Why is this movie unironically so good? Vintage yet still a classic.
I absolutely loved The Rocketeer. I thought Joe Johnson did a fabulous job on it. These sequences gave me goosebumps and that always means the director is hitting it.

Every kids reaction in the theater in 1991 seeing the Rocketeer fly for the first time.
“I’m gettin’ it! I’m gettin’ it! I don’t know what it is, but I’m gettin’ it!”
So glad I got to see this in the theater when I was a kid.
One of the most underrated directors out there!
This film is amazing, great story, great music and just plan awesome!
This scene gives me chills every time I watch it!
Tears of joy rewatching this classic.
Who ever hated this movie I wanna “talk to you”
RIP Alan Arkin....
Most of the airplanes are modern replicas, including the 1918 Standard J-1 "Miss Mabel" that Malcolm is flying and the red 1934 Brown B-2 Racer that Cliff passes. The Ford Trimotor passenger aircraft is the real deal, though...199 were originally produced and 18 of them are still airworthy.
Thanks 😊
My favorite superhero, no super muscle or laser eyes. True hero.
The perfect MCU movie before the MCU.
Joe Johnston would go on to direct "Captain America: The First Avenger."
@@DaftSwank Exactly.
You can get this theme stuck in your head all day
One of Joe Johnston's finest
“How do I look?”
“Like a hood ornament.”
This is how you poke fun at a classic hero while still respecting their legacy! What a great line.

"It's all part of the show!!"
Favorite Superhero as well. All the elements of a great story, glad there is no sequel..
I watched this when I was 9 back in 1991 and even back then to this very day I still wonder how the rocket pack didn't burn his butt.
0:35 Nice entrance hero, you scared the poor old man nearly into a heart attack....
I was 9 when this movie came out and ever since then I always wondered how the rocket pack never burned his butt.
Love this film.
I love the rocketeer 😊
My favorite movie. After some research, I have to complain about what I see. First off, that airliner lacks NACA cowls over its radial engines. Airliners care deeply about minimizing cost and NACA cowls had been around since the 1920s. The tension cables on that biplane look kind of loose but I don't know if that's how they are in real life. Anyway, about that Farmall tractor. Its either an M, H, or MD and its missing a transmission lever but I can't figure out what its for. Anyway, any of those 3 tractors were made no later than 1939 which is 1 year before the movie takes place yet somehow that tractor's paint job has faded, failed, and allowed rust to accumulate far more than should be possible within a 1 year period of time. Maybe those farmers were using salt water to wash their tractor.
That is some next level nitpicking when it comes to a movie about a guy strapping rocket engines to his backside.
I loved Rocketmani it's a Great Movie
I was ten when this movie came out
This movie was so far ahead of it's time we barely caught up to it
Based on the graphic novel by Dave Stevens.
"Biiiggg gopher."
the Curtis JN Jenny was sapataz by the Bond Henchman overnight.
Another movie being remade. Cliff Secord is being race and gender swapped.
Yeah okay dude
Disney probably doesn’t own all of the rights to the Rocketeer, the original comic book creator does. That’s probably why they would race swap and gender swap the hero.
Or if you are referring to the Disney+ cartoon spinoff...that’s not Cliff Secord in that cartoon. It’s his biological descendant...a girl called Kit Secord. She’s his seven year old great granddaughter. So, Disney already race and gender swapped the Rocketeer superhero in the form of a legacy character who’s the descendant of the original.
