"Regretful Blues" Nora Bayes 1918 Columbia A6038 Words by Grant Clarke Music by Cliff Hess I never minded my mother. I never minded my dad. I used to fight with my brother dog-gone, I was terrible bad. I ran away from the teacher. I never cared much for school. But you can bet it I oft regret it for being such a fool. I'd weep an ocean of tears when I looked back at those years. I’ve been a lon...

These Johnson Lang recordings are priceless, and a master's class in how to play a duet.
Good on you Cliff ,G ant & Wilbur's band ,if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have been lucky to hear this today on Tim's channel. Woo Hoo!
Amazing gov❤ what hoe🎉
Comoooo get da peppa offf theree
Nothing like a bit of swing.
Must have been a big trip !
I discovered Paul Althouse is my 6th cousin 2x removed while working on my family history. Thank you for keeping his music alive!
love how all fnaf analog horrors immediately started using this as the theme for most of their videos' scary parts 😭😭
absolutely CRUCIAL Coleman Hawkins solo, pointing the way from Satchmo to Pres
Nice song. Elizabeth Spencer did several duets.😊
God gives me richly all things to enjoy. God want me to prosper as my soul prospers. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his people.
does anybody have any idea what they are saying?
Drums did not record well with the acoustic recording system, so wood blocks were used a lot. In this case, a stock pot i think????
Written by George Gershwin 😊
Many more of these old songs should have been recorded, back when there was someone to actually sing them in the proper manner. Nowadays, forming a trio such as this, with this wonderful vocal technique, would be utterly impossible.
I guess back then you needed strong lungs to be heard. Unfortunately some singers sounded shrill.😢
This is not the Fearis recording. The "announcer" identified the correct vocalists.😊
-__- AI crap
Interesting biography. Sadly ironic they had to 'black up' to make them look like white performers.
Great song!
So this was the biggest song of the time... How is that possible?... Did Maybrick sell his soul to the devil in return for success? And did the devil extract his claim to that soul during the "sprees?"
It sounds like "Alabama register" and "Alabama everywhere" Yet all the lyrics I can find seem to list these silent intermediary words
Beautiful byron g harlan ❤
A singer should sing in music, not speak.
Dubya
Good 😊
You've gotta love the humorous songs sung by Bert Williams! 😅
Why didn't he sing ????
benny goodman - best arrangement of this song.
lovely , a very strong voice and a remarkably clear record. thanks for posting this.
Me: Where is the analysis? Also me: Doi, it's in the description.
This song always makes me weepy.
My first job at The State of Michigan, my boss back then in 1982, introduced me to this song. 😂 Great old song and a great boss. RIP John.
Thank you for posting ! . This song is sung in the British TV comedy " Are You Being Served? " in the episode " Roots " . Mr. Grace's family tree is traced to Sumerset and the song is sung as a tribute to his family for his 90th birthday. But, soon the family is traced back even further !
Missing lyrics at 2:33. Since I am not a native to understand that part
How touching... From my viewpoint, better even than some of the "real", "authentic" Italian tenors. Thanks a lot for sharing.
PIKMIN:
There are a few seconds missing at the beginning. It was recorded 29.06.23.
I have the same blue bell poster but mine has a woman named Kathryn Miley on it on the bottom left, pretty cool

Those lyrics are _so_ R. Crumb. Dig it.
Isaiah 66:24 2nd last part of verse in Isaiah is quoted by Jesus a few times AS hell fire.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. 24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. Yes, this passage mentions unquenched fire. But this Isaiah passage seems to refer to a gathering on earth whereas hell is usually thought of as a separate place, maybe an underworld. Isaiah is not about hell. The Old Testament taught about Sheol, not hell.
"Do i have to sing this stupid song every time i enter a room?" "Its what beans stinkwater would do, so yes"
Thank you for posting this gem.
Hey Joseph!
Hey jeffry
One of the most dramatic songs ever, in my opinion. I've not heard this record previously, so many thanks for posting. The only part that spoils it for me is the pronunciation of 0' in "A touch o' sun".
Nice restoration!
