I think he was getting the roles and recognition. If he continued on, he would have won a few Oscars. A talent taken from us too soon. There were performances he still had to make. So sad he won't be able to now.

I've grown to be a big Michael K Williams fan over the years, love him in everything I've seen him in, from old "Law & Order" appearances, to "The Wire", to "Boardwalk Empire" ("Chalky White", what a great character name!), to "Hap and Leonard". Kudos to him for not being afraid to play gay characters. He has real screen presence, and I hope we continue to see him in a lot of varied roles.
This is part of why I will miss you. Rest in Peace, Michael. You are loved.

From what I remember, he was partying at a bar when he turned 25 and some riff raff outside were fuckin' with his friends. He'd stepped out and heard commotion, so when he went over to intervene, one of the antagonistic fellows pulled his hand back to hit Michael, and Michael didn't see that he'd spit a razor into the space in between his fingers. Swiped him like his face was a credit card slot.
