Touareg LED Tail Lights with Amber Signals 2011-2014 - How to MOD

- This MOD was done on a 2014 Touareg R-line TDI with OEM LED tail lights from North America. The North American models did not get Amber Signals, the outside brake light would flash as the signal.
Here is the coding needed to add amber turn signals to OEM LED tail lights this.
Please note all the channels before changing and keep those numbers just in case you would like to set them back.

189 - stops errors and hyper flash - 65520
195 - rear body left - 5124
196 - rear body right - 5156
207 - rear amber marker left - 12
208 - rear amber marker right - 44

very nice but my question is.. i got 2014 vw passat without amber tail light, its similar to your tails, now i would like to know what bulb socket did you use to fit light bulb on it, and what wires did you use to hook up amber turn signal, did you use one of the red light that is on a side or can you give me more information how i can make amber light on my 2014 vw passat, I really want to have amber, I dont really know why did American passat comes with red, when rest of the world using amber turn signal, I dont think having red turn signal is good idea,
Yes the small red light on the side is what I used and it already had the socket and wiring there, that side one is just connected it. I had to code it to work.
@@MK4moTDI My passat has same side light on the side of tails, so i guess that i can use those wires from side of the tails and tap the amber yellow light to that, Do you know what socket or bulb holder do i need to put the bulb on the socket..
@@user-bs3is1mv6q mine already had a socket attached for that side marker.
I havent taken my tail light out yet, but is that bulb holder already on the existing tail light or did you source it from somewhere?
Bulb holder is being used for the little led on the side of the light.

I am surprised your euro model does not have the amber signals already with led.
@@MK4moTDI It's a 2011 model. Let me know please about 197 and 198 codes in the list are they doing.

@@MK4moTDI I replaced the halogen tail lights with LEDs new style like Touareg CR. Everything works fine but occasionaly I received 00984 and 00985 errors via obd11scaning. Also message appears on the dash for the brake lights. Message disappeared next time start the car, then after a few driving cycles appared again. Next time start the car disappeared and so on. So I'm sure that something goew wrong with hte coding.

I've tried 3 variations of the codes, can't find one that works appropriately yet
Interested to see if you could change the night pattern to eliminate middle part of M and the two dots off and a lllliiiiittttlllleeeee dimmer, so that it's a nice n like opposite Audi of the time and then make the dots the braking lights.
Probably could do something with the coding.

2015+ uses similar method but diffent coding. You would have to see if you could find info on some forums.
