    My area in Florida is just sand and water....until you get to 60 feet then it's bedrock....only commercial drilling can get past that....period....so everywhere it's different... my home I had in Connecticut had gravel for 300ft then suddenly they hit an underground river...the stones came out polished...the water was coming out of the well after the drilling stopped. The drilling company never seen one like it, pumped it for an hour, a 500 gallons a minute..6 inch 324 ft artisan well...didn't even need a pump...only for pressure....the earth is a world underneath of so much plenty....a master Creator was the Almighty engineer.

    I bought land in Cleveland Texas and i am very close to the trinity river and also very close to lake sam .. because of this location do you think I will have far to drill for water there? A person from there calls it trinity valley and he says it may flood the area at times.

      No, your water will be quite shallow. 20-30' would probably be enough. But surely 50 will do it.

    So what I wanted to ask was....
    Once you do hit water, how far do you want to go beyond that to think of over time how you may be depleting the water level in the well? Isn't it better to go beyond the initial water contact line a certain point to plan for the future? And if you did how far would be appropriate, in terms of well long term use physics?
    Also, when you look at sand point well hammer point systems, they have this certain area that has screened holes after the first bit of the tip. I was curious to think about this... would it be ideally better to have those screened tiny holes, slits, etc go all the way up the well? Or would you get comparable results with them only at the ends when comparing having a large area to them to only a few feet?
    I'm also curious why people only do one well on a property and don't think that maybe in long term use they might have an alternate well, to let the well rest and replenish itself sometimes?

      @nathanielburson8929 2 года назад +1

      Ordinary domestic users don't really depress the water table. Only massive industrial wells do that. The well doesn't need to rest, it doesn't work that way. Generally, you want to go deeper than the water level by 20-50 feet, depending on how much water is there, so that you have plenty for pumping and drawdown. The slits typically go have the well or 50', whichever is more.

    I am very interested in the potential of the product on my property. I understand what it is and the limits of it's capabilities. I believe the drilling will work well on the very sandy loam of my property. Most area wells are about 50 feet but start hitting water as early as 10-12 feet. My concern is not the drilling. I believe with time and patience you will get a deep hole in the ground that will reach good water. My overwhelming concern is cave in. Sandy walls and moisture do not tend to hold up well and I don't want a $700 experimental drill head stuck irretrievably in a 40 foot hole. I have seen several video of folks having their 4 inch hydro drilling PVC permanently stuck in the ground 20 feet down from cave in. How does one avoid the sides caving in and losing the drill bit and motor?

    • @HowToDrillAWell
      @HowToDrillAWell  5 лет назад +4

      If you follow the rules, cave ins are rare. Caveins happen because there is an empty space, and the dirt falls in to fill it. To counteract that, we keep the hole full of water at all times, and use drilling mud, which raises the specific gravity of the water significantly making it far less likely to have a cave in.

    My sister needs this information as she thinks all water is potable, and doesn't need treatment!
    ALL Well Water must be tested!
    At work, our well is over 660 From Deep, but still has high nitrates (Ag Farm Area very close by).

    I want to drill a well to keep my pond full when we have a drought, if the pond has a slight leak wouldn't the water from the leak go back into the aquifer? So really just rotating the water?

    • @nathanielburson8929
      @nathanielburson8929 2 года назад

      More or less, yes; however some is lost due to evaporation. How much depends on a lot of factors - heat, wind, surface area, etc.

    This man does not know about PRIMAL water ...there is not only water coming from rain run off but very ancient very old very pure water...this water has often NEVER hit the earth yet. He calls it an artesian well but it's not as rare as this man states. They are finding these veins in Africa, on mountaintops. They do not want people to be aware of this...God gave us an abundance of water. Look into Primal Water to learn more...

    Hey there ,how well would a submersible pump 1 1/2 hp ,8 in case with slots in the first 10 ft ,40 ft water level ,2 in pipe down to 90 ft, 100 ft deep sand type only hole . Do you think it will pull to much sand? Thanks tank.

    • @HowToDrillAWell
      @HowToDrillAWell  8 лет назад +2

      It depends on the well - generally sand diminishes over time as a well is pumped out. But it may take months or years.

    It's scary that you said 100 ft. to hit water because I just bought a well drilling kit that only goes down 25 ft. to try and hit water in Dell City, TX. If I don't hit water I will probably die on that land. :(

    In California central valley fruit basket of the world we have been in a servicer drought for over six years with no mountain snow fall in Yosemite Valley. The water table is low, during the 1940s central valley of California, water/table was 30ft now you need to go down 300ft to 500ft city's are going 5,000ft in the central valley of California.

    Not every piece of land on earth has potable (drinkable) water under it.. you are misleading people and I know of young people that sit back and go oh look at this property for sale... doesn't it have a pretty view.... let's buy this land to build on... only to find out that they can't get water that they could drink.

    • @900stx7
      @900stx7 3 года назад +1

      Did you watch the video ?
      He never says it's potable, just that it's water. It may have sand or iron.
      If you buy land and drill a well based on one video you have bigger problems .
