I’ve started these videos so you can get the most out of your Cigar Box Guitar and Shovel.
In this lesson we work on the classic Bo Diddley tune using one chord. The solo is slide on the 12th and 10th fret.
THANK YOU, Uncle Mark - Видеоклипы
I learn the rhythm as shave and a haircut two bits.

Hi Mark
I've been struggling to hack the Bo Diddley beat for months and could never get it to sound right. Thanks to your tip about palm muting I've finally cracked it.
Cheers from the UK
I'm glad I could be of help....cheers from NY
Thanks, Mark. I like your philosophy mixed in.
Glad to hear it!
Just got me a one string fretless , trying this out now 😊
Thanks again Uncle Mark 🤗👍🇬🇧
Sounds great
Mark, one of the things I enjoy about your lessons is the history aspect you teach. Example: Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, etc.
Thanks
If I could learn this one song I would never have to watch TV again
Keep at it....you can do it!
Just bought my first fretless today. Let the good times roll. Thanks Uncle Mark for another great lesson. Definitely not as easy as it looks.
You can do it!
Thanks for this one, dude! Especially like the help learning how to palm mute these things :)
Another great lesson Mark!
You rock! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks
I can’t believe I just discovered you. Where have you been my whole life!
I've got a lot of playlists.... look there and welcome aboard!!!
.just started playing 3string cbg, it was the catchy strumming patterns of the old blues songs that really got me aching too play.
Great advice on developing skill in the pattern. Muscle memory takes more than just a few iterations (or sessions).
Looking forward to more!
Thanks...
What kind of cigar Box strings do you use
Stringjoy in Nashville 42 34 24. I buy individual strings.

What is the length do you use from nut to bridge? Also how big is the Cigar Box?
I don't know....I just play them, I don't build. It's a Robs CBG from reverb.com
@@unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson thank I'll go check then out.. Keep the teaching coming!
Good stuff Mark, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I cant play it
Keep trying... you'll get it, some take longer than others
Uncle Mark thanks for the excellent tips & performance. That fretless cigarbox guitar is killer! Is that a Rob instrument? That dark brown sticker thing at the rear, is that a palm rest. Your name on the fretboard is a cool 😎 factor bonus!
Yes it’s a Rob’s, no palm rest. Cheers.
@@unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson Thanks for the reply. That fretless cigarbox guitar definitely is nice!
I have a VOX mini 3 G2. I almost feel my strings are too close to the fret. It never sounds like your's no matter what I do. I have tried brass, steel, ceramic and glass slides to no avail. Its very frustrating. Are there certain settings on the VOX for optimal sound performance? I also have Pevey or SP10 amp I could use. I have nothing too fancy. Any suggestions or help you provide would be appreciated.
@@cmmbsnyder55 I know nothing of the Vox..... I've never owned one, sorry. A lot of slide tone is accrued over years of playing. a lot of years. Keep working at it, one day it will all come together..... that's actually what happened to me.
Cheers
@@cmmbsnyder55 yes it is..... Rob is a master builder
Great job teaching us Mark. We appreciate it!
