I read that book a while ago and I liked it a lot, especially the essence of mythology and the histories of the tribe, the way they explain their world fascinates me. I liked the twist of the friend possibly becoming a storyteller too. Of course what the author wants to convey to us is the influence of modern culture on them and what is right or best for them, basically tradition vs modernity (with all the pros and cons). I would like to know what other Latin books you have purchased or you are planning to read soon :)
Thanks Marcelo. In terms of books from Latin authors I've currently got: Dirty Havana Trilogy; Dom Casmurro; Like Water for Chocolate; A long Petal of the Sea; and a book of poetry from Pablo Neruda. Additionally, I've got around 5 nonfiction books about Latin America but not from latin authors.
@@thelatinamericanexperience3774 Oh great, I have read a couple of those, you seen like you are really interested in latin culture, as an question: are you interested in the language too?, as I said in another comment I recommend you to add tho that list some book from Gabriel Garcia Marquez, I really like his books, he said that Juan Rulfo was one of his inspirations (that if you like the style in Pedro Paramo). greetings :)
Thank you so much

I'm learning Spanish, but haven't been consistent. I read 100 years of solitude a few years ago, but plan to read more from him in the future.
