This is another longform chat about the origins, experiences, and motivations of an Ukraine RUclipsr. i have known Mercado for sometime and I’ve come to like him. He is not without his controversy I admit, but im happy to call him a friend and we have had nothing but good dealings!
This is a chance to get to know the man behind the channel. He has had his challenges and it’s made him who is today.

The shortened version of Japanese is very normal down there and doesn't Carry the hatred and baggage that it did in North America. Here, you don't say it.
Kind of like the word Yankee. Time, place and usage will determine if said in anger or on a baseball jersey.

Brandon, I still follow Max, and I really enjoy his unique way of frontline reporting. Same with Pasha, who had some changes in his life.. he loaded a great stream about the current Kharkiv situation, which is valuable info with all the media and propaganda hype and disinfo. Andryi was the first Ukrainian I followed from Feb 2022. Got to know Max and Pasha and you through Andryi. I also stumbled upon Jake Bro, and all of you are my base for info. Big Mac is another very interesting character, and I actually read up on how he landed up in Ukraine, fascinating!.
I respect you for all you do, from your heart, and your straightforward approach and sharing facts, and jokes and all the incredible Ukrainians you introduce us to ...and not the blood and guts. Thanks for being the person you are 🫡. Proud of you and your focus on making a difference where you are.

I recently got a new job, and I now have two coworkers who are brothers from Ukraine. I haven't talked to them about the war and it's probably better if I don't.

I found Mercado from a Reddit post where someone listed people live streaming in Minneapolis. I was desperate to know what was happening in my city cuz I couldn’t be there to protest. I am a Day 1 supporter because he always will give transparent and true to the moment information. His community is steadfast in their support and it’s well-deserved and earned by Mercado.
Another great conversation, just like the one with Arthur, really enjoyed watching this.
And yes, I don't see other volunteers helping out other volunteers, especially not the way you do. 🤔
(Though some will share their gratitude.)
It was my passive aggressive reflection and frustration when people write to me asking me to help someone else they’ve seen on the internet. I would suggest such people help those volunteers directly. I have no quarrel with anyone, but you’ll not likely see any foreigner in ukraine share Brandon’s efforts or silly hikes or running fundraisers. The main reason I do it myself is in fact for self-preservation. If I think they’re doing something good and honest and I like them I share it, possibly to my own financial disadvantage. It’s the principle of the 3 step, let go and let God.
@@ukraine_tbic Possibly to your own disadvantage yes, but it also makes you trustworthy to us, and thus worth the investment.
And I have seen people tell other volunteers: I support you, but I only donate to Brandon (expecting Reshala to give that volunteer a cut because they saw them in a video once). 😳
People in the end will donate to who they trust. Hence Jake's birthday fundraiser success and Nina's truck that turned into I-lost-count-how-much...

I will be in Ukraine this year, I will make sure I pack stuff for the soldiers.
We just had a fund raising event in our Ukrainian community. The guests of honor were two Ukrainian disabled veterans her for prosthetics. The younger of the two was glade to talk to people after the event. He thanked them for their support. The older of the two stayed silent. The mental pain he must feel is so great. Some just want to be left alone. The incredible defenders of Ukraine will heal differently. Just so they all understand that we have the most respect for them.
