Say you need to spend $1,000 to setup each spot, you charge $100 per spot. You get 10 reservations. That would only cover one spot, now you have to pay $9,000 yourself because you already sold reservations.
I would be better to buy what you can upfront, reserve those out, then use that money to make additional spots.

You'd better make sure your glamping business is going to be permitted by your local jurisdiction BEFORE doing this. The last thing you'd want is for your county to shut you down or even worse, not let you build your glamping site that you've already collected money to build.

this is for a *mobile* glamping business, typically installing tents for short term use on private properties. not destination/permanent camping.

@@kenryoung Even temporary glamping businesses will likely need permitting from the local jurisdiction. For verification, get in touch with your local jurisdiction and let them know what you’d like to do and if there are any requirements to meet for a temporary campsite.

What if they cancel long before the date?

    • @kenryoung

Then you give them a refund...the goal would be to have more then a few pre-bookings so one cancellation doesn't bust the pre launch.

You don’t have to do it! But look up every item on kickstarter…people buy products all the time before they even get manufactured because they want to prove the concept and get market feedback.

You'll probably never own a successful business if you have that mindset. The first thing you should be thinking about when starting any business is 'money in'. How do I get money in NOW. Then use the revenue to make the business what you need it to be long term.

Your acting skills are amazing. You should quit your day job and move to Hollywood. Did you script this yourself? Just wow.
