- It's been a long off season but we are back. This is the first video of season 4, shot on a beautiful sunny day here in southeastern Pennsylvania.Thank you for joining us on another sealcoating adventure. This was a pretty difficult job due to the fact that a was sealing new asphalt. This driveway is about a year old and it was extremely porous. It took a lot of material, but came out just the way I had hoped. It was chilly in the morning but there was a good bit of wind which makes the sealer dry faster. Let me know in the comments what you think. If you have any suggestions or requests leave them there, too. ✌️

The product we are using is: Asphalt Emulsion
What is an asphalt emulsion?
Asphalt emulsion is a combination of three basic ingredients; asphalt, water, and small amount of an emulsifying agent.
Why use asphalt emulsions?
Asphalt emulsion does not require a petroleum solvent to make it liquid and in most cases asphalt emulsions can be used without additional heat. Both of these factors contribute to energy savings. Additionally, asphalt emulsions offer great flexibility in their application since they offer the end-user a great variety of characteristics not found in other paving and maintenance materials. Asphalt emulsions are environmentally friendly. There are little or no hydrocarbon emissions created with their use.

What is SEALCOATING and why should I do it?
1. Sealcoating protects and prolongs the life expectancy of asphalt pavement by filling surface damage and providing a protective layer to keep out damaging UV rays, vehicle fluids, and water.
2. The low cost of regular sealcoating can save you money in the long run. A properly maintained and sealed asphalt surface has an extended lifetime and reduces long-term repair costs.
3. With exposure to the elements, asphalt pavement over time becomes faded in appearance. A fresh sealcoat application enhances the appearance of asphalt, making it look and wear like new.
4. Sealcoating is typically done using one of two application methods: spray or squeegee/brush.
5. Sealcoating accelerates the melting process of snow and ice on pavement surfaces. This helps to protect against water penetration, rain, frost and snow damage.
6. To correctly complete the sealcoating process, the air and pavement temperature is recommended to be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for the duration of the application and for eight hours following the application.
7. Prior to pavement sealing, the asphalt surface should be cleared of all dirt and debris. In addition, minor repairs, like potholes and cracks, should be filled and vehicle fluids, like oil, should be properly removed.

This guy has been one of the stars of the pandemic, who would have known seal coating was interesting, well it has. The phrase ' watching paint dry ', is not apt here, I like watching the longer videos, all the best , from SCOTLAND,
😂 thanks, John.
No problem Greg,
Omg! Finally you are back so good to see you. Please keep them coming iv missed your videos 😂😊❤
I will
Same here, so happy that SEALCOATING IS LIFE is back!
Exterior Rejuvenation at its finest
My gosh, the attention to detail is just incredible! 😍
Excellent job. Never thought ide find such joy in your videoes. Welcome back! Making driveways shine again! When you got that perfect line on sidewalk my mind just shouted "BUTTER" 😆Hope this season brings massive jobs your way!
Thanks, Elliot. We’ve got some big things brewing for this year. Let’s Go!
*WELCOME back.... yay so good to see you back showing us the big jobs... Thanks for making us watch right right to the end of the video, to see you doing the final details of painting the seal-coat on around the edging blocks. Then also the quick run thru of what needed to be done. PS: The job looks AWESOME.*
Good job and God bless you
Thanks for watching!
Hey Greg, you rock bro! Greetings from 🇧🇷. God bless you and your family for the whole new season.
Bom dia, my friend. Thanks for watching and same to your family.
Looking good bud!!! Had to watch and it's slowly getting myself pumped for sealing in twin cities MN. The weather is still not good to start sealing yet. Sometime.... Sometime.
So glad I found your channel. I used to seal coat a while back and still love the smell and seeing it done. You guys use the same brushes and finish technique as I did. I’m in Florida now and these guys just don’t get it. They hammer the curbs and grass with it, looks awful after.
Happy birthday!! 🥳🎂😊
Thank you 😊
Love it❤ so glad your back😊
Hi, Annette
Beautiful
Thanks, Stephanie
That WAWA Coal-Tar Blend is my go-to on those hot mornings. Goes down smooooooth!! 17:54
Good Work 🫶🏽
Thank you
Hi Greg, good to see you again, i hope a hole new season to come, great job you did, i enjoyed it, thanks for showing, greetings from the Netherlands 👍😀💪 🫂 15:59
Johann! It’s been a while. I hope things are good on your side.
The new camera angle is nice.
Recommendation could be to switch it up if you can. Maybe get it lower on the broom if it won't get in the way of you working. I still like the head cam, but I think it would be nice to have different angles for different videos and help give each video a different feel to it.
Keep it up!
I like that. 👍
WOOOHOOO 🎉 I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO COME BACK!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ YES!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Belo trabalho! Um abraço do Brazil!🇧🇷
👋🏻
glad you are back to work.........
It’s time
Hi.. welcome back! Why did you spend so much time near the garage doors? What was the purpose for measuring the temperature?
Thats just how long it took to get it right. It was new asphalt and had large aggregates. You'll see the difference in drying time when I show the driveway temp is 120 degrees.
That poor thristy asphalt is glad to see you back.
It needed it
доброй ночи, снова мажем битумом дорогу 😉
Yes sir
Welcome back brother🫡🙌🏽💯
Thanks
Yesirrrrrr I sealcoat as well and I always like the videos man
Thanks. Where do you seal?
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE out of Michigan we just started up a few days ago
Nice. Are you making creating social media content?
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE not yet but I plan to in the future
So happy to have you back! I like the brush cam - does it get in your way at all? Question: In the little area between the house and garage, did you use the narrow, long-handle brush that was used in "The Great Valley" around the drain, or did you use the paintbrush? I know it takes a lot of your time to put these videos together, but I - and everyone else! - appreciate that you do. (281K followers, whaaaaat?? 😊)
I'm moving to GA from Hawaii, and I have a feeling our new house is gonna need a sealcoating job.
✌️
✌️
Great job as always! Do you need to do anything to your rig for winter?
Yes. We need to remove all the liquids for the tank, brush box, compressors etc. Everything get a tarp and we just try and start the diesel engine every couple weeks while it’s not in use.
❤❤❤😊
Thanks for watching, Betty 😊
Безупречная работа
Like the new camera view. But need more video time with the brush. Also the sound with the brush is nice...
👍
Man I have been watching your videos for a while now, not sure why because I know nothing about sealcoating but I find them memorizing. One question, I've seen other videos and they are spraying, but you guys don't. Is brushing a better quality finish, or whats the difference?
New video!
yes sir
Just did my first job of the season yesterday. 2 coats
2 coats brush or spray?
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE brush. I like how you keep yours in water. Good idea
Nice work starting in season 4. How many gallons of emulsion does your truck tank hold, about 500? Thanks.
550, but we usually only fill to about 525.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE thanks Greg!
Great job! What is the name of that coating so I can find it in Europe. Thanks
Asphalt Emulsion
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE thank you!
Hey, what kind of broom do you guys use? And where did you get them from?
Email me
What about your personal life
Will you do a video on it?
Yes
Do you just remove the tip from the sprayer or that a different piece of equipment that puts the sealer out?
Yes
I’ve never noticed before…but is the material you use thick? Seemed like it was a struggle to move the brush
It was the asphalt. This driveway was extremely porous, like pushing on sandpaper.
How much water do you add to your sealer? I use Sealmaster and it sets up within minutes
I couldn’t say on here, the sealcoat police would get me.
What kind sealer do you use?
My favorite RUclips channel ❤
Where’s your partner?
He was golfing 🏌️
Where do you buy you sealer from ?
Saw you use a thermometer gun on the driveway at 2:48 showed 87 deg. What is range you are looking for and what do you do if its above or below? Thanks
So, the asphalt is always going to be hotter than the air temp during our season. If it’s above 55 (air temp) I know we’re good to seal. Thats the manufacturer’s recommendation.
We’ll always sealer the darker driveways first, because they are going to heat up the most. Blacktop can get to 130 in full august sun here. It gets HOT
we just need the asphalt to be above 55f and anything over 120f is too hot to seal.
What brand hose reel and hose do you use is that a 100’??
Cox reel
Can you sealcoat concrete driveways the same way? I am interested in sealcoating but most driveways in my area are concrete
With concrete sealing you’re just pump-spraying a liquid. It’s a much easier process.
I don't know if I'll get an answer on this but I have a friend that got his place sealed last year and still it has some soft spots that won't harden I was wondering how I could help him fix it, he is an old veteran that screwed over by a fly by night company. If you have anything to help that would be amazing

Hey how much a size like this cost
Sticking with AE again this year?
Yes sir
I enjoyed working with it last year. I’ll be sticking with it this year as well. Good luck this season man 🤘🏼
How much money do you make a year doing this?
💰
Do you think that it would be a good business to have as a 16-year-old that has a good work ethic and that has enough money saved up to start the business
The smell of the tar is affecting you
It’s not tar, but thank you. 🙏🏾
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE thanks for the correction
what happen if rained?
After it’s dry, nothing.
Didn’t you have your helper with you today?
My partner? No, solo that day.
Nice job as always ,can you provide info on the brushes you use ?

Hi Maria. Welcome back!
If you have videos of nothing but first person view, I would watch from beginning to end. I find it relaxing with the sounds of the sealcoating. I don't particularly like the video footage from so far back.
I have a few of them. “Soak City” is the most popular one.
Something seemed a little off. I definitely did not like the camera mounted on the broom handle. Too much turning a swirling. I was starting to get motion sickness. I also think I missed your partner. I love the finely choreographed dance you two do. It’s amazing to watch.
