For decades ‘certain men went to these places and didn’t talk about it. Now everywhere you look there’s a RUclipsr running his mouth about checking out this place and that. Pookie and Ray Ray have taken notice and have begun infiltrating these spots and gradually leaving a path of destruction so to speak as they always do (clubs, neighborhoods, and DR for example). These country destinations are gradually responding and who can blame them? Pretty soon there won’t be anywhere to go. It’s sad. There used to be a phrase “Loose lips sink ships”…..
Niggas run their mouth too much smh.
@@marlothedobermantv6992 Very well put!!
You say that as if these places are a secret or should be kept secret the world is here for man to explore and when information is hidden people stay ignorant, it’s equivalent to slave masters not wanting the in slaved people to read so they don’t know anything can’t explore can’t fight or know what options one has. Other groups make way more videos and have traveled more extensively then us new black RUclipsrs the way people behave is a product of their environment and upbringing it’s no fault of the content creators that black people in particular behave in less desirable behavior people like that are most likely in everyone’s family that’s pointing the finger.
People can hunt pookie and Ray Ray out there. That is going to be the thing to do, soon, watch. Ice picks and knives will find their way into their bodies.
@@INTERNATIONALZOE have to disagree. The difference is, unlike you showing us the real side of traveling & exploring different areas in said countries ...alot of these youtubers started out only focusing on the monger side giving out all the secrets in full detail on public platforms. Certain things should be left to behind the scenes. And I'm sure the intent was not for it get to where we are now, but unfortunately they are to blame for opening Pandora's box.
Yeah other groups make more videos & travel more, but these places for what they were ...it was some what of a hidden secret & certain info was only spoken of subliminally like in some of your videos.
Back then it was either word of mouth or you had to join a forum, chat group or such. Now its a free for all...and these "content creators" have basically been giving dudes the stamp of approval to go to these places and act a fool.
Obviously alot of us were taught some act right, but we all know the bad apples always mess it up for everyone else.
Zoe, I saw this coming. I been to Colombia, DR, Brazil multiple of times and over the years I notice the prices going up. I adjusted by trying new countries and here I am in Chile. The entertainment prices are reasonable and it's cheap out. It's the safest country in South America. brothers need to try somewhere other than the big 3
How do you like Chile? It's always been on my list but Paraguay has me hooked.
Boy you pushing that Chile hard❓️😅
How much do you think, Spanish is needed?
Yo how is Chile?
Yo Big Mike I want to start a private conversation 🤔send me your IG or something
I used to think it was RUclips/exposure but I think it’s deeper than that. As Americans have traveled to these places, I think American culture is seeping into the fabric of these locations. If you look at this from above the change happened after the surge in American travelers. They’re adopting American entitlement and arrogance. They’re just being Americans, they’re adapting to American culture. In my opinion they’re mimicking our behavior. We’re teaching them how to treat us.
Spot on....
It issss social media come on brother.....instagram facebook youtube the big 3....
Very smart and insightful comment. Social media is to blame as well. I was in the park yesterday (I am in CO) and saw a young lady walking by doing the "duck face" into her camera while "Selfie walking". I know it's "normal" now, but I was still astonished. They no longer have to "wait and see" what americans are doing, it can be viewed in real time and copied the next day. That's why I also laugh when dudes come here trying to dress fly, as if they're not selling the exact same outfit in El Centro
Maybe you’re right but it’s the American hip hop artist that they are mimicking the music and culture witch is falsified by these artist.
@@INTERNATIONALZOE ain't no "maybe". I saw you on rubber raze podcast last night, but I didn't feel like joining the fray.
Brazil is barely touched tourism wise, most tourists of all ethnic groups haven't made it pass Rio de Janeiro and cobacabana Beach.
Fr it's Rio and mostly Copa/ Ipanema. You have a country the size of the US to explore with an insane amount of coastline where most of the big cities are in the coast.
I’ve been to 5 five cities already most people visit the major cities because that’s where a lot of the flavor is you can’t compare some of those smaller local cities you’ll be bored out of you mind or you have to bring someone with you.
I think that's the same case with Colombia example Santa Marta and Dominican Republic example La Romana. The key is to stay away from tourists areas. There are opportunities like this in most countries especially large countries like Brazil. We ain't even cracking the surface with our small percentage of passports.
@@chillycharles910 Well let’s keep it un-cracked and the passport numbers low. Medellin and Dominican republic seem to be clear indicators that not everyone should have a passport and travel 😂
@@acdsfjhu Agreed
Living in Colombia for over a year I can say the monthly rental prices on Airbnb are ridiculous. Greed is beginning to saturate the local atmosphere.
Capitalism
The Airbnb market might get oversaturated with units. We might see a lot of empty units not being sold if they keep on hiking up these prices
You're absolutely right. These Medellín prices have become out of hand. Most Airbnb prices are nearly the same or higher than paying rent in the US.
It's simple supply and demand Big Zoe... I've been traveling since my days of being in the Navy back in 96' We can't expect to spend Billions of our dollars in a 2nd and 3rd world economies not eventually see those places increase their prices. The key is to travel THE WORLD, not just the big 3. I'm planning multiple trips to Rwanda, Capetown and Nigeria in 2023.
Ex- Navy too you are right brother keep moving to other countries.
Economics may be a subject not too many brothers get. Prices are set when Supply and Demand match or find equilibrium.
So more travellers with an almost fixed stock of goods and services and whatever else some of these brothers buy means prices go up.
I am a little surprised Zo pushes back on the fact that youtubers whether white or black have driven demand high, earned some dollars in the process through viewership but then somehow are surprised prices have risen.
White Americans drove up the prices. Black Americans put the nail in the coffin. Dr is over. Cartagena is over. I know black men drove up the price of Brazil many years ago as well. Don't go where Americans and Canadians go especially blacks. They think they're living in a hip hop video and spend ridiculous prices. The girls attitudes drop as well.
I'm black and I agree with this message. I don't even talk to other Americans over seas.
The problem is that not everyone is made for international travel but they still go and do it and mess it up for real travellers. If you're going to countries just for girls and throw money around you are the problem in my opinion. At the end of the day we can do what we want but there's consequences that come along. Prices go up, our value deminshes in those places and we rub off on them and then get mad at the fact. Everybody is not built for international travel and shouldn't do it is the problem.
You’re exactly right bro.
Too late, I just saw a video of Pookies in Japan fighting on twitter.
@@effyutubeagain1099 Bruh... Are you serious? Damn, I really hope they don't ruin one of my favorite destinations
Pattaya, Thailand was starting to head towards Cartagena and Sosua. Then the pandemic and lockdowns really hit that country hard unfortunately. But fortunately for us it’s back to being great again and a fun and cheap place to go.
And thankfully that flight is far enough that most people in the states will not want to be on a plane for 18 hours.
aint that the truth !
Unlike some of these other countries. Their police are military and they don't play those Cartagena Medellin Sosua games.
Patty has less girls and lower quality now.
The Big 3 been over my guy. When Club Help closed it was a wrap for Rio.IF you never experienced the Bermuda Triangle(Meia Pataca,Copacabana beach,Club Help)around 2005 you wouldn’t understand. When the weekend warriors started to hit Dominican Republic around 2007 it was done. Before prices were dirt cheap and everybody towed the line.Social Media ruined Colombia. Now I spend my time in Dubai,Singapore and Cape Town(Camps Bay).Don’t have to worry about this cause the flights are too long and your paper gotta be right.
I agree that DR prices have drastically increased since I have been going (5+years). Regarding Colombia, I walk a little differently.....travelling to the non- touristy cities where the prices are still extremely reasonable.
This was a grown man conversation. You are spot on. Unfortunately a lot of these guys don't have the discipline or the long term mind frame for this to resonate with them.
Exactly
whaaattt? impoverished prostitutes want more money from the dumb american tricks that are visiting them??
who couldve seen this one coming.😂
@@muzz73 Your judgment of others doesn't change your experience. Wouldn't it be more productive to focus on the live you want to live?
@@muzz73 again. Right over your head. He’s talking about places to stay. Not prostitutes. But everyone else is dumb 🤣🤣🤣
@@KXNG_Clee I don’t think your listening because he talked about the whores as well
As long as the brothas are truly invested in learning the culture and language these places will always be great.
Excellent video! I would recommend mid size cities in ARGENTINA, …Santa Cruz Bolivia, and another classic is Guayaquil, Ecuador…finally can’t forget Florianopolis and other smaller towns in Brazil.
No other foreigners, off the beaten path, something different.
As for me, I’ll stick to Thailand, the prices haven’t changed in 20 years, and the level of service, safety, and overall chill factor are next level.
Haven’t been to Thailand and Philippines in Years…..Time to head back out there, I just hate the long journey to get there. The N-words who were complicit in the destruction of the Big 3 Ain’t traveling that far…..at least most ain’t.
Bangkok is the most visited country in the world. The girls there are starting to become spoiled as well.@@Sidewinder528
✊🏾🖤 the only difference I believe is that when people refer to the big 3 they are mostly only talking about the big tourist destinations in the big 3 places Sosua, Cartagena / Medellin and Rio de Janeiro .. but the mostly say Colombia Brazil and Dominican Republic .. that ends up unfortunately Miss summarizing and entire country as 1 or 2 cities .. I don't know much about DR but I know the price in Cartagena is no where near the same in Barranquilla or Cali .. the Price in El Poblado is no where near what they are asking for in Laureles or Sabenta ... and the Price in Rio is not the Same as Sao Paolo and from what Ive heard Bahia...
Correct I didn’t consider making that distinction I just assumed it would be understood I was referring to the major cities.
I had been living in Colombia since January 2021 until September 2021 (Half my time spent in Medellin). Spent my last 4. months in Bucuramanga and Barranquilla. Medellin prices and pookies have messed up the game in El Poblado IMO.
The big 3 isn't over. I will say that the hotspots in the big 3 are done. There are other places to go. The issue is many people want ease of access and not speak the language.
I'm loving Barranquilla right now. No tourists around and women very appreciative and friendly. Hotel $30 a night.
@@grownmanmoney I've heard good things about Barranquilla.
Zoe - I met you at 808 about a month ago.
I was living in Colombia since January 2021. Been in Thailand just over a month. I must agree, i saw the prices of everything skyrocket especially in Medellin. This is a big reason why I decided on SE Asia for a while. Colombia greed it out of control right now!
It's a wrap for me unless I stay 6 months are longer, that's the only way you really get your money worth as far as rental
Great breakdown Zo!
I appreciate your honesty and insight I've never been to those places but thx for the heads up.
My friend got a place in Sosua for $265 monthly and near where everything is. It even comes with a small kitchen. But I agree with Zoe Barber-world, the big three have gotten greedy.
I was in Sosua couple of months ago and boy, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I felt the decline in the value of the dollar. Dead AF
That’s the facts Zoe I’m with you all the way there👍🏾
man i been having this conversation for about a year and a half now. Everybody in Sosua is overcharging now. housing, food, taxi, rental cars, and especially the chicas.
I returned from Florence, Italy. The food and drinks were great. My simple breakfast was $3, lunch less than $10. I would have dinner for two with wine, cost from $30 to $60. The $60 were multi-course meals. One week in Airbnb near the sights, $850. Now, I had my sand for the beach, with me, already. lol
No you just have to know how to move and limit who you hangout with. I'm a solo traveler I went to Cartenga Colombia in April for over a week by myself first ever time in Colombia. Had a great time hanging out and meeting people didn't get drugged. Why because I know how not to draw a lot of attention on my self. I always travel by myself I go to Dominican Republic a lot hangout with a female friend I know we chill out no drama no chaos. So guys are just don't get it you have to not leave your brain at home when you travel!!!!
Your comment has nothing to do with this video, but glad you enjoyed Colombia
Great information and insightful.
Zoe: What's up? This is Michael D. We talked about South Africa for a minute at 808 about four weeks ago. I agree with the essence of this video. This isn't just about inflation. The game on the ground is changing. As more and more of us visit these countries the less unique and rare we become. It's shocking sometimes to hear what the ladies are expecting now. Not to mention the service is constantly degrading. No doubt we're under appreciated and taken for granted! I guess their attitude is "another player is just around the corner!" By the way I would add Mexico to the list. So, it is all about the less beaten path, if you seek value for your hard earned Dead Presidents...
You would add Mexico to the list? Okay, let me hear what Zoe got to say. I stopped watching his videos when he ventured out to Asian countries. And his journeys into the Dominican Republic didn't excite me. I love it when he goes to Columbia and Brazil. He hasn't visited Black Africa much. I guess there's not much to see there. Europe is turning fascist (can you blame them. LOL)...? But I'm not interested in visiting Europe anyway, so...!
Peace.
The scene changed in Thailand in around 2015, prices for 'entertainment' doubled from 2014-2016 personally I blamed the Japanese and US '2 week millionaire syndrome'...
I thot I was the only one thinking this ! You are spitting facts 💯! These Colombian girls are feeling themselves, they got the western mindset now! I’ve met so many feminist. I will be heading to Eastern Europe now! The BIG 3 is over for me. They are starting to charge Vegas prices!
Facts I like Eastern Europe more, polish women are checking hard for brothers, and it’s much safer
@@clairvoyantcrypto4577 Why did you not mention Western Europe parts...Just asking?
@@therealcpshow7386 western is still good, but Eastern Europe has less feminism, and more traditional women, and brothers are more exotic to them

I think we must explore new places to get back that thrill of traveling..
I think it’s just inflation. I was in Brazil in February and May and it still seemed like I was spending Brazil type of spending

We have a new digital age. Nomads are everywhere. I've lived in all the big three and I'm over it. I'll stay in SE Asia til that gets overran by social media influencers, pookies and Rae Rae's.
I stayed in Rio for about 2 months 3 months ago and the vibe felt different from the “entertainment” perspective. Keep in mind this was my 7th trip and I always stay over a month. A few Brasileiras who I was with before had changed up their pricing. One got me good and did so after we had our fun. From 300rs to 400rs. I argued a bit but just took my L. I had known this chic since 2019 too. Brazilian chics are becoming very hardcore. Many will even go home empty handed instead of accepting 300rs. 4 years ago, they’d be happy or even lucky to get 200rs.
Too many 7’s & 8’s in Dolce asking for 500rs. I easily walk away. There’s too many options in Rio to overpay really.
Your keeping it real many of these RUclipsrs are paying for play they should come out and admit.

The title of this video should have been « The party is over »😂😂
Great channel brother
These places are simped out. I believe brothers need to spread out and diversify. I will be heading to Peru soon
The same thing happened to Costa Rica. It was once a hot spot for American retirees, but that drove the price up. And I doubt not going for a while will bring the cost down. Either way, for those who got it like that, it works in their favor because it weeds out the Riff Raff.
Costa Rica is cool
💯
Stiller cheaper and better than USA.
Im white British age 68, spent 25 years in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines i came back to the UK age 61. I agree with everything you say and can also say its a similar story in the far east. Ive never been to Latin America but was pondering with the idea however this video has helped me think about things further, thanks for a great video.
I feel you Zo, guys should let the big three breath for a year or so. Me and my boys won’t be back in Colombia until 2024.
Facts💯
It does seem, like in certain parts of the certain main places, that numbers of others are feeling themselves in taking that there looks only is all they needed and taking for granted, Bros overall will just keep, tolerating that. Which numbers will, but hopefully, there will some more, that are like, wait, A Bro(s) reality thinking ones, that they don't need to sweat them, if they dont even sweat ones in the states.
Why?
This what cats get especially y'all youtube dudes lol I seen it with Taylor Made in Sosua I was there before and after him and seen how things started fucking up smh Idk why y'all can't keep places like these on the low instead y'all telling thousands of dudes y'all don't know personally to come down? make it make sense
The internet has been good and bad...the continual highlighting of these places sent the numbers sky-high
Good video Zoe. I was living in Brazil for a year and some change last year. This is why I avoid tourist areas.

Think you're on to something here my G. The dating market top end value is becoming inflated in the Caribbean and South America. I completely agree with you on this topic right here. I think the top 3 is played out. Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Eastern Europe, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile are far better options for the sophisticated black dollar. I appreciate your insight my brother. Keep up the great work
I would add whichever other places in certain parts of Africa also.
🤔
Try east Africa... tanzania in particular you won't be Disappointed
I just saw a video on twitter of Pookies from America fighting locals in Japan… 😬
What made you mention some of those other places. Have you also visited some of them?
The problem is that we flock when something is new. Since 2012, R.D. has been ambushed by the brother and it shows..they don't even have to speak Spanish anymore. Cartagena was unheard of for brother and them BOOM 💥 WE ALL THERE. We have to change and quit flocking. And most of all learn a second or third language.
And now the same thing's happening in Thailand. Pattaya specifically
@@-.-_-. i think the problem too is that everybody is not made for international travel. I pride myself on the interactions I have with the people, speaking their language and partaking in the culture as opposed to those who come to buy girls and nothing more. The second hurts our image and creates a horrible cultural effect for those countries, but at the end of the day it's their choice. But everyone is not made for international travel and I stand by that!
@@d-dubb2.02 it’s so cringy watching RUclips vlogs of brothers speaking broken Spanish to Portuguese speaking People and being confused when the Brazilians look at them crazy. 😂

I agree 💯% with you 👍🏾
What's up brother Barber world Zoe. We miss you in the DR bro. Take care.
The Dominican Republic is more than Sosua.
Colombia is more than Parque Lleras and Clock Tower.
Brazil is more than Copacabana.
Explore the country beyond the tourist trap areas. The ongoing increase prices you pay are based on the popularity of these area not the country.
💯
Int'l Zoe, great video and insights.. I think it's about time..there are loads of other places to go.enough gringo prices 😟 🤔
I agree 💯 percent! I’ve been traveling internationally since 2006 and I’ve noticed changes as well!
It’s a combination of inflation and the western mindset infecting those countries.
We’re similar in age and from New York. So let me break this down. Back in the day we had block parties and parties in peoples apartments. There were a couple of spots that had mad women in them and you had fun.
Me I don’t gossip. So I keep things on the low and have my fun. But mad dudes don’t move like that.
They tell EVERY dude within earshot about that party. So the next time we’re at the spot. It’s an overrun sausage fest with thousands of dudes lol.
That’s exactly what’s going on in Copacabana Beach, Sosua, and Cartagena.
black men ruin everything.
I believe this is just blatant disrespect for our dollar we need to push back
Everything your saying is so true. I’m just left Cartegena it was fun but it’s getting out of hand expensive. DR is really messed up and getting like America somewhat due to the close proximity of pookies chads and Rae Rae’s
Man, DR was destroyed by ATL and brothers became knowledgeable as to where to go. I am going West. Pookie, June bug, lil Ray Ray have killed the game in the DR. Sousa is now a joke. The government is going to shut it down. Check the news there.
Interesting how many are conflating small beach towns with an entire country. Most guys have never left these areas to know what's even in the nearby city. It's crazy to me. But personally I try to stay away from heavily touristy areas anyway. Never had a problem.
Speaking as an avid traveler of the these countries, I have seen the costs of most of these tourist destination cities go outrageously high. I have traveled to these 3 places since 2015 and it has gotten really expensive. More reasons for folks to travel around these countries. Why frequent the same cities when you can hit up different cities where the experiences are 100 times better. Oh well... Ninjas are stuck on stupid on a few city block locations so let them eat their slice of cake while I can have an assortment of cakes. Cheers to y'all... Heading to Thailand in a few weeks hitting Chaing Mai, Chaing Rai, Phuket, Bangkok, and Pattaya.
I don’t agree I’ve traveled to different cities every time I go back to a country and most of the unpopular cities I see no need to visit again the major cities are that because they have the most things to do and amenities.

The big three aren’t over. It comes down to the type of traveller you are. If you are the guy that wants lots of entertainment/activities to do, then stick with the major cities; however, yes, they are getting more expensive, unfortunately. If you are a guy that wants the ladies, then 2nd and 3rd-tier cities are the way to go. These are cheaper, but yes, there are fewer things to do in those places, and it can get boring very quickly.
Good point.
Exactly has nothing to do with an entire country but the small beach town or individual cities these guys like to frequent. You can easily roam off the beaten path and mingle with locals. In my opinion its more fun that way anyway.
Time to venture out brotha....I mentioned this to my older cousin recently since we both are veteran travelers
I go to all three frequently and your a 💯 percent right that’s why I rock with the smaller local towns and dip in and out of the hot spots
Zoe, what you have to understand is that no matter where you go, Inflation will follow. It takes a lot longer for inflation to catch up to other countries outside of the US but the term inflation isn't a US based term, Its a term used globally. How and Why would the cost of living stay low in those countries when price everywhere else is going up. They have to pay more for water, electricity, telecommunications, Pharma, and just about all cost of good, all while the population is continuing to grow. This has nothing to do with tourism, and everything to do with life, Commerce, Commercial Banking, GDP, Economic and Social growth. Native people of those countries you mentioned would agree that things were much cheaper in the years prior. It won't change, because if it does, it means a country is going backwards...not forward. Accept the change, and adapt to it. We still have today what others in those countries will never have so we're still blessed beyond our own understanding. This is a fact that no one can escape. Time has changed but this certainly normal. Bless up
@@poobado you're 💯 percent right! This is your typical supply and demand/economics 101 at play here. If a typical hotel is being fully booked on months that don't normally fully book out, jacking the price will be fairly easy.
The attention these poor countries are getting from youtube most definitely contributes to the influx of travelers!!!!!
We got a short life to live we’ll keep moving lol, it’s fine to enjoy a country for a few years and move on to another country.
True... But there is 100% two things in many of these countries, a Gringo tax, and ADDITIONALLY a BLACK tax!
Man the US prices are still astronomically higher than the big 3 I just spent 38.00 on lunch in Miami for simple meal crazy!
@@poobado but what you’re missing is inflation/deflation effects those travelers! There was a lot of money in the system allowing a lot more people to go on vacations with increased disposable income. Now we’re entering the deflationary period. Layoffs, tighter economy = less spending, traveling, vacations etc. These places will get killed next year once these rate hikes make their way all the way thru the system. Remember, It took a year after all the money printing for inflation to hit us like it has.
I’m late to the party! Only just got to Brazil 🇧🇷 and I feel like I’m barely scratching the surface. The other two I never been to yet. I gotta book Brazil in advance for Carnival and NYE. But you right prices are slowly increasing.
Yup my air b n b in cartagena was $60 a night it's now $140
Its a wrap for The Dominican Republic. That place jaded. Columbia and Brazil has many untapped areas. Cartagena is a major tourist boat destination. Its the most expensive spot in Columbia.
DR has huge tourism! Far from a wrap lol. The problem is everybody just wastes time in Sosua
@@visiow2691. I hate to be the barrier of bad news but I am starting to notice a huge uptick in European ex-pats in the Dominican republic buying land, properties, and setting up businesses, if black men don't come together and start doing the same thing the high prices will be the least of our worries. smh
BLACKMAN... WHY are All of the BIG 3 women on your vlog page ALL WHITE Hispanic women? OK, I get it. Your preference is white woman, but most of Dominican and Brazilian woman are of African Ancestry. I just wanted to bring that to you ATTENTION. Can WE ever get any BLACK LOVE? ☝🏿🖤❤🤦🏿
Zoe I agree 100% here. Being in Colombia for some months now. These girls outta control with prices and entitlement, it's changed.

I'm half Dominican born in DR myself and I've never considered in taking my ass back to DR. My mind is in Dubai. I'm half Chilean, trust me there's nothing for you there at least when it comes to women.
I heard DR women are now turning into the ratchet loud masculine black woman in the US. My brother in law told me this lol

It is time for a correction , we need to stop going for about two years . We also need a big 20 , instead of a big 3 . I think a lot of bros are starting to feel the same way , the correction is coming .
I feel actually where you coming from Zoe. I’ve been feeling that way since late 2021
I agree with this video.
I’m glad you put this out cause the big 3 definitely not the same. Reason being cause u have most guys who never been to these countries willing to pay whatever because they never had nothing like this in the States. I love all 3 but im definitely PUSHING P 😂(Back)..Thailand next weekend
Thanks ZOE for setting it straight. "The women are the same everywhere". They are all about that paper. Most find out sooner or later.
💯
your 💯 percent right I feel the same way.
Dope vid! I think overall the main thing would be to stay away from tourist areas. But these places will never be over
Bro, you just earned a NEW SUB !
Yes, as Passport Bros, we gotta make sure that we dont run a good thing into the Ground ! We dont wanna turn the DR🇩🇴, Colombia🇨🇴 & Brazil🇧🇷 into the new Spinning Rims ! Thailand🇹🇭 & the Philippines🇵🇭, are great spots for Black Men, too - and dont sleep on Canada🇨🇦 !

I agree totally.
Zoe i agree with everything you said except the RUclips part cause when you asked most of these dudes how they found out about it they either say RUclips or social media. However, there’s still ways around it as you mentioned & it’s by stay longer. Fred from Bahia seem to be having a blast for example cheap rent and dealing with the regular women you can’t beat that
I agree and I know him it’s just that he is t the average traveler he is the exception most guys are not going to stay in one location for months.
For brazil i reckon you guys should check out the city salvador for a few days, and then catch a boat to the island morro de sai paolo. Very safe, and has tourists from brazil, argentina, chile and israel. Very safe as well
I don't think it's "over" for any of these destinations. Why? Because all these locations will always be "new" to a different generation of travelers. As such, these destinations will always have those first times experiences for the newer generations.
I'm sure many regular travelers have very found memories and plenty of stories about the first few years of traveling to these destinations. How often have you heard "man, back in the day...." But after repeated travel to the same destinations, to the same spots, things become routine and eventually that "new car smell" is always lost. That's going to happen no matter where you travel or live in the world. So while these particular destinations may have lost their luster for some, that's just called life, and has very little to do with the destination itself.
How one chooses to break the routine is the key. I think becoming fluent in a foreign language is the most valuable tool a traveler can possess. I don't care if you've visited a foreign country 100 times, if you don't have at least conversational fluency, you're missing out on the vast majority of possible experiences you could have in that country. It's a guaranteed way to take your foreign experiences to a completely different level and to stave off any sense of routine for years to n come.
You summed everything up. I am now silent.
He isn't asking based on experiences or things maybe becoming stale. It's on the once was prices of things in those countries. The pandemic has caused business in many countries as well as the US to drive up their prices because of inflation. To try and make up what may have been lost. But yet most people's income isn't going up to be at least equal to the rise of inflation. Most that travel to those countries like the idea that their dollar could go a long way. A years in the past seasoned traveler like himself knowing what it once was will begin to look at other countries
True but the dollar will not go as far as it once did do to inflation international travels will have to content with this reality you will pay more regardless if you really like the country you will pay if not you may have to find other spots but boycotting sounds like a joke
@@adee0512 Perhaps my point may have missed. Which is, I believe a lot of what is being discussed, particularly the economic factors, boils down to pretext for plain old monotnoy and/or boredom.
If you actually consider relevant economic factors, including those you highlighted, they are inadequate to support the premise that these places are dead or dying due to the idea that they are more expensive.
In economic terms, the price of goods and services almost always rise over time. It's the nature of the beast. So I don't think anyone can realistically expect prices to remain stagnant over time. While the pandemic may have accelerated costs of goods and sercices, it also brought about a very sharp increase in the foreign buying/spending power of the USD. The USD is at at all time highs against the BRL and COP, i.e., rate levels and ranges have NEVER been higher. And at two year highs against the DOP.
For example, during the decade prior to 2020 the USD briefly reached 4:1 against the BRL, but for the majority of that decade it traded in the 3.x/1 and below range, and even traded at the 1.x/1 range for almost 3 years during that same decade. However, in 2020 the USD sharply accelerated against the BRL and has since consistently been in the 5.x/1 range, even hitting 5.99/1.
The situation is extremely similar with the USD/COP during the same period. Similarly, it also began to sharply increase in 2020 and has since been at historically high levels. Today enjoying a more than 53% increase since 2020.
Although the DOP/USD performed slightly different during the decade prior to 2020, since the pandemic the USD also began to increase against the COP, reaching two year high levels.
So true, costs of goods and services have increased in these three places and salary increases have not paced inflation for many Americans, but when you consider mitigating factors on the other side of the economic equation, the relative impact actually lands in the positive.
Put a different way, the relative increase in the exchange rate of the USD against the BRL and COP has significantly outpaced the rates of inflation in the US, Colombia and Brazil, by far. Since the pandemic, the USD/BRL has risen over 50% and the USD/COP over 53% (which is still climbing today)! To a lesser extent, but still a net positive, the USD has risen over 11% against the DOP.
So while you may pay more for that hotel or meal, the relative increase in the USD exchange rate more than makes up for that increase and then some.
In terms of economics, now is actually the time to travel to any of these places if you can swing it. High US inflation and a very high USD index are bad for domestic conditions, but a great opportunity for foreign travel.
@@lyntoncampbell1425 I think if folks looked at their total in foreign country dollar expenditure that was required for a trip taken pre pandemic and compare that to their total in foreign country dollar expenditure required for a trip taken today, they would surprised to realize that the in foreign country dollar expenditure is less today than pre pandemic, at least for the countries mentioned. The dollar goes a lot further today in these countries than it did two years, even with the increase in prices. And for Colombia and Brazil, the dollar goes much further than it ever has in history - with a 50%+ increase just since 2020.
Thus, for anyone who may claim or experience otherwise, it's NOT because these countries are more expensive. It's due to other factors, economic or otherwise, that are independent of costs within these countries.
Wow, say it ain't so Zoe! Hearing this just ruined my night, I haven't made it to Brazil yet. Lol
Even here in Portugal I'm seeing the influence of American culture...notably among the under 25 crowd in the major areas (Lisboa in general and Porto), and particularly among those from Angola, Mozambique and Brasil/Brazil. My D7 Visa was just approved several days ago!
How is the afro festival in Portugal? Is it worth a trip to experience it?
@@Jetlife904 I was not here in Portugal during the Afro Beats Festival this year...but heard so many great things about it from those who attend! Next one is in June 2023. I would say a trip to Portugal in general that includes the Festival would be worth it!
I was thinking the same thing about the boycotting Zoe. If you can get, just your followers, to adhere to a standard in spending on certain goods and services, we can encourage a price drop on everything. So keep on pushing it brother, because you are one of the many influencers that can make it happen
Never will happen.
The confusing thing about this statement though is if we believe a RUclipsr can convince people not to go then doesn't that mean RUclipsrs can convince people to go? My point in saying this is that the argument was that RUclipsrs aren't involved in increasing tourism in large amounts therefore affecting the local economy.
Great video, my brother, thank you we needed this insight keep the videos coming💪🏾👏🏾
I have been saying this forever but it's been falling on "deaf ears!"...
I definitely see what you are talking about. I don’t hit up Dominican Republic but Rio and Medellin are two cities I love and visit often, but their prices for airbnb is getting out of hand. But I’m an explorer at heart and the comforts of these places took me out my purpose a bit, so I’m exploring El Salvador and Panama in November & December. In the spring, I’m going back to Eastern Europe to explore. Maybe leave the big 3 for the new travelers to get their feet wet. They still serve the purpose of helping expand the mind of fellow African American men who are new to traveling. PS. My wife was dying laughing at the video of the 2 twins on the beach 😅. You looked so happy ..
You definitely need to try Sosua. The true brother's paradise where anything is possible.

Colombia is good for new travelers only if they take certain precautions and travel in groups. Otherwise, I wouldn't say it's beginner friendly. I would say the plane ticket cost is the most beginner friendly aspect.
Japan and The Philippines are 2 of the most beginner countries, Japan for safety and The Philippines for cheap prices and most people speak English there. They're not cheap to fly to though.
I’m going to where my money 💴 stretches the most . Time to explore different countries
Eastern Europe is my bet

i 100 % agree with you
I'm going to keep this short and sweet Zoe. I too have been feeling like boycotting. For the reasons you said plus others but I will say this. And it's my opinion but as far as DR Is concerned the Dominican woman is starting to act more and more like the black woman in the U.S. The way the talk now, act. Back when I first went a local Dominican chick didn't even know who Beyonce was. Many of us leave the U.S. to get a break from that. I recently just left the DR it felt like i was at w Washington Heights just with a beach. I can tell you personally I won't be back in the DR for years. It's kind of wack now.
I think we all seen this coming. I told myself that this will be my last go round with Medellin for awhile. Yea I think it’s time for us to step off the gas with the big 3 for a year or so.
