loooove the space western idea!! a project where you just write for fun always feel like it says more from your heart then the ones where you set out to say something!
Omg I feel like I have TOO many projects!! I'll probably have to do a part two to this video lol, especially after re-visiting my old writing, I was thinking 'wow, I forgot about this fun story!'
That advice about not writing the project of your heart first is so good! Writing is a skill to develop, and it’s so easy to get discouraged early in the game. Save your best ideas for later 😊 great video! Good luck in 2025!
@@awritingdai thank you!!! I definitely know so many people who have tried writing their heart’s book for years…and then feel discouraged that it’s taking years! (I’m also one of those people, but after hearing that advice, I shelved it. And now look! I’ve finished a book!)
For the first time in a long time, I don't have another story waiting in my brain. Which is good. Because I'm finishing up the first draft of my third novel in a series and will soon have over 550K words to revise 😬 But it looks like you've certainly found your niche, which is great.
Congrats on finishing up that series! That's so cool to have done so much work!! Did you revise separately or did you write them all first and are now going back to revisions?
@@kaitlinrochellewrites thanks! The most revision I've done was a very incomplete zero draft --> first draft (current WIP). No revisions on the other two. But yes, that's the plan - finish the third, and go back to revising the first in order. Next year will be mostly all revision, I'm thinking...
@@76kilosofshade81 That's a very interesting process! You'll have to let me know your thoughts about doing it that way! I'm always looking for new things to try
I’m such a fan of these ideas! Would love to hear about the others you have in another video if you decide to do that. They sound super interesting. I feel you on putting away bigger projects that mean a lot. Though I’m so eager to write them I’ve found projects that I can manage for my first few that I still enjoy writing. ❤
Thank you!! I definitely have a LOT more in the archives, and would love to make another video. And yes, putting away meaningful projects can be tough, but at the end of the day, I think it's for the best! I still have a lot of friends who are trying to write their 'heart's books' and you can tell they want them to be perfect, so there's little progress being made
@ Excited to see more if it comess. I try to keep in mind that while I’m not rushing to publish a book just yet I don’t want to end up just working on that one project for so long that nothing on my everlasting list of projects gets finished.

I totally agree! It's so crazy how Project Lament went from a silly no-pressure story, to a commentary on family relationships and trauma.
Wow! I wish I had this many projects all thought out! I can't let myself stray from my main, or I'll never finish it 😅🤣

all of these projects sound sooooo cool! thank you so much for sharing!!
@@justalexis1 thank you for watching!! I hope I get to share them all with the world one day!

So exciting Kaitlin! Can't wait to see these projects come to fruition!
Thank you!!
oooo. I am so excited to hear more about them in this new year.
Thank you! I'm definitely on my writing KICK so I might have more in-depth things to share as I actually write them…🤔🤭
