I have not done the archon quest but I know it because of spoilers. If any information is false, someone correct me.
The puppet is the only real body. When we talk to Ei it is her consciousness inside the puppet. The playable character is both Raiden and Ei. They are about equal in power. So we did get the electro archon as playable. The voicelines are from both and you can easily tell who is who. Regular when playing with the polearm is Raiden and when you burst you can say that is Ei as Ei wields the sword.
Fun fact- Raiden means the god of thunder Beelzebub is the prince of demons and Raiden comes from JAPANESE mythology and Beelzebub comes from DEMON mythology Meaning not only that Raiden Ei is JAPANESE but that she can create demons and it could be that Scaramouche and The shogun puppet are demons and Inazuma should technically be Japan, not China the only reason she is seen as Chinese is because Mihoyo is a Chinese company but if we're mixing it with real terms she is Japanese and she should also be the strongest since she literally is Beelzebub the 2nd strongest demon and unless Celestia is Satan or Lucifer Ei is in general the strongest character in Genshin Impact

I never think about it but samurais Always use the Katana as their final stand weapon So essentially everytime Raiden uses her ult she is essentially doing a final stand This is important because the Katana is what the most versatile weapon and most skilled weapon a Samurai can use
Its kind of cool though because samurai during war mainly use spears and only ever use their sword as a last resort if they have nothing else. Thats basically Raiden in-game. Using her spear then her ult brings out the sword. Though yeah I agree it would be cooler if she was just a sword wielder because she looks more badass wielding a sword.
