Lily gets a phone call about her proposal. Isabel has a heart-to-heart with Miss Symonds. Eddy makes a pass at Carol.

Alan Cumming fairly unique amongst actors who appeared in soaps back then in the 80s - his career blossomed afterwards. There was an awful lot of snobbery in the acting world back then and as Anne Reid said after her time in Coronation Street, if you did soaps "people thought you were a bit down market".
