Watched your video, spent £3 on replacement ball and washer for the pump, coffee machine fixed!! Thank you very much for the clear and easy to follow help!!
Thank you my dear! I’m from Saudi Arabia and I had a problem with the water pump and changed the O ring. Therefore, everything is fine now! Thank you again!
Many thanks for your pump repair video's. My Miele CVA 620 has not been used for a few years and displayed the usual 'expel air' and a very noisy pump. Managed to extract the pump (quite difficult!) stripped down according to the video and I'm now enjoying my first cup of coffee for a long time. Great of you to share your knolwedge Milen.
Your repair demonstration is excellent and a money saver. Various versions of the Ulka pumps are used in medical equipment, to pump water or chemicals. After viewing your video, we have repaired several pumps, which we would have normally thrown out. We found problems with the “stuck ball” and replaced the smaller o-ring. Now the once malfunctioning pumps are all working properly. Thank you.
Thanks to your video showing the inside, I repaired the pump in my Nivona Romatica coffee machine. I had put a dodgy water filter in the machine. Water flow washed out the filter's insides and through the pipes, the water flow controller to the pump itself. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks! The water pump on my carpet cleaner wasn't working. Although the internal mechanism was slightly different from what you show, the information you presented was spot on. The back flow preventer was stuck & easily fixable. You saved me $60!
Thank you for this very informative video. I repaired my pump for £2.07 as opposed to having to purchase a complete pump. My Magnifica is now working quietly and properly. I am both delighted and relieved with the result. 👍😊
My Delonghi Magnifica is working again simply after taking the pump apart and putting it back together. You gave me the confidence to do it. I don't know exactly what the problem was, but it got it going. Thanks!
Thank you so much, my milk steamer has a small 16W pump (Quickmill evolution 70 machine), and steam stopped coming out. I took the pump apart and put it back together, and now I have steam! You saved me a lot of hassle as this part was out of stock everywhere...
Excellent! I have a 2005 Starbucks Barista which quit pumping after sitting for several months. I had tried other ways to try to get the pump to flow but none worked. Thanks for showing how to disassemble the pump. Once I did that and reassembled it worked. Thanks again
Waoou, thanks so much for your Video. The local repair shop couldn't even find where the problem was coming from. You are a star to take the time to post such detailed video. Well done
Thank you very much, you just saved my old DolceGusto coffee machine, the little mushroom ball was stuck in my case after a long period of not using the machine at all. Thanks again very very much
Excellent video! Thank you for making it. I just purchased an espresso machine that had been in storage for years. The pump would not prime. I used a plastic syringe full of water, to force water through those check valves, by removing the filter from the water supply hose, and putting the syringe onto the hose. (I got the plastic syringe from a local drug store by asking them if they had syringes for giving pets medicine. This kind of syringe has no needle.) After the pump was force primed, it worked, but the flow was very low. I removed the pump, and took it apart as you show here. I found that small 9mm x 5mm x 2mm o-ring was hard as a rock. I replaced it with one from the plumbing department in the local hardware store, and now the pump delivers a lot of water! Saved myself $45.
Thanks. You just saved me £200 buying a new Dualit coffee machine. The machine was making a loud noise and no water was coming through. Such a silly little spring stopping the whole machine working. A 5p spring stopping a £200 machine...

Thank you! I disassembled a Karcher SE4002 pump and I was able to get it running again.
Thanks a lot man! One suggestion is that to write the common coffee machine types that uses the same pumps. I had to open it then figure out where is the pump and finally get the model
Thank you, Milen. I just fixed my Gaggia Classic which uses the same motor. The little ball got stuck and the motor went super quiet. Indeed, so easy to fix. 👍
What a great video. Thanks for taking your time explaining how it works, I just fixed my Philips Saeco Intelia machine thanks to you!! Nothing was broken, just the small rubber valve was stuck. :)
Thanks for this detailed information! I have an '80's vintage Gaggia Coffee machine that is not pumping although the pump makes a loud noise when it is powered up. I will use this video to trouble-shoot the pump.
Great video, with just one note. I had a loud, non working pump in a Starbucks barista that had been sitting for a while. What I did was to elevate the water reservoir above the machine, forcing water into the pump. This allowed the pump to push with water instead of air, freeing the black rubber valve. It worked, and I did not have to take out the pump.
Thank you!! Yes, between the total dismount of my De Longhi EC680R and the whole job itself (2 hours), I now have a working coffee machine which was going straight to the bin! All about a stupid spring and a 2mm ball stuck, who would ever figure it out!! Thank you 🙌💪👏👍
I appreciate your time. I repair autoclave and my cofee machine use same pump but I never care that the plastic ball shrink in size by time, thank you again.
Excellent video. After my 15-month-old Miele DGC 6765 steam oven gave an F10 error, Reddit or Houzz sent me to this video. Inside the Miele's very similar vibratory pump, model ARS MPP2.02.041.3/ST/S 208-240V, I found a broken .25"x.75" spring which I was able to replace with a stainless steel spring from amazon in a 400pc variety pack for $16. Problem solved thank you. Much better and quicker than the extortionate price Miele would charge to repair my just-out-of-warranty and very-expensive-to-begin-with oven. Now I'll be ready if and when it happens again.
Milen, thank you for all of these videos. I have a Gaggia Synchrony. Sometimes it brews, sometimes it doesn't. I always get steam or water from the steam wand. Sometimes I go to brew a cup of coffee, it grinds the coffee, pump comes on for a second or two, then you only hear a quiet hum for about 10 seconds then it quits and the red light starts flashing. Think it's my pump?
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video! I only wish I had seen it earlier as have I already ordered a new motor. Will try to repair the old one anyway and have a spare! hehe
Thank you mate! you saved my ULKA pump from a Lavazza EP951 ! back flow valve stuck! i noticed that my pump hasn't the little ball, maybe a different model!
Nice video! Thank's for sharing all this informations. It's very helpful. I have Lavazza EP Mini coffee machine, but there is an EP4GW in it which does not have this little ball valve, there is a plastic piece inserted to the hole. It's making some strange noise during operation and in the same time the coffee flow drops. Do you have any idea? Can the rubber sealing cause this problem? It's a pretty new machine, only 9 months old.
Perfect and clear explanation I'm suspecting that my pump is the issue and from the search I'm sure it is a minor issue. BTW for the boiler when could I say that my boiler needs replacement? Is it when there is a visible leak?
I had a problem with krups dolce gusto circolo coffeemachine, thanks to your video it works now. The problem was indeed a stuck mushroom rubberhead, I repaired it like you described in your video. Thank you for the shared explanation.
Thanks a lot for this, complete, instructive and clever thought 😌👌 and you have the same voice as me, without the french accent😂😂.. that was really funny to hear 😂🔥👌
Great video, very helpful. Do you know if ULKA makes a pump that is compatible with Jura machines. So for example, similar to the Sysko HP4. 120v. Thanks!
Hey Milen, THANKS man for detailed description and instructions. I am bit confused, where did the second ball (the smaller one) come from, I disassembled mine and do not have the second ball.. Know this video is old, but you might get this comment... Blagodarim...
For the EC685 do you think i could replace the cema-ulka with regular ulka? Do they have any huge difference other than original sticker in the box? Also what symptoms did you have when pump was faulty? Dripping water from group head and low pressure in steam and brew?
Excellent video. However, it seems impossible to actually find the individual replacement parts. I guess your best bet is to try to find a used pump and salvage parts? The small ball seems to be the issue on my end, but that's likely worn on most used pumps, therefore I'll have to buy new anyway.
Hello, thanks for you video. I have a coffee maker with low pressure. Firstly I clean all lines with (vinagre), secondly clear air with not improve pressure. And finally I checked the pump. It was working but I also change plastic ball by another (metallic bike ball). The pump, the oring was ok. Then try again to prepare coffee and not got to improve the pressure. If you have any idea? Thanks a lot. Kind regards
Where can I get parts for the bronze discharge of the EX5. I have two pumps that I can't remove the white plastic retainer from. I have to destroy the retainer to get it out. Great video with excellent information. Thank you!@

I would like to ask, if it is allowed to change the water pump to a more powerful pump in the Saco Royal coffee machine? Very well done. Not easy for the english but you`ve been so friendly and helpful. Now i`ll try to check and repair in the case the water pump from De Longhi ec200 cdb. The coffee machine is been stopped for more than 2 years, so the water now isn`t going out. I think, probably are the orings or tha same that you show up. Thanks again, all the best*****
Hi Milen, Great videos. I have saeco royal professional and in display is ventilate which should be faulty pump but I checked with 240V directly on each pump and they work ok, when I measure voltage to the pump from pcb I only get 80V. Any suggestions for which components on pcb might be faulty? Thanks Oskar
I get water but only for a bit and it stops. if i don't have coffee pushed into the portafilter all the water comes out no problem. So it's definitely water pressure. So i expect it's either the internal spring, internal ball or most probably the small O-ring. I will also check the mushroom like valve with the smaller spring first. Thank you. I tried descaling twice and it didn't fix the problem. I wonder where I can order parts for this. It is a Delongi Dedica that i have used an incredible amount over a 5+ year period.
Thank you for this great video. My five year old EP5 has shrunken ball syndrome - the poor little thing was out of shape as well as lacking in diameter, but I don't think that was the killer problem. I used a multimeter to measure the resistance of the coil and found it was open circuit. Is that a valid technique to assess the coil?
@@d1bobbyg I think there is a DC blocking capacitor so it appears open circuit. So I don't think my suggestion is useful. I replaced the pump and found the triac board was the culprit. It worked out well and I can recondition the old pump when I get the parts.
@@kensandars7914 Thanks mate for your reply. I was meant to actually say that to you myself. The diode has that effect on your reading if you out the black testing wire on the that side. i was more wondering if the diode might be blown because for some strange reason it was giving me an "open" result no matter which way I test it until all at a sudden it decide to work. The strange world of electronics. Might try the triac next after I check the thermal fuses. It does seem to be the culprit as you found out quite often. Kind regards and an early Merry Christmas mate. Enjoy the coffee :-)
Thank you, Milen, for all the good information, question what do you do when the little plastic balls are the problem? do you replace them with other parts you have hanging around or just buy a new pump or maybe use stainless steel ball bearings?
Very good video. I have a problem with my pentavap ex2 but in my case the pump is ok and the steam boiler is damaged, but I cannot find one online... do you have an idea where I can find it? Thank you in advance.
Hi, thanks for this vid. I have similar problem... Pump is working , and water flows when there is no coffee in bell. But when you want to make a coffee , it acts like there is no pressure, I get just drops of coffee out..... Any suggestions?
A seven year old video that's informative, detailed and still relevant. Nicely done, sir!
I love how your english is not perfect, but yet you manage to explain this SO much better than any engineer ive met, thank you for this
I wish there would be more people explaining things like you. Thanks for taking the time!
after 3 years, i finally got my coffee machine to work. Thank you soo much
