- Spent a good part of the day doing a little dump trucking. Had to help Lonnie haul 8 loads of base rock about 35 miles north of Joplin. After a weekend of rain this worked out great on a Monday morning. We went to the normal quarry we go to because the other one a little closer to the job was almost out of base rock due to all the windmills being built in that area. So we had about an hour and 40 minute turn around so it wasn't terrible. It's not really much of a video but there's not many exciting ways to film dump trucking lol. It’s nice when they have a loader with a onboard scale like that . I hate getting to the scale house and they tell you to turn around because you have too much weight on. 👍. We have some windmills here we use them to give people directions lol

Hey, that's not bad, I enjoyed the time lapse of the trip. The time lapse was kind of like riding with a friend of mine, except that's close to his speed in real time.

That's a change of pace for you. Here in eastern Idaho they only use dump trucks in town unless it's a super 18 with a strong arm that can haul 26 tons other than that if it's 10 to 15 miles from the pit they mostly use belly dumps and if it's farther than that they use belly dumps pulling double trailers and haul between 35 and 44 tons per load. I've got a few belly doubles and even with a big Cat engine it takes a little bit to get up to speed grossing 130,000 pounds.
I could see that if the quarry is a long ways away you can get more material there at one time. It’s neat to hear from different areas what you see. Here it’s mostly tandems and tri axles

About 6 years ago, Florida Power & Light located in South Florida started putting in solar panels, they put in over 3 million last year. By 2025 are going to have 30 million of these panels in large Farms. Best part of all they are reduced the price of power in South Florida by 20%, and have been hardening all the poles and wires for the hurricanes.

@@eliteearthworksllc I haul coal in southeast Kentucky and I had 18 ton on a dm 800 Mack with a little 300 Mack and I almost thought he forgot to load me I usually haul 40-45.

@@eliteearthworksllc yeah we’re getting paid percentage as a driver and the haul pays by the ton and we’re not getting on the blacktop so load the wagon don’t worry about the horse 10-4

The wind mills are such an eyesore let alone the noise they make. We have had them in our area several years now. It’s just amazing that the company’s who deal with them only manage to make a profit that exactly matches the Government subsidies. Studies in most areas show they never actually make a profit before they are worn out.
I’m with you on that. And that’s what I’ve always heard on them too. Just doesn’t seem worth it
Yep... those big silver bird swatters are popping up all over. I heard that 68 per section was some sort of engineering optimum, on flat land. It has something to do with wind vortexes they claim. But, I believe it has more to do with the flight pattern of geese. That “V” that they form is spaced just about right for the windmills to swat the most geese, regardless of the direction they are flying through. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it!
A day of dump trucking beats a day of watching mud dry from the shop!

Yeah I can only legally haul 16 tons but if added a drop axle I could haul another 3 ton. Thank you!

I have a question and I can’t get a clear answer on it. If I’m driving a dump truck for a small company and the truck has a lot of issues like - no fire extinguisher, mirrors not properly mounted secured, Ratchet strap holding fuel tank on, oil leak, bungee cords holding the hood down, couple of amber lights out, air leak, etc etc .. and I get stopped by state trooper. Who gets the ticket ? The owner of the truck or me the driver ?
The owner of the truck gets the ticket but it also goes against you and your license. All the fines should go to the owner but it will be on your record
