This is why many NHS staff move to America or Australia as their private healthcare systems offer market salary rates for doctors and nurses. You just can't do that in a publicly owned healthcare system if you exclusively rely on general taxation that is struggling with an aging population.
-When the NHS was introduced, it was limited to treating infections and injuries. Nowadays, the technology and the type of operations used in the NHS are much more complex which means that maintenance costs are a lot more as a proportion of GDP than it was in 1948.
-In 1948, mental health was not seen as a problem compared to today's standards. This means that further NHS resources are spread out and requires more funding in a way that wasn't required in 1948. Nowadays, people are also diagnosed with multiple comorbidities which further strains NHS resources and this is especially true in an aging population where it is elderly people who consume healthcare services the most.
Is that a relatable minister?
He reminds me of that person who goes around telling people they are going to help someone just to look good, when push comes to shove no help was given and it is status quo, then they will gaslight and blame others when they get called out. It is a form of narcissism in my eyes. People who are going to do something just get on and do it, not promote what they are going to do for praise, adulations and applause. I have a narcissistic mother (aggressive), sibling (cunning) and dated (demented) one too, I see all the hallmarks of the gift of the gab.
Im a diabetic and cant get the drug that is a game changer. " liraglutide " it was meant for treatment for diabetics but used by private health for slimming which has caused the shortage.
@elainesmith2334 the weekly injection. I know what it is because I'm diabetic as well
Nhs will have lot more pressure with amount of people coming into country
What an easy ride no questions on
how it will be funded.
Their funding model is published, you can look it up. He did touch on it, anyway. He explained how getting patients in early and administering cheaper preventative care reduces additional costs to the NHS later down the line.
Sad to say this, I was on psyche wards in Bedfordshire, my phone chargers were stolen from the staff room, the staff were/are thieves? 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
He is still going to privatise the NHS
Well let the rich pay and find a way to protect the poor so they still get free NHS care. Hybrid approach could work. State only approach alone not going to scale as the population grows?
@@PoliticalViews-d8f Labour (Sorry New Tory’s or Tory lite party) will not tax the rich or business

@@colingarner6175 They’re all the same. Where will they get the money from? Like tories more tax.
@@andrewcollins8774 they already have plans, one of their ways of income is a national energy company, re nationalise the trains etc, which is income we lost under thatcher, inheritance tax on those which have had a property increase 5 fold etc, they are finding ways to get more income without taxing people anymore. They are also funding things on cracking down on tax avoidance etc.
Home office is the poisoned chalice. That’s the 1 job you don’t want. Nhs probably No 2 job to avoid. Housing maybe 3rd.
Stop treating foreigners for free.
Non Uk citizens can’t use the NHS freely anyway? Educate yourself.
@@aman8086 That’s odd. My Brother is a GP and says he is obliged to see asylum seekers and obviously refers them on should they need it. Does the ER turn them away either? Of course not so they will head there. Plus, if you’ve you’ve just been granted citizenship why should you have the same access as someone that has contributed for years/decades. New arrivals should pay for an insurance policy until they’ve paid tax for a given term. And before you say they have nothing then I suppose you’ve closed your ears to the fact they pay thousands to traffickers. You seem a bit naive. That are jumping the queue in both welfare, housing and healthcare.
Look at all the bitter comments 😅
Some realism is needed. How will the waiting list be eradicated? Only by hundreds more hospitals and thousands more staff - infinite resources if you like. That can’t and won’t happen though
The electorate didn't elect the Labour Party.
In fact, 2/3rds of the electorate REJECTED the Labour party.
They got fewer votes than their "disastrous" 2019 result.
He wants to turn it into a business and sell off the profitable parts. Look at his donors and their connections to the private health care sector.
He talks about a mandate and whilst it is a landslide in terms of seats, only 20 in every 100 people voted Labour, 40 in every 100 people did not vote for Labour (including 14 in every 100 people who voted Conservative) and 40 in every 100 people did not vote at all. That's not really a mandate is it?
Yes it is a mandate, it's a large mandate within our electoral system. That's just counting.
Still the largest vote share out of all the parties.
People voted tactically.
Ah I see you just parroting "the line". Not even your own thought.
Well I would say the papers for 5 solid weeks said "this is a Labour government at this rate" and a lot of people decided this was absolutely fine by them and as such stayed home as they felt it was a done deal. We would have seen higher voter turnout of the media narrative was "it's going to be a really close race, it could be anyone's game"
It is what it is. Watch them, monitor the statistics of the issues you care about, and see if you are happy with the result come the next election. If you like what you see you know who you should vote for.
Unfortunately, he surrendered to the anti-Trans hysteria in Terf island :/

they literally are improving our border security to prevent people coming in.
You cant save it, it's too corrupt. Owes me in itself £63 million
My god deeley hasn't aged well...too many drugs
How many people actually pay taxes to fund the NHS vs how many unemployed, illegal immigrants it’s supporting…
Very good question. I wouldn’t be surprised if fewer than half the adult population living in the UK pay any or enough tax to pay their share of the total NHS bill.
