    WOAH! I'm actually kinda blown away by that! Back when I was streaming I bought an Elgato Wave 3 USB mic and while I wish I had known more about XLR and the things I do now as a Live Sound Tech, it's been... Serviceable, not the best by any means, but also not the worst. This mic damn near sounds like an XLR mic, blows mine away for sure! It's definitely got some of the standard issues of USBs, but wow is this a step in the right direction. While XLRs are still the end-all-be-all, this might help some newbies just joining the vo/stream/even musicians scenes! Good on Audio Technica, hopefully this trend continues and ends up helping XLRs too in some form or fashion

    Just picked up the ATR2500x-USB because it's on such a good sale currently, but wow this new AT2020 USB-XP sounds amazing! The new features on this makes it sound like the perfect streaming microphone which is why I picked up the 2500x-USB, for the live monitoring. This new mic sounds sweet. Thanks for the video dude.

    6:44 You meant to say _"clip",_ *not* _"peak"._ These are *two different things.* A signal is *always peaking somewhere.* If peaks occur within the dynamic range of the mic's circuitry then the output is clean. If peaks exceed the circuit's dynamic range then they clip (i.e. they get cut off), causing distortion.

    I've been using the ATH-50MxSTS headset just for Zoom meetings and obviously it's great compared to, say, Bluetooth headset mics.
    In combination with my iPhone as Continuity Camera, the A/V experience for the other person is really a step up.
    So the AT2020-XP is likely on my shortlist as a "desktop" version that doesn't require me to look like a broadcaster, thanks to your review!

    I was looking for some good options, watched your FDuce review after hearing some good reviews and also audio tecnica. Thanks to your video I learned that the FDuce might not be the best option but I am wondering if I am going to miss much if I buy the AT2020USB-XP if I only need it for discord/gaming/recording some videos and maybe also recording some sounds for game development? I hear a lot better to go for a XLR but maybe this is a good option for me

      I honestly think you will be good to go with the AT2020USB-XP or FDUCE,, it will check all the boxes for your use case! Room to grow as well. tons of mic these days give good enough if not great quality for value. and if you are recording sounds for game development... sound treating your environment would help better than the mic.

    To be quite honest, I was not impressed with the noise reduction. I would much rather keep it clean and do my own noise reduction, even realtime, but I am also an audio engineer, not a gamer who doesn't care too much about a complex noise removal process. So, this may be helpful for gamers who just don't want to deal with noise. However, I feel like discord's krisp and OBS's RNNoise would do better for noise reduction when it comes to gamers

    • @eligio5790
      @eligio5790 Год назад

      Sorry, total noob here that doesn't know anything related to audio engineering. I don't know if I should get the AT2020 USB-XP or just the XLR version + M-Audio M-Track SOLO/DUO. Plan to use it for chatting, gaming and recording voice for videos. Dont know if you can actually also use this mics to record sounds for game development but I am willing to try, anyway this is secondary thing I am curious about. I am willing to learn about how audio works but I don't know how complex it could get, thanks in advance.

      @BlueberryWolf Год назад +1

      @@eligio5790 get the XLR AT2020 with an interface. It will have better noise performance (lower self noise), and also end up saving you some cash. I own an AT2020USB and an XLR AT2020, and the XLR version sounds a lot better and has less noise. If you need help processing it after you purchase it, I would be more than willing to help out, as I am quite familiar with processing the AT2020

    • @BlueberryWolf

      @@eligio5790 The M-Track solo is a great choice. I'm currently driving an SM7B with only an M-Audio AIR 192|4 and no external pre-amp. Different interface, but it shows that even M-Audio's budget interfaces can drive the most expensive microphones just fine.
