Purpose
- Cooling and lubrication of secondary seal faces.
- Remove heat from primary seal chamber.
- Zero process emissions to atmosphere.
- Can operate at below atmospheric pressure.
- Higher pressure capability compare to Plan 53A.

Is it possible to change the plan 52 with the plan 53 in an existing crude oil pump knowing that the crude oil contains some salt and sand that block the spring to work properly and make failure in the first stage (tendem cofiguration) and buffer fluid is contaminated quickly ?
Can we avoid this problem by plan 53 ?
