Poland car
Clutchless upshifts but what about downshifts?
Because sequential?
It is called quick shifter. Not sequential. In motorcycle it will do both upshift and downshift without any touch of the clutch
TOP
Co oni zrobili z maluchem???!
Probably most popular car in Polish motorsport in communist era.
Rally, track and rallycross.
Ppl made small monsters out of stock 2 cyl 650ccm engines.
Aircooled and rear mounted, just like old 911's :)
Sembra di guidare un kz haha🤣👍😂👏🔝
wściekły słoik
бешанная табуретка))
HONDA never die
I think the only way to tame these is with wider tires, and a full auto gearbox or a torque converter
😂
The gearing on this is WAAAY too short.
The ratios are too close and the final drive is too short.
I think they didnt changed nothing in the gearbox. Its mainly because of the tire diameter
If you race on a circuit like this, why would you want longer ratios 😂
I think they are just about right for this tight, tiny track. What scares me most is the short wheelbase. The thing does not want to go straight.
You're WAAAY too much of a wanna be expert. Wheres your build?
Average speed in the series it races in is supposed to be no more than 80kmh so why would you need longer gearing?
