Looks good but why y’all have a whole pantry full of seasonings but only choose to use salt and pepper?? Could have leveled up the flavor with a dash of other seasoning
Just subscribed. From Darlington. Just made a big pot over the weekend. I used Hog Jowls with Onions , Bell Pepper, Celery, and Garlic. V8 juice for the base. But it’s really good either way. Depends on what I have in the fridge.😉
Grew up in Fort Lawn and live in Lancaster. From research I’ve done, it’s a SC thing but ppl in NC make it too. I too have been eating it since I was a kid! Your recipe is very similar to mine.
Heck yeah! Im from St Stephens, SC and my family is big fans of catfish stew! I dont live in SC anymore and now in Alabama but i get homesick sometimes! And i surely wish i had some catfish stew now since its been years when i last had a big bowl of that delicious stew!😊😊😊❤❤❤
😂❤ even though this is two years old I am just washing it for the first time. Trying to use the things that are in my pantry versus going out and spending more money this week.😅 I just wanna add that I love that little head shake at the very end when your husband so politely agree to disagree with his father😂
Hello from Barnwell, SC. I am cooking Catfish stew today for the Carolina / Clemson game tomorrow. This stew is a family tradition for the game. I wish USC willing the game was more of a tradition. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed.
Hey there ! I’m a Lancaster native as well ! Made this stew yesterday after watching your video and it was sooooo good ! Thank you for sharing your recipe !

Hi Carolina, I have a home in Clover, SC. My Mom use to cook Salmon and Bacon stew. I will have to try the catfish version.😁

Dang girl :) Recipe sounds delicious. Like Cioppino or manhattan clam chowder
Hi, I'm in Georgia. I just made a catfish stew last week 🙃! Looks delicious 😋!!
North Carolina here but my great uncle from around the Santee area always used fatback and tomato soup.
In Richmond, Va...we love catfish any way, even stewed!!!
Great recipe. I like to make a catfish boil much like a crab boil. It’s refreshing to see fish not be fried. Thanks and have a blessed Christmas.
That looks amazing! Cornbread or Navajo Indian bread would go good with that.
Perfect recipe. I was going for a Paella but this will turn out great.
