One reason I enjoy reading Vargas Llosa, Garcia Marquez, Cortazar, Borges, and other writers from the Spanish speaking world is that there is something that carries through, even in translation, that is firmply rooted in Spanish, in a Latin way of writing. It comes from a different place.
