Hoseoks new song is fire. Words can't begin to explain just how Fire and Dope this song is. I live the old hiphop beat of the song and I also love how catchy it is. I feel like when he fell in between the AR and SON... its because he is OUR SUN. The person who is the sun of a group will burn out first . Then the drums stop being distorted at the end and you just hear the clean snare. I feel like he is the phoenix, he is rising from the soot the ashes and oG Jhope is coming back to get us all. I really love how raw and real the lyrics are for this album. In this particular track, he was talking about how he realized that he has set the world on fire when it all just began with his burning passion to achieve his dreams. BTS has always said they never expected the level of fame and impact they have right now and though it is a privilege, it is equally terrifying. There is also the question of: does he stop burning now since he has achieved his initial dreams and has everything he wants? And Arson is actually the last song in the album so it kind of leaves you hanging.
Not enough people recognize exactly how terrifying that height is. They've expressed it so honestly. Reminds me of Interlude: Shadow, Black Swan, Outro: Tear, and even Louder than Bombs. So many more. But so raw in communication! Oh yeah! And Yoongi in Daechwita saying all his goals and dreams have been achieved so what now? Ahhh I love them all. Geniuses. I'm so proud of Hobi.

Yessss, literally - it's a piece of art that I will revisit to appreciate, not the jam that I just listen to to bop around. I started just for a second to listen to this album from the start earlier today and then I was like wait. I need to set a time aside to do this when I know I can really listen from start to finish because I can just tell immediately that (although I've already listened to More and Arson) this should be listened to as a whole like that. So I'm realllllly looking forward to that time
i may be hugely out of line with this interpretation since i’m neither an army nor a j-hope fan (tho that might change after this insane song) so i might lack context. I think arson can be seen as a story about jhopes carrier in a way. How he gave it his everything, like you said in the beginning about ambition, and how he burned everything and ran endlessly to reach his goal (for i think over a decade now; not even counting trainee years). It sparked a flame, one he started just for himself because he wanted to become an idol and he wanted to be famous and popular etc, but it set everything on fire (with bits being the most well known, popular and award winning k-pop group on this entire planet). he lit the flame that created the fire, he and his fellow members are the arsonists. And it was fun and thrilling. But now he’s reached all his goals and dreams, it’s done, he technically has it all. He is famous and popular and rich and wins awards and has fans all around the globe. Things have cooled down (with bits being on hiatus? idk) but he sees all the marks he’s left with his fire. and it’s still burning, and it will burn on unless he himself puts it out (like bts and bts members stopping music won’t be accepted unless they themselves want to stop, not for other reasons like their company or other complications) He’s burned out by now but can’t stop, he needs the fire to live now, he wants more (like his cgi heart) so now he’s asking the question to put the fire out, when it’s the best and there’s applause (like the idiom) or if he should burn even brighter, if he can still go on and create even greater things. (i think it’s a rhetorical question because the album speaks for itself) And the way everything caught on flames, how bts conquered the world, was criminal, straight up arson. so yah i feel like that’s one possible interpretation, but it’s only based on the english translation of the lyrics (after watching the mv religiously and speed running most available reactions) so it might be missing out on some intricate details found in the original korean ones.
