I think one of the biggest failings of D&D podcasts and shows are the audio quality, it's torturous to try and follow along when you can't hear half the players. So glad the audio balancing is on point, and everyone is clear and easily understandable

I just started watching and honestly... How do you guys not have more recognition?? This show is just so professional in every way! The players are absolutely fantastic, especially Shane! As someone who's played DnD for a while now, I always envy people who are able to stay in character the entire time! Ya'lls DM is also so underrated! I'm looking forward to catching up on this. Its coming along , also yah its basally a TLDR simplified version of the Kibbles Compendium mixed with sum homebrew, Its to make it easy for my players to use it . There newish to homebew so i want to incentivize them to use it without spending a hour reading a book .

Listening to my first dnd podcast before my first time playing it. It all seemed so overwhelming to get into but now i realise it's not that hard. Pretty much just going with the flow
Just tell the DM what you want to do and they'll tell you what to roll. Easy as that!

I hope you've been enjoying the game so far! It's an amazing hobby for sure! It's genuinely helped me break out of my shell a lot and be more expressive towards people I'm not as comfortable with. I was lucky enough to run into a group that turned me from a very back seat observer, only here for the combat type player to being completely content with RP dominating sessions. RP can be oh so juicy drama wise

Yo that's the same way I do my critical hits! It feels so good when the players get a critical hit. It also hurts a lot when the enemies get a critical hit.
It's always so sad when you roll a nat 20 and then roll a pair of 1s for your damage...

Are there any DnD campaigns on RUclips that don’t start Episode One with “A group of ultra high status, everyone is the son of daughter of royalty, and well established warriors”? Literally the most boring fantasy.
I started listening to one earlier that was explaining how they just saved the world and everyone loved them. Left lots of room to grow I’m sure.
I'm not sure if you're being satirical or I'm missing something, but most of the DnD campaigns I've interacted with have been about ragtag groups of weirdos, and ours is certainly no exception on that front! Our campaign starts with a character getting fired because he lost his powers. XD
Either way, I feel that the fun is in the telling. I bet there's lots of hidden quirks and insecurities that the most famous and well regarded heroes possess! Plenty to explore there.

Yea it's really hard to tolerate tables that start out with major accomplishments akin to what you'd expect a 7th lvl or so, yet they are lvl 1 or 3...
I totally get having accomplished stuff in your life since people have a life before adventuring, but it should be within reason of the lvl you are starting at. If it's done well then yea it may not be too much though.
I'm in a game where one pc is an exiled prince on the run from a coup and my pc is his bast*rd half sister (unbeknownst to absolutely every pc and above board only the dm, and the two of us know). My pc has zero interest in the crown but an almost obsessive determination to protect him, which is a nod at her past in the King's Guard (not captain or anything, just in it).
Yes, two of the pcs are of royal line, but it's being played so freaking well because no one even knew HE was royal until 2 yrs in. And the reveal for my connection is likely to be in the final arc of the game. But it's more about family ties than the actual royal blood imo, and she has treated him as a lil brother needing protection since it was a very early game.
