I played this deck this weekend and offspring'd Boss's Chauffeur. Both wound up 15 +1 counters that turn to 1/1 WG Citizens when they die. Board wiped and got 30 1/1 tokens turning Zinnia into a flying 1 hit death machine. It's a super fun deck to play so far even before upgrades. I think Pollywog Prodigy has potential to do pretty well. Enough that I wish it had "may" in the description.
I want a copy of polywog prodigy for so many of my decks. Mothman would LOVE him. I can stack so many 1/1 counters on him. Also anthems are great for his evolve because they apply on enter, so buffing your tokens should help get more evolve triggers
The Palinchron infinate mana strategy is not only infinate mana, but will boost Zinnia infinate as well, because you can make infinate 1/1 copies that boost Zinnia :O
I have seen all four precons in action. It is my belief that peace offering and family matters requires little to no upgrades whatsoever. In fact, my only real suggestion for family matters is remove the blue removal. Replace aeth we rize for example with something like austere command and replace path to exile with generous gift. Already, I can hear people complaining about that. And sword supply shares and path exile are very popular. But what I like about generous gift and beast within so much is that they are permanent removal. I have been in positions where I really needed permanent removal very badly. So I say screw creature removal and go with permanent removal. Maybe find a place for song of the world soul and wand of the world soul? The most important thing here is adding some counter spells. I would suggest last word and overwhelming denial. The last thing you want is to get in a counter spell war and waste all your precious resources. So, you want something that'll stick. Maybe throw in a few other good counter spells that aren't so absolute? Maybe flare of denial a gift you can refuse. But as I said, you could run those two decks as they are0 and be happy with them.
I love frogs so giving us frog lovers pollywog prodigy is awesome as it's a really nice card draw engine we can slot into some other decks, especially with the frog tribes whole thing being enter and exit the battlefield bounce effects.
this deck is already considered powerful out of the box. many videos around RUclips even convey this. but I think it has the potential to be the most powerful jeskai precon,.. exponentially increase its threat by adding a few creatures with annihilator. give each one offspring, but I'm pretty sure so many people out there have figured out how to make it even more threat inducing than that.
How does the Zinnia with other Offspring? Seems like it assigns the ability to creatures that don’t have it, but those that already do instead get the 2 cost.
@@zarfling I think we talked about it here, but offspring stacks!! You would be able to pay 4 to offspring twice on creatures with the printed ability. -Joseph
Yeah you did, I just don’t understand how it stacks. Ha! Thanks for bringing it up though, because looking into this helps me understand how I’ll build the deck.
@@zarfling zinnia just adds an extra copy of the offspring text onto a creature that already has it, so your options would be this: Pay the mana cost for the creature only, get the creature. Pay the mana cost + 2, get the creature and one offspring token. Pay the mana cost + 4, get the creature and two offspring tokens.
@@MTGThoughtcast that is better, thanks! I was weighing the various offspring costs with some being 1W for example and considering the higher costed abilities for the benefit. It seemed clunky whereas this is smoother.
There's a lred lizard that has its own offspring ability. You pay the commander offspirng, and the lizard's offspirng to get 3 lizards. They each have when lizard creature etbs deal 1 damage to each opponent. Dealt 6 damage. Then I offspringed a goblen when he etbs create 3 goblin tokens. So the 2 goblins will trigger the lizards dealing 6 damage, then those goblins create 6 tokens. The lizards trigger dealing another 18 damage to each opponent. A total of 30 burn damage
Pollywog would be great in synergies with counters. Put that in a mothman deck paired with Danny pink and Nadu and your whole deck is gone in 5 seconds
For Pollywog Prodigy, if something gives a creature +1/+1, does it get those before it enters, or does it enter and then get them? As if you have something that gives the +1/+1 to things, then polywog is gunna ramp up pretty crazily.
@@paolomoonman it's way more fragile, relying on flamerush rider and the celebrant to not die in combat, but you are right! The combo here with helm of the host only requires you to equip to the celebrant, and exert each copy on each combat!
