Universes Beyond Assassin's Creed Collector Booster | Pack It In
Star is really straight forward. And probably the easiest way to play with 5 people. Sit in a circle. If you hold hands in that circle, the people you're holding hands with are your allies. The other 2 are your enemies. First person to kill their 2 enemies is the winner. The trick is that each enemy is an ally of an ally. It is possible to have a tie. Much faster than a 5 player ffa and doesn't lose the politics of EDH.
Seems simple enough, though a seldom find myself playing 5+ players. Thanks for the suggestion! -Jon
@@MTGThoughtcast oh I haven't done it very often either. But there's been a few times an extra person makes it to a game night. It feels like every person you add to an edh game adds a disproportionate amount of time and complexity. Star fixes that by narrowing your focus to 2 people and only caring about the other 2 if you need something from one another. Not my favorite way to play but always nice to have so no one is left out.
My playgroup sometimes introduce the Monarch with the following house rule: "the first person dealing combat damage becomes the Monarch". Believe me, it really encourages combat and speeds things up!
Oh interesting, so Monarch goes into play on the first time combat damage happens? Thats very cool! Thanks for sharing. -Jon
Oathbreaker
I had a deck for this a long while ago when it was still fresh. Nobody around my area made one so it got retired. Maybe a nostalgia resurgence someday? -Jon

I'm just upset they didn't make Arabella and Balloon man a deck together. They already share colors and can work together really well by making 1/1s and tokens. Boros tokens hasn't felt good to me till grabbing these two.

@@dogemanplays7664 yes, this is correct and we got it wrong on the episode, thanks for the correction! Very confusing and niche interractions. -Joseph
I think a corner case for Fear of Imposters countering your own spell could be either creating two blockers at instant speed or countering a spell that is going to fizzle due to an uncounterable effect. Definitely not what you want to be doing with it, but definitely something that is playable when in dire straights haha
@@shrimpboatgames8002 yes!! Always looking for more corner cases to create branching strategies in a pinch! -Joseph
Great call on "Sheltered by Ghosts". I think we're trained to just ignore auras because of the 2 for 1 potential. But an oblivion ring that also gives a creature ward 2, lifelink, and an extra power for 2 mana is a legitimately strong card. This has got to go into a lot of voltron and enchantress commander decks.
I was working on a Preston Garvey deck for a while that would have LOVED this! -Joseph
Thank u a lot!!!!
Nowhere to run is very good! Gonna have to pick a couple up.

What a cool box to open!
I'm pretty excited about this precon. I'm newish and dig precons for exploring the different deck mechanics and strategies. I got all 4 precons and I'm excited to give this one and Miracle Worker a go. I'm a huge horror fan so this set has my attention for sure. Got a booster box and am hoping for a Jolly Balloon man to build a deck around.
It seems like the miracles deck is the weakest of the bunch, but hopefully our upgrade guide helps out! -Joseph
@@MTGThoughtcast Been playing the miracle one (lightly upgraded) on a pod with some high powered decks and it feels pretty powerful. Also benefits from not having a straigh up lighning rod commander (unlike this precon), that way you can slowly accumulate value until it's too late for opponents to do anything about it.
@@Orinap love to hear this!! It does some very cool things, glad to hear its performing well for you! -Joseph
I'd love to add the Pegasus that makes more via constellation.
@501Hasie Archon of Sun's Grace is a great choice! Flying bodies help stability for both offence and defense.-Jon
You guys understimate barbflare gremlin in rakdos is easy to sacrifice so as long you have sac outlets like phyrexian tower or warren soultrader as well stuff like burnt offering and sacrifice . Just play it T3-T4 swing, second main phase you can cast something like the meathook massacre II . Use all the mana probably about 8-11 mana on T4
@@trenchaus there are certainly ways to use it, but our prompt is to upgrade this Precon, where there aren't sac outlets really! All the better to pull it out of this deck, and put it into a deck it works well in!! -Joseph

Nice vídeo, This is the first time I'm going to play a strategy like this, personally I like to play decks that are a bit salty for my opponents, and even if I don't win we always have fun, me make them angry And they attack me 3 against 1 😅😅👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
@Maauro02ko Hope you have lots of fun! If 1 v 3 sounds like a good time, these decks include Archenemy cards inside for the true one vs many feel! -Jon
This is the first one I'm gonna play too. It sounds too fun in a hurt the one's you love kinda way lol
Can I suggest "Street Urchin" as the background? Gives you a back up of saccing your tokens for damage as a worse Goblin Bombardment
Very useful video, nice and to the point. Thanks.
So stoked to have been a part of this game, one of many very good games that I've gotten to be a part of recently!
Just what I was looking for… I was actually doing this right now but was going around in circles trying to decide what cards to cut and keep. As someone who only buys & plays precons with slight upgrades this series really helps!

If you tap thran dynamo for the mana ability while it’s an elemental, that means you can’t attack with it that turn?
Yep, you got it! I guess the goal could be give it vigilance so you can swing, then tap for mana on your second main phase! :) -Joseph
I don't it's Arthur that goes back in your hand I I think the creature that attacked with it does

@@AVIDFISH5 a blessing as always 🙏
This deck actually has two big problems which can be addressed with few upgrades well, fewer upgrades and squirrel away. It needs to upgrade to the Mana Base and something to protect the commander and keep it on the field. I would suggest better hexproofing or shroud. Something like that which can't be removed so easily. Since this deck ramps really hard really fast, I am going to suggest archetype of endurance. Once you have that in place, removing the face commander isn't going to be so simple. Especially if you can make archetype of endurance and destructible. Unlike squirrel the way, animated army is a deck that you will have to deal with as soon as possible. Paying attention to those many hate posts about this deck and underestimating it is a very bad idea. This deck specializes in cheap casting creatures in by various means. That is something which people need to keep in mind. That is why the creature base is the way it is. I might also replace that creature draw spell with more efficient card draw. West squirrel away, you have a bit of time. You can leave it alone and deal with this deck first, then address squirrel away later on.
I have seen all four precons in action. It is my belief that peace offering and family matters requires little to no upgrades whatsoever. In fact, my only real suggestion for family matters is remove the blue removal. Replace aeth we rize for example with something like austere command and replace path to exile with generous gift. Already, I can hear people complaining about that. And sword supply shares and path exile are very popular. But what I like about generous gift and beast within so much is that they are permanent removal. I have been in positions where I really needed permanent removal very badly. So I say screw creature removal and go with permanent removal. Maybe find a place for song of the world soul and wand of the world soul? The most important thing here is adding some counter spells. I would suggest last word and overwhelming denial. The last thing you want is to get in a counter spell war and waste all your precious resources. So, you want something that'll stick. Maybe throw in a few other good counter spells that aren't so absolute? Maybe flare of denial a gift you can refuse. But as I said, you could run those two decks as they are0 and be happy with them.
Any ship crewed by a pirate is by default, a pirate ship!
he gets it.
The Palinchron infinate mana strategy is not only infinate mana, but will boost Zinnia infinate as well, because you can make infinate 1/1 copies that boost Zinnia :O
@@lairdflitzy8187 In. Obsessed. No notes.
Temple of the false god is a trash card
I can’t really chime in on budget mana based, y’all covered that pretty well. But, when I’m building and tagging my deck I have a tag that is ‘mana-producing objects.’ This covers lands, rocks, ramps, and dorks. And I’m trying to hit about 45 MPO’s in my average deck
That's a clever way to do it! Approved! -Joseph
Everytime I have used this deck I got insidious roots (which is an upgrade) in my opening hand or shortly after. I don't think I have ever tapped hazel! Sure that is lucky for me and the card itself isn't entirely cheap. But i think insidious roots is well worth it. Especially because hazel gets targeted so much. if someone removes hazel with an instant and you expect to tap hazel to tap other creatures for mana then that is quite unfortunate. I don't think my games would have panned out like I intended without this card
Wasn’t curiosity crafter the card that started the Command Zone Spikes?
Woof…. That was brutal 😂
Put 20 towed toes in the new tamiyo flip walker that draws half her deck
Ohh seems like an easy win! -Joseph
I played this deck this weekend and offspring'd Boss's Chauffeur. Both wound up 15 +1 counters that turn to 1/1 WG Citizens when they die. Board wiped and got 30 1/1 tokens turning Zinnia into a flying 1 hit death machine. It's a super fun deck to play so far even before upgrades. I think Pollywog Prodigy has potential to do pretty well. Enough that I wish it had "may" in the description.
@@crocholiday these are the kind of stories I love reading about!! Thanks for sharing! Ohh never thought about the frog forcing you to draw!! -Joseph
Are we sure on the Tron land it only takes 1?
@LeftyRC That is correct! Each of the Tron Lands look for you to control lands typed Urza's Mine, Tower, and/or Power-Plant (depends which you already have). If One of these has gained all types from Omo, that single land checks itself as all 3. -Jon
Great video I’m loving this deck
I don't know if a "twenty-toed" toad, is "10 toes per feet", it's just 5 toes per appendage. It already has 5 visible on each "fore" appendage (from the picture), and I think they hid the bottom appendages just so we could have this discussion.
@@JustinNovack I like this approach, thank you for the thought provoking exposé on toes
