I swear that it happened to me. I was just practising holding a single note, for as long as i could repeatedly, at the beggining on my singing experience, then i heard some kinds of sound reflections/treble shimmering "inside the note", which after research turned out to be obviously overtones.
It probably seems more extraordinary if you’re not the type of person to experiment with their voice, especially if you don't have a natural talent for making sounds. If you think of any of those guys that can make mimic all manner of sounds (like the classic Michael Winslow from Police Academy) or expert beatboxers it's not that hard to imagine that they could discover different forms of throat singing styles, even polyphonic tones.
Good Lord! This must be the most the most intereresting music I have ever heard. What is so weird is that my uncle received the highest award that can be bestowed on a forreigner from the King of Mongollia for his geological explrorations there. I stubmbled upon throat singing quite by accident. But I sort of feel like it is just a universal way to sing among people who spend a lot of time outside.
a group of jolly cowboys on the franklin ranch one night, their heads up on a saddle and a campfires burning bright. some were telling stories and some were singing song, and some were smoking cigarettes while the others rolled along... *throat singing*. at once they began to talking of distant friends so dear, a boy raised his head from his saddle and brushed away a tear... this boy was tall and handsome, and his face showed a life of good cheer. his eyes were all but heavenly blue and he had light wavy hair. *yodeling*. We asked him why he left his home, it being so dear to him. he raised his head from his saddle with tears his eyes grew dim... as he raised his head from his saddle and he gazed (the right over the horn?rough gried horn? I take it to meaning looking over the saddle horn), said boys ill tell you the reason why I stay at home no more... *throat singing* *part 2* I fell in love with the neighbors girl, her cheeks was fair as wine. another fellow loved this girl and it ended in a fight. this fellows name was tommy smith and we had been great chums, we shared eachothers troubles boys, we shared each others hearts(or bond?)… it almost makes me shudder, to think of that sad night when tom and I was quarelling, I stabbed him with my knife. I fell on my knees beside him and tried to stop the blood that flowed down so gently it was like crimson flood. *throat singing* I can almost hear old tommys voice as the boys all gather around, saying bob ol boy youll remember when I am under the ground. now boys you know the reason why that I'm compelled to roam, and why I am so far away from dear old home sweet home *yodeling*

Wow, i wonder how he heard of / learnt Tuvan Throat Singing in 1929.
he came to this technique on his own, according to my research... i doubt he even knew what a mongolian was :)
Yeah he figured it out on his own. :D Its certainly the sygyt style.
I know! It's one of American Music's great mysteries to me! Where and how did Arthur Miles learn ancient throat-singing?!
Are we sure that he had never been in Asia?
It's not throat singing, it's overtone singing in this case
Quien viene por Cocóptero? Canción genial👌

Sounds like humming and whistling at the same time - throat singing is very different.
