Well for starters this genre didn’t start out as pop rock! That was a different channel on the radio. If you’re old enough to have listen to them in the 80s early’90s you should know that!

Dave did a lot of cocaine in his 20s and 30s to the point where he had to have the inside of his nose repaired. On the flipside, he still does his martial arts so externally doesn’t look that great but probably is in pretty decent physical shape for someone his age.

I remember watching a show about the kids of rockers from the 70s and 80s. They were all sad and hopeless, depressed and neglected except for Alice Cooper's kids who were happy, optimistic, and down to earth because he and his wife spent time with them and taught them well.
Yeah, Dee Snyder's kids are pretty well grounded too. He's been with his wife for 30+ yrs i think, says a lot about them really.

Didn't even recognize David Lee Roth! Ozzy Osbourne has aged well; looks like himself. And Alice Cooper never seems to change. In the 1980's my brother waited along with other fans in the parking lot at a local San Diego radio station to meet Alice Cooper who was doing an interview on air there. Alice was very nice, autographed one of his promo photos and gave my brother a tour of his bus. A very grounded and decent man.
I did a travel nurse assignment in Phoenix, where Alice Cooper lives. I heard so many good things about him from the locals. It was nothing to see Alice drive up to Walmart in his Mercedes, hop out in sandals and blue jean cut offs, then stop to chat with people as he went in to grab something. People told me if you ate at his restaurant, he would often visit with diners when he was there.
J & L Yes, as well as Ronnie Dio, I wouldve loved to meet both of them.
My sister won a backstage meet and greet with Alice Cooper. She said he was the nicest guy she ever met, but hoped he'd get a handle on his drinking. She couldn't understand how on earth he could perform that way. I believe it was around 1976-77

She was so lucky to have Steve in her life when she needed someone the most at that time. It speaks volumes of the kind of person he is. If every man had a bit of SP in them we would surely be living in a better world! I will always love, admire and respect Steve.

Both decades had great music. Even the 60s and some of the 90s.
But maybe I see it because I like almost all music. And if I don't like it, I've learned to find something to appreciate in it. Musicians are a very rare breed. They pour their heart and soul into what they love, then share it with the world, knowing they no longer own it. You don't become a successful musician without sacrificing a lot of who you are. Yes, it's their choice. But not one of them really knew what to expect. They are some of the most selfless people on earth.

David Coverdale was already old in the 80's when the second version of Whitesnake got popular as a carryover from the 70's arena rock scene.He was already pushing 40 in the Still of the night video.

Gene Simmons isn’t the lead singer for Kiss. That’s Paul Stanley, Gene is the bassist and back up vocalist who sometimes takes the lead singer position for like 2-3 songs.
He has got more than 2-3 songs ! But I do agree with you that Paul is the lead singer of KISS.

Gene Simmons isn't the lead singer, but in my opinion, he was the better singer. Paul Stanley's voice was always too high for my liking. And too many oohs and ahhs instead of just writing a few more lyrics. Don't know if it was lazy, structured that way, or if he just liked hearing himself scream.(probably the last one)
Well said, as much as I luv Gene, Paul always was and will be Kiss's front man. I have lost count how many so called journalists can't get this simple fact right.
I'm a 60's born lass and feel so blessed. To have experienced the best music of the 70's and 80's. I miss those days so much! And now OMG! I was not prepared to see that picture of David Lee Roth. That should come with a warning label. He doesn't look well. I sure hope he's okay.

Make up does not make YOU look younger that is a myth men have come up with it can actually make women look older less is MORE a very good moisturizer and lot's of water 64 oz. A day organic foods a lot of sleep at least 8 hrs a day! I know everyone can't live that way but I try to. It is definitely worth it...

Michael, Monroe of Hanoi Rocks has aged so gracefully his voice is legendary and I enjoyed watching this. Thank you.
Michael Monroe has got a very healthy active lifestyle. Back when I was living in Turku Finland it was a very common thing to see Michael bicycling in downtown. He also encouraged young rock bands joining them for jams in their rehearsal places. I never spoke with him since I was super shy meeting a rock legend like him. But he was always smiling and giving thumbs up for a leather jacket rock'n'roll girl like I was. He is a very down to earth genuinely nice guy which absolutely loves rock'n'roll. It's his mind set which keeps him young.

The hair!! I recently saw him on TV, it's a pitch black, perfectly symmetrical, flat, 'brillo helmet' parted perfectly down the middle, an obvious nod to the Andre the Giant school of timeless hair styling. Probably has a line of hair care products for sale, too, lol.
Great list although Gene Simmons is among the founding members of KISS it was in fact Paul Stanley who did most of the lead vocals why wasn't he featured on this blast from the past list, awesome content none the less I enjoyed it keep up the good work

Today's singers are mostly auto tuned and enhanced.
Turn the auto tune off and now vocal enhancements
Then the 80 rockers outshine in ability
Pretty cool, some of them aged really well especially Jon Bon Jovi and Joan Jett

Not really fair though. Comparing a studio shot with good lighting when they are young to a candid shot when they're older. How many times do you look good in a candid shot with bad lighting. Especially on a day when you may have left the house in a hurry.

I actually met Alice Cooper last year at a convention, got a photo op and autograph and I saw him in concert a couple of months later. I don't know how to order VIP, for those big concerts. So after trying to figure it out , we just ordered regular tickets, but I made sure we had actual seats, so we could see the stage, Ace Frehley also performed, I also seen Joan Jett once a few years ago and I'm gunna see her again in August at the stadium tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Poison.

@Samson 92 sorry, but Lauri isn't for me. Axl Rose is my homey, and he was a looker, but his attitude was a turn off to me. Not into quick tempers. Michael just had it all. He was an actor and very gifted lyricist. Fantastic baritone voice that was sultry, quiet, strong, and in complete control at all times. Extremely charismatic and sexy, and knew how to get a crowds attention. Such perfectly imperfect looks he could've been a model on top of everything else.
Time was definitly not very kind to some of these guys.

Went to the Stadium Tour for Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Poison and Motley Crue in Vegas of this year. Joan Jett is still rocking and continues to sing and play well as I’ve seen her perform on several occasions. Brett Michaels is awesome in concert. ❤🔥 Tommy Lee and the Crüe haven’t changed much but wish I was able to have seen them when they were in their prime. Def Leppard’s guitarist and drummer are still rockin and looking great. 🤘🏽
You mean...people get old through the years? So, when I turn 60 I won't look exactly the same as I looked in my 20's? Why? I had no idea. This video's been a true eye-opening experience; I just wish they explained the reason of why everyone looks old when they're old.
