  • We trekked up the Dart Valley for 3 days to the top of Cascade Saddle to catch the stunning views of the Dart Glacier, Mt. Aspiring and the Matukituki Valley. The Dart Valley is one half of the Rees-Dart Track that we attempted last Winter up the Rees Valley, but had to turn back due to lack of crampons. The views of the mountains, rivers, waterfalls and glaciers make this an unforgettable experience in the backcountry of Mt. Aspiring National Park., New Zealand.

Another one added to the 'to do' list. Enjoyed your cinematography - those cuts to nature you do, like the close-ups of water coming down the walls really set the scene and tone.

Thanks for noticing. I really try my best to paint a full picture of the experience as well as I can.

That brought back some memories! I did the Rees-Dart from the other side when I visited in the summer of 04 and took that day trek from the Dart hut to the Cascade Saddle, beautiful scenery. Very boggy on the Rees side, went in waist deep once. I will have to dig out my photos

Thank you soooo much for this video. I don't have the energy to do these walks despite living not too far away. Felt I was exploring it with you. Stunning scenery!

That walk can get really wild in bad weather. I mean really serious. I have seen: The Dart River full of large trees crashing like a grinder; waterfalls of water cascading off the top bluffs, washing 50mm of of moving water down over the track and off into the river; tributary stream streams running across the track turned into dangerous deep torrents of water that require serious skill and effort to cross; thunder and lightening that is smashing the forrests . In those conditions it is not for the faint hearted.

I like your content Jesse, you're taking us with you on your travels. I'm wondering did you see any deer 🦌 signs in any of those meadows?

It is in it's own category for beauty. Nepal is close but also has a LOT of pollution
