    Very good shoe, i ran my best marathon yesterday in these, the collar needs work though, it digs into the Achilles. Plenty cushion, the tight forefoot is now adequate after 165km, I'll probably run Comrades marathon in it next month (caveat- slow runner's viewpoint)

    Here in the Philippines puma running is not that popular. Still Nike and Adidas are the dominating brand. People don't know what they're missing. I have the deviate nitro 2 and the elites. I enjoy both. Deviate for tempo runs and the elites I mainly use for my brick training. Running off the bike with them is very easy.
    And I totally agree that they're "fun" shoes.
    Great video fordy more power 👊🏽

      @erinbanana I only have the elite v1 and deviate nitro 2s. If you want a lil room on the toebox then I suggest go for the deviate nitro 2.

      @erinbanana go for them. Those are so versitile. Easy,tempo,long runs.. can do it all. I have the fast-r nitro elite but haven't yet to try them.

    Love the vid Fordy. I'm addicted to parkrun and fairly early in my journey (about 40 done), but looking for a shoe to push me on a little bit. Done about 100km in my Adios 6 so far, and looking at either the DNE 2 or Takumi 8/9 as a next step. Any advice? Adios has a lot of life left in it, so perhaps I hold onto them for a bit longer, especially until my times plateau!

      Thank you

    • @scottfinlayson8920
      @scottfinlayson8920 Год назад +1

      Definitely the Takumi 8 or 9 for Park Run as they will last forever doing park runs. They have enough lightstrike pro midsole cushioning go 5k, 10k or half marathon distance if you needed to but they are slightly lower stacked so are more nibble for more turny courses like a lot of park runs are. The grip is pretty good as well. I felt the puma V1 lacked the push off and punch to be a good race shoe, I felt you had to really put in more just to get the same results as other shoes at easier efforts. Doesn't sound like the V2 has changed much either. Decent enough shoe but not a top race day shoe but priced up that end anyway.

    • @davidg61
      @davidg61 Год назад

      @@scottfinlayson8920 thanks Scott this is really helpful. As it happens, it looks like the Takumi 8 is slightly cheaper in my size, and looks almost identical to the 9.

    • @scottfinlayson8920
      @scottfinlayson8920 Год назад +1

      Yeah think there is only an upper difference between the 8 and the 9 so if you can get a good price on the 8's then it's worth while just going with them as the upper on them caused me no trouble at all. Only thing I done was change out the laces for another pair I had and the lock down was top notch after that.

  • @scottfinlayson8920

    Was that the Puma Fast Fwd Nitro elite that you put in the screen for a second or two there Fordy? I've not seen much reviews of them and they have been out for a while now, £200 is quite a scary price for a 5-10k racer though. Quite the gamble on little info although I do like the look of them.

    I have 2 pairs of the first version.
    If only there was more heel stability, that would be a perfect training shoe. Maybe the best. Plus, it's very fast, I like the geometry. It's not too aggressive, therefore good for training. If only these shoes were more stable in the heel, I know I'm repeating myself.
    The price is fantastic. When I see all the EVA crap that is priced 160 € and more, and the first version of this shoe could be found for much less, oh man.
    If you are runner, you have to be dumb not to get 1 pair of these with such discount. Even more in the UK where it is even much cheaper than on the old continent.
