Every Panther that spawns is a 3 star, at least in this location because only Florida Panthers spawn here and only one spawns every 3 in-game days and you can't find Florida Panthers anywhere else in the game, hope this helps :)
When hunting and skinning legendary animals, don’t forget the carcasses! They still fetch you a few $$, carry them or steal a horse and make your personal horse follow you with both the pelt and carcass if you have to

Another good spot is in Lemoyne on the road towards that abandoned camp/town across from Lagras....there's a giant tree to the right while you ride the road towards that place if you ride slow enough a panther will tend to spawn by that tree

On the second I got the perfect pelt but was attacked by the freaking Lemoyne riders on my way to Saint Denis and died.. On the third try I had to wait a bit until I saw the panther chasing a deer. Agreed, the best imo is the snakeskin saddle. Good luck on finding enough snakeskin tho. Best snake hunting grounds are the shallow waters of the island across from camp in chapt 2 or the swamp area near the big train bridge.
I finish the game kinda not to long ago but when I was in the epilogue to find the panther legit I had zero luck on finding the panther no matter how much I did it just won’t spawn for some reason so i practically had to go back and start from scratch to go and find the panther and do the whole story again.

It's easier to just ride into the area and wait til you see the red dot appear then waste him baiting him takes way longer and sometimes it doesn't even show up you can use a deer carcass if you skin it there it works as well but again takes longer If it's not showing its likely cause of a camp nearby and if you ride out of the area and back it will appear
Have a poisoned arrow and go to the panther location and ride your horse around the panther area. He will attack you but you have decent time to attack him with the poisoned arrow anywhere wait for him to die and congratulations you got a perfect skin (Sorry about my English)
I do like saddle but however I'd like to custom my own saddle. You know, customize picking up your own saddle saddle pad the stirrups, the bridle the bed roll and the saddle bag.

It’s a legendary animal so it doesn’t matter you will always get a perfect pelt. You also need to reach level 10 in the hunter challenge before it will appear to you!
There’s a another location where it spawns as well I had some trouble at this location but went to this other spot and it was instantaneous it’s north of the extremely tiny church which is north of Saint Denis on the banks of the river. If you remember the side mission where the guy photographs different predators it’s near that. There is a video already on the location I mentioned by Tony strongstyle

The rattlesnake saddled in my opinion is cooler. And I can make that claim because I got all the saddles you can make anyway.
I prefer the rattlesnake vaquero saddle, it looks so badass but collecting that many snakeskins was annoying af.

Another note it’s best to use a bow with poison arrows! You can make them with oleander, which is found around the swamps east of Rhodes

It's a normal panther pelt. Is it More easy than it seems, you can rewatch the video for the names of the pelt.
You don't need to do any of that. Just get a scoped rifle, stand on the triangular bit of grass in the road and wait. The Panther will come to you.
