Ive been vacationing in St Augustine Beach most every summer. (A1A Beach Blvd area) for 25 yrs. Retired LEO Northern NJ. I have friend looking at Hastings area. Seems interesting, I dont need schools. No HOA. Thinking of large lot. I would mind 30 min drive to beach.
😂 I ran from Orlando after having moved there 2018 and moved from house to house (upgrading same area) in Lake Nona. 2024 June was my move out day. The traffic is getting worse every year you can add 10-20 minutes more for the same route or radius. I did consider moving to downtown Orlando but no thanks. I moved Nocatee for 4 reasons, no traffic which makes driving easy, 10 degree to 5 degree different in weather, great schools and Orlando lake Nona area schools are dropping. I also didn’t like my kid going to a new school then within the year the school gets portables for classes due to over. crowding. And finally I wanted peace and green space, I don’t wanna see apartments getting build in my back yard. Love it here it’s peaceful.
I've been living here for 5 years, moved here from Phoenix AZ, I love it here! However in just the past 5 years i've seen tremendous growth. So much so that it's starting to be less desirable for all the reasons I moved here. There is too much clear cutting of trees, zoning seems uncontrolled. I live in Palencia which is the only true wooded subdivision in St johns county. I don't know why other subdivisions can 't be built like Palencia. Traffic is getting to be a problem as is the total disregard for traffic rules. .....speeding, tailgating and weaving in and out of lanes. Sometimes during the day, you literally are at a high risk of having an accident because of the way they drive!. The county NEED to slow down the growth, otherwise it will be like any other crowded town in south Florida. If the growth continues at it's current pace, i'm not sure how long I will want to live here.
